Even before I became a mother of two and breastfed both children, I have always wanted fuller breasts to match my frame. After my babies, it really intensified.
I backed out multiple times either for cost, nerves, or potential for breast implant illness but on 12/29/20 I finally attended my first consultation.

Dr. Bortnick was very responsive to my questions. He is very knowledgeable but was able to break some of the terminology down for me to understand. I wanted his guidance on size (he is the expert after all). I expressed my concerns of choosing too large of a size and it potentially making me look larger than I am. I let him pick the size based on my wants and I’m so happy I did! His nurse, Jamie, is phenomenal too and always answered my phone calls. That’s so unusual to me for a doctors office..

I chose 470cc Sientra silicone implants. Yesterday was my surgery and the process was so smooth. The nurse and staff were very helpful and took great care of me. I can’t believe I finally did it! I’m so happy I chose the perfect doctor as well.

Every time I saw Dr. Bortnick, I always felt like I was his only patient. I was well informed about my procedure and can't believe the results. I love my body now! Dr. Bortnick took an approach to my procedure that was unlike any of the other surgeons I had consulted with. He wanted my overall shape to match and be contoured with desired results. I am so please and I feel proportional.
A Mommy Makeover is a huge procedure and the recovery is not pleasant especially the first three days post surgery. I am currently two months post surgery and have zero regrets and would do it all again to get the results I have. So glad I did it!

I was referred to Dr. Daniel Bortnick by my dermatologist to see about removing the Hidradenitis Suppurativa (cysts, basically) from a large portion of my right armpit. Also, I wanted to correct an attempt by a previous surgeon that left me with an odd extra pouch of skin near that same arm pit.
For symmetry’s sake he determined the best course of action would be a brachioplasty which would correct both issues on the right arm! Now, I was a very big girl at the time, and my arms carried an abnormally large portion of the weight. I couldn’t wear tanks and not be self conscious and even always worried that people I hugged felt smothered! The HS never got a chance to heal bc my arm meats were too stifling to let it breathe! So despite that the HS was the original motivation, I actually got REALLY excited at the thought of smaller arms.
We did the surgery on April 12, 2017 and I never regretted a second of it! I definitely needed help for the next couple weeks - even to scratch my nose bc I couldn’t bend my arms. Dr. Bortnick and his staff answered all my calls, emails and questions VERY quickly and even fit me in to the schedule whenever I had a concern and needed reassurance.
On June 1, 2017 I had weight loss surgery and have lost 151 lbs as of 11 months later. This June Dr. Bortnick will be doing my circumferential abdominoplasty and next spring my breast and thigh lifts!! He did my arms at my heaviest and even after 150 lbs lost, they still look as amazing as they did! I will need more surgery to remove the rest of the HS, so hopefully the general surgeon doesn’t do anything to ruin Dr. B’s masterpiece! In any case, if he can work THAT magic, he can do anything! And I trust him completely to take on all of my reconstructive surgeries, because I know he won’t be satisfied with anything less than incredible results!!

Here are a few pics I took a couple days after surgery, along with one of my favorite after pics! I LOVE these arms! (bruising from lipo)

I was referred to Dr. Bortnick from a friend. I had done research in KC on many doctors over the 10 years I was wanting to get the (brachioplasty) done. But, for different reasons the other doctors or their offices were not a candidate for me. From the first time of my consultation to the end of my final procedure I have been extremely satisfied with my results, the Dr's willingness to address my concerns, his amazing office staff and his surgical staff. They were all amazing. During the consultation - he was never rushed (like other Dr's.) He answered all my questions, explained the details of the procedure and was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. During the procedure, again; professional, detailed and personable / down to earth. My arms look amazing now! I am so happy. As they say; "sun's out - guns out" (arms) :)

Dr Bortnick's eye and skills give him the ability to look at each individual to determine what they need to achieve amazing results. I thought I wanted a slightly different procedure. He took the time and explained what he thought I should do. He was right. I look great and glad I took his advice!

After years of wanting a BA... I am finally getting one the day after tomorrow. My surgeon is using the "dual plane" technique and I am getting Allergan SRF-415 implants. I am getting really nervous to go with my excitement! I lost 60 lbs a few years ago... combine that with breastfeeding 2 babies and early menopause (I am 44)... my once glorious, perky 36Ds are now a sad, embarrassing 34A or small B.

