I saw Dr.Aston back in 2017 when I was 20 for my rhinoplasty. Now 6 years later (26) I am still so in love with my nose. I was really worried about it not fitting my face as I matured and got older but it still fits my face perfectly and I couldn't be happier :) I was swollen for a good year or so before I really saw a significant change.
This was my second surgery with Dr. Aston. He is truly amazing. Everything he works on is so natural looking but such a tremendous improvement. I am amazed at his caring and gentle bedside manner and no big ego especially for one of the top PS in the world. He really just wants to help. Can't say enough good about Dr. Aston.
I had surgery with Dr Sherrell Aston exactly one week ago. He performed cheek implants, buccal fat reduction and and fat grafting under my eyes. I was a little surprised at the size of the implants as I expected them to be medium malars but instead are small malars, but that's something that is decided during the surgery and I guess you just have to trust the doctors aesthetic. Right now, looks good. Looks very natural which is what I wanted. I traveled here from abroad already knowing what I wanted done. It was a bit risky and expensive but I could not find anyone I was comfortable with at home. I had an unfortunate interaction with a doctor in Sydney, and then was left with a choice of doctors that I really wasn't sure about. Having suffered a botched surgery result in the past I thought I should do my best to find someone I was comfortable with. The office was very nice to deal with. The patient coordinator Debbie is excellent, she is a very positive and warm person which is what you want. Dr Aston is confident and to the point. On surgery day I was kept waiting hours because the patient before me wanted something added in last minute, which was annoying at the time. The first few days were difficult due to eating and sleeping, and general feeling of being anxious. The pain was bearable I was just very uncomfortable. Swelling reached its peak on about day 3 and now at day 7 I look pretty normal. I have some light bruising and can't smile properly. I feel less worried about complications such as infection. I am keeping an eye on the symmetry of my cheeks and plan to hold off judgement for a few weeks. I'm staying at an airbnb and the home owner has been really nice and brought me soft food and has been checking on me. That's worked out super well. Glad I didn't stay in a hotel. Anyway I'll update more later. Updated on 21 Jul 2018: I was brushing my teeth this morning and pulled out a stitch. I guess they are ready to come out at this stage! I have a slight bruise under my eye still. Updated on 28 Jul 2018: It's been about 2.5 weeks since my surgery. The changes appear to be subtle and natural yet quite beautiful. The under eye area is smooth. Hopefully things continue to look good! I'm still a bit tender and I can't smile properly. Updated on 10 Aug 2018: My smile has mostly returned. I've read online that some people say their smile never returns to normal but I don't think that's going to be an issue for me. I was keeping an eye on symmetry because straight after the surgery my right cheek was protruding more than the left. I had a feeling it was just temporary. I had a small firm lump under the skin and it was more painful to touch - I asked Debbie what it was and she said probably a bruise. The lump has disappeared and things seem to evened out. Looks like my surgery is complication free! Updated on 21 Aug 2018: It's been about 1.5 months. Nice subtle change in the before and after. RS says I need to write 200 characters minimum to update............................................................................... Updated on 11 Feb 2019: It's been around 7 months and I'm still happy with my results. I haven't had any issues. It's a great procedure despite what others may say. Certainly having an experienced doctor with natural aesthetic is important to achieving a good result!
I will be turing 44 this year and thought it was time to get a refreshed look. I could not be more pleased with my experience and my results; Dr. Aston and his staff are amazing! Right before I went into surgery one of the nurses said to me that Dr. Astons hands "were touched by God", and I couldn't agree more. It's only been one week and I am already loving my results and know I will look even better once the swelling subsides. Dr. Aston is not only incredibly talented, but he also has a caring bedside manner. He really listed to my concerns and worked his magic. I am thrilled!! I highly recommend him for any plastic surgery work you are considering!
