I had RNY with Dr. Lopez 10 years ago, in 2015. It was an amazing experience and truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I traveled to Tijuana from the states. Everything was perfect! I went alone and was definitely afraid, but it was amazing! My highest weight was 326. I’m currently at 154. I’m back on RealSelf for skin removal!

I spent 4 years learning about Dr. Lopez, as 4 people from my hometown had gone to him and had success. I decided after 4 years of having fear and anxiety that I needed to do it! I emailed and had a smooth process with the entire team while getting everything set up! The whole experience was the best for me as I have never been treated so well with any other medical team! You do not get that kind of service in the US. Even when I came home, I was able to reach the doctor at anytime and he would talk to me about anything. Again, you don’t get that in the United States. Everything was really clean and nice, very updated facilities. I have never been so blessed with an experience. Dr. Lopez and Dr. Helmet were my favorite hands down!

I can't say enough great things about my experience. From beginning to end the process was very smooth. Sandra (the coordinator) was AMAZING! I didn't spend much time speaking Dr. Lopez but my surgery went as planned. 10/10 would recommend!

Guadalajara, mexico was the surgical place for my sleeve to bypass. But let me tell you the staff were so professional, and kind I am truly amazed. Even te hospital here in mexico is cleaner than ones I've been to in the US! Their meals were also great, pineapple jello yum! If you're considering surgery but are worried to have it done out of country, if tiger it done with ALO there is absolutely nothing to fear. Dr. Lopez performed my surgery and everyone was again fantastic! They're sending me home with antibiotics and pain medicine.

AMMMMAZZZINNG! Although I didn't send much time talking to or dealing with Dr Lopez himself - his staff was unreal - so welcoming and comforting. Answered all my questions (and I had a LOT) and felt so taken care of!

My experience was amazing! Loved the whole staff! Superb care. Dr. Lopez still offers advice to his patients post-op. Clean facility, the nurses take really of their patients. I had better care south of the border than I've had in the states! Down 140 ugly pounds! **I had gastric sleeve, but the treatment doesn't let me type it in.***

He is an amazing doctor from start to finish! Great communication throughout the entire process and made sure that I understood everything perfectly. I would recommend this doctor to anyone who is considering this surgery. Any worries you have he will comfort you and do his best to reassure you throughout the process.

My exsperience with Dr Alejandro Lopez was superb. February 2 was my surgery date . And I went from 238lbs to 180 to today. I only wished I would have done sooner. Thank you Dr Lopez and staff for having a part in my life changing miracle. So happy !

I had a revision from a lap band to a duodenal switch in November of 2015 with Dr. Lopez. I did a lot of research trying to find a vetted surgeon in Mexico. I used a medical travel company but could have easily done it on my own through his office I found out later. From the time I was picked up in San Diego, they took great care of me! With the exception of one overnight contract nurse at the hospital who was kind of a pill, everyone there was fabulous! The doctors, nurses, hotel staff, transportation, coordinators - wonderful! I was scared spitless going in and they did everything they could to make me feel safe and welcome. I've had a great recovery and am down 135#. Even after 2 1/2 years he is still available to answer questions and offer advice and encouragement!