That was fast! I checked in to the surgery center at 945... and got home at 115. Been resting but, despite the drugs, sleep is escaping me. I am sore, like 48 hours after doing a ton of push-ups, but in no real pain. I took a peek and they are really high and feel huge. Now the healing begins. Will

Dr B is great. Very sweet, and super efficient, and clearly gentle! I expected so much more pain, but nope! At lest not yet!

They are so swollen up top and squar-ish for now but holy volume! Pain meds are starting to wear off but I seriously could get away without them if I had to.

This is a highly intelligent, sweet man. He was the 3rd surgeon I met in the KC metro and I chose him on the spot, for several reasons: his willingness to explain everything and why, his honesty about we we can achieve, based on actual measurements. And he is a KC local. Gotta love that! I am less than 24 hours post op and outside being sore (think about recovering from 500 push-ups sore). I feel great!! His touch was gentle.

Other things: his front office staff could learn to stop surfing their phones when patients are in the lobby. The Caucasian female was particularly rude. The African American lady was much nicer and at least tried. They did not bother me enough to lose a star on the review, but I can see how some might feel upset by the lack of professionalism. If someone is coming into your office spending several thousand dollars, the courtesy of a smile goes a long way. Don't let them sway them away you from the doctor behind the door.

One thing that's amazing to me is I had exactly zero bruising. My recovery has been really really easy. I am sore and get some occasional weird numbness and nerve pain and I can overdo it pretty easily. But I am so surprised on just how boring this recovery has been.

Implants at dropping some; I will try to gab a picture in the next day or so.

I love the boobs. They are perfect for me...they have dropped and fluffed, and soften more and more as time goes on. Full sensation, o pains or numbness. Happy! Some pictures for comparison.

I used to have cute, perky breasts. Then I had three beautiful little girls, breastfed them each for nearly a year and ended up with less than attractive, saggy mom boobs. With each child, I lost a little more volume. My husband would always tell me they were perfect (he's a keeper), but I couldn't help but feel self-conscious about them. The time it was always most poignant was when I would put on a bikini. When you have no breast mass even the most padded booster of bikini tops does not fit you right and it announces to the world you are faking it. After a good friend of mine went to Dr. Bortnick and came out looking phenomenal, I knew it was my turn to invest in my self confidence and have a consultation. There are several reasons after my initial consultation why I chose to go with Dr. Bortnick as my surgeon: 1. I had a friend who had wonderful results and highly recommended him 2. He sat down and explained every piece of the surgery from profiles and types of implants to location of the incision and the size that best fit my body 3. He had a very confident, professional demeanor 4. He smells terrific - you may think this is a ridiculous reason to choose a surgeon, but nothing screams good hygiene like someone who is well-manicured and smells great 5. He performs multiple surgeries per week and has vast experience 6. He operated on his own wife - for those of you who are married and don't trust your husband to find his car keys successfully in the morning, you will understand the value of this Fast forward to now - I am six weeks post-surgery and absolutely in love with my new breasts. Dr. Bortnick did a fabulous job and I am very pleased with the results. I wanted a very natural look and to land somewhere around the "C" cup range. As you'll see from the pictures, any amount of implant would have been an improvement from my "A" cup. The recovery time was very brief and pain was minimal. I had surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work on Thursday. He prescribed a pain medication which I took for 2-3 days. Most of the pain was completely dissipated after one week. If you've ever breastfed a child, it feels no worse than the first night your child (and you) sleep through the night and you wake up to extremely engorged breasts. After my 1 week post-op appointment, I was cleared to do cardio. I went on my first run 10 days post-surgery suited up in two sports bras. Overall, I was extremely impressed with my experience. Dr. Bortnick needs to be at the top of your list for surgeons to consult with. The choice will be obvious after your first meeting with him. To compliment Dr. Bortnick's staff as well, they were extremely prompt with appointments. For my follow-up visits, I would be settling myself into a chair to read a magazine and my name would be called within seconds. Rarely did I have more than a 4-5 minute wait for an appointment. If you're on the fence about having an augmentation, get off the fence and do it. It's a life changer. I feel like a completely different woman and have realized very positive changes in my confidence that are having great impact on my personal life and even my career. Invest in you because you're worth it!

My experience was everything I hope for. I'm a little over a month post-op, but I'm very happy with the results. Dr. Bortnick was helpful and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease with my decision with my breast augmentation. I highly recommend him for your plastic surgery needs.

