Facial Surgery with Sherrell Aston - Cheek Implants, Buccal Fat Reduction, Periorbital Fat Graft
WORTH IT
I had surgery with Dr Sherrell Aston exactly one week ago. He performed cheek implants, buccal fat reduction and and fat grafting under my eyes. I was a little surprised at the size of the implants as I expected them to be medium malars but instead are small malars, but that's something that is decided during the surgery and I guess you just have to trust the doctors aesthetic. Right now, looks good. Looks very natural which is what I wanted.
I traveled here from abroad already knowing what I wanted done. It was a bit risky and expensive but I could not find anyone I was comfortable with at home. I had an unfortunate interaction with a doctor in Sydney, and then was left with a choice of doctors that I really wasn't sure about. Having suffered a botched surgery result in the past I thought I should do my best to find someone I was comfortable with.
The office was very nice to deal with. The patient coordinator Debbie is excellent, she is a very positive and warm person which is what you want. Dr Aston is confident and to the point. On surgery day I was kept waiting hours because the patient before me wanted something added in last minute, which was annoying at the time.
The first few days were difficult due to eating and sleeping, and general feeling of being anxious. The pain was bearable I was just very uncomfortable. Swelling reached its peak on about day 3 and now at day 7 I look pretty normal. I have some light bruising and can't smile properly. I feel less worried about complications such as infection. I am keeping an eye on the symmetry of my cheeks and plan to hold off judgement for a few weeks.
I'm staying at an airbnb and the home owner has been really nice and brought me soft food and has been checking on me. That's worked out super well. Glad I didn't stay in a hotel.
Anyway I'll update more later.

Lost a stitch
I was brushing my teeth this morning and pulled out a stitch. I guess they are ready to come out at this stage! I have a slight bruise under my eye still.

worst doctor ever, he worked in manhatten eye &ear in charge of the new residents, i had a facelift that went bad, i was in bad pain i could not even close my eyes, i begged Dr.Aston to fix my face and eye he refused, he is a heartless person made me think he would by asking me to go down the block to take video of my face, i agreed i guess that video was to show people what happens when surgery goes wrong and he still refused to help me how can he live with himself

Subtle change
It's been about 2.5 weeks since my surgery. The changes appear to be subtle and natural yet quite beautiful. The under eye area is smooth. Hopefully things continue to look good! I'm still a bit tender and I can't smile properly.