I had two fantastic consultations with Dr. Aston back in Nov 2014. He has perfect bedside manner – neither too formal nor too casual and great Southern warmth. I liked everything I came across, from the busy Irish receptionist to the wise, bespectacled patient co-ordinator (even their patient washroom is gorgeous – I took photos!) Even though I decided not to have surgery with Dr. Aston in the end (in retrospect I wish I had, but I’ll save that for another post), he gave me great advice and was more helpful than any other doctor I visited. His assistant handed me Dr. Aston;s cell number as I left and said I could call him anytime – I tried my luck by asking a question via text message and he called me back 10 minutes later to answer my question. I would not expect that level of attentiveness from a regular surgeon, let alone one with the kind of reputation this guy has. 5 star. Go see him!
I couldn't be any happier with my experience with Dr. Aston! I had done lots of research on the different plastic surgeons all over the U.S. I live out of state and chose to have him as my top pic. From beginning to end his office staff made the process so easy. They were extremely accommodating to my schedule. At my consultation Dr. Aston was so kind and knew exactly what I wanted to change about my nose. He even gave me his personal cell phone number just in case I had any additional questions. The night before my procedure he called me and reassured me that I was in good hands. The procedure went as planned and I couldn't be any happier with the results! His office staff have kindly answers all of my post-op questions and are just wonderful. Don't waste your time with anyone else. Dr. Aston is genius and I would absolutely use him again.
Dr Aston is a truly talented surgeon with an incredible eye. He has a wonderful bedside manner, always making me feel at ease and very well taken care of. He listened to me and performed a surgery to give me the exact look that I wanted to achieve. The results are absolutely beautiful, and very natural. Dr. Aston worked not to drastically change my features, but to improve them while still preserving their character. He and his staff were an absolute pleasure to work with and always very accommodating. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Aston and could not be happier with my results.
I had a rhinoplasty because I was unhappy with certain aspects of my nose. I came to Dr. Aston and he understood my issues right away. Dr. Aston is very talented. He is not only a great surgeon but also an artist. His bedside manner is excellent. He made me feel so comfortable and sincerely listened to everything I said. I am so pleased with my nose -- it's better than I imagined it would be and very natural looking. No one has noticed a change but everyone says how great I look. That's exactly what I wanted.
Dr. Aston is a genius. He is an artist and a realist. I worship him as a professional. I am fond of him as a friend. He has well deserved pride in what he does and what he has accomplished. 'Ego' is not a factor...it's about you... Not him. The experience on all levels is 'seamless'. Even the road signs to the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital are clearly marked, all necessities are clearly stated. Dr. Aston's office is impeccable, and the staff is flawless and friendly. It is not a factory. He is never distracted by fame or agenda. Your time with him is your time with him, all part of his meticulousness and fastidiousness. The Aston team is always available. Why do not all medical facilities follow his example.! With all the best from a repeat customer!!!
Dr. Aston was super friendly and helpful and accomodating throughout the process. I felt very comftorable going into surgery knowing how confident and genuinely caring Dr. Aston was. I completely reccomend Dr. Aston to anyone cosidering rhinoplasty. I am 1 month post surgery and feel great and happy with the results.
Cartilage may be reduced, or often repositioned and contoured. The skin will contract over the underlying modified framework. Skin removal is not a part of cosmetic rhinoplasty.
Saline is not necessary, plain water will help wash out your nose just fine. When using either you will need to be mindful of sutures inside the nose and take caution not to disrupt them while you are healing.
Never! Tape and bandages cannot shape the nose. That needs to be done during the surgical procedure. The splint I apply stays on for 5 days, my staff and I remove it, and nothing is put on after that.
Hi RLA, Great questions. I actually initially described tubular or tuberous breast deformity. Implants with what we call radial scoring and possibly even a lift may be needed to treat your breasts to get the look you are trying to achieve. Saline implants have rupture rates around 3% but after ten years the rate can be higher. Recent silicone implant data show rupture rates at a similar 3%. I would encourage you to consult with a reputable plastic surgeon in your area to discuss if this is something you wish to pursue. Since implants are a medical device, you may need another operation in your lifetime. Best of luck, Dr Aston
Rhinoplasty to lengthen a nose is usually done by adding cartilage (septal, ear, or rib) extending beyond the end of the septum. These are called septal extension grafts, however, the limiting factor may be skin shortage that limits the degree of improvement. Fillers are a not a great idea for lenghtening the nose so I would not recommend that. Best of luck.