I needed to have my saggy boobs picked up off the floor..Lol.., and found this MD on real self. Had the best overall bedside manner, very responsive to my needs and the best overall professionalism I have encountered in a while. I am so happy with my results and his nurse Jamie is truly a gem. If you need someone to be real honest with you, check him out you won't regret it.

I decide one day I was going to get a ba. I was getting tired of my bras leaving bruises and scars. My bras wasn't cheap and I was buying mederma to help with the scars. Last yr I decided that for my 50th birthday I would have beautiful boobies. I have been a dd forever. I didn't change my size I love my dd's. I can't wait for them to heal and move in to position. I have a trip planned for my 50th bday to the Dominican Republic. Can't to put on my swim suits and sexy dresses. To all that are considering a ba do your home work find a good surgeon in you r state or a state this is about 20 to 30 mins away. The pain wasn't bad at all the 3rd day I was on Tylenol. The swelling and the tightness and the heavines is what you have to get through.

First day back at work, I've been off for 20 days. I'm moving slow because I don't want to hurt myself. Everyone is helping with things I can't do by myself. Morning boobs are a [RS bleep]!!!

Today was my second day back to work, to say the least It was challenging. Driving had gotten a lot better. Still have some swelling. I've started using mederma and the silicon scar away.

All of my steri strips are gone. I've started using mederma in the morning and at night I use the scaraway silicone strips at night. My surgeon Dr. Bortnick did a wonderful job. My scars won't be that noticeable.

I'm feeling a lot better my right breast is lower than the left. I have a little soreness in the left breast. My Franken boobs is slowly disappearing and I'm very happy about that. My incisions are healing good. My doc appointment is June 1st.

Hi ladies it's my 3 day wknd I'm feeling good today. Boonies still need to drop and fluff.I was trying on different clothes I'm going to the Dominican Republic on my 50th b-day in September. I have to get some clothes altered by then boobies should look beautiful. I haven't went bra shopping not interested.

This one of my favorite dresses I had on a half bra and my boobs still sit low. I've had that same dress on after my ba and it was wonderful not to have a bra on and my boobies made the dress look good on me.

To I notice that the morning boobies wasn't bad. I have to say I'm happy that it's leaving. Driving had gotten much better I had a full anchor lift, so turning the steering wheel was my issue.

I was buying specific bras for work because I move around a lot. I was buying bras for sexy look. I still have bras with tags lol. I order my bras from lane bryant and the red one in the pic I fell in love with it didn't love back. I tried it on today and I love love the way it looks on me.

It's almost 2 months since ba. I got implants under the muscle and a full anchor lift which causes the frankenboobs. My right breast looks the way I wanted it to look I love the way it looks and feel. The left breast has a mind of her own it hasn't dropped it's the frankenboob. Dr Bortnick dedcided on my last visit to cut a small incision and pull the implant down in August if she hasn't dropped. It is so important to have your ba close the state you live in or in your state and also paying full price
I don't have to pay him one penny more for that procedure if I have to have it done.

It's been 2 months the right breast feels like I don't have a implant and the left breast is gertting there. I love the right breast all I need is for the left breast to drop. My lollipop incision scar is barely there the anchor incision is getting there. At work I move and bend a lot and I notice a little soreness at the anchor incision so I used Neosporin and the soreness went away. Can't wait til 2 more months pass to see how the girls will look .

Today will be my first day of working out. My surgeon told me in June it was ok, but I had a full anchor lift and the incisions were still a little sore and tight. I can move and extend my arms without any odd feeling and I'm so ready to start back exercising. I have a gym in my garage.

Thursday my daughter and I went to Vicky Secrets. We had a wonderful time shopping. I purchased a maximum sports bra love it and undies. As time passes the breast looks better. The left breast has dropped a little bit I'm still uneven. So I'm still loving them and I love how I look in clothes now. I can pick out sexy clothing and not have to worry about how it's going to look or having to buy a bra for that dress or using body tape.

I'm 5 days away from my 3 months post op. In still uneven not so much frakenboob. I'm still happy with my decision to get a BA.. I don't have any sornes a couple of zings here and there.

I'm 3 months post op today. The left breast has start to feel not so tight or feeling like it was heavier than the rigjt breast. Still uneven but I'm not worried about it. I love the way my scars are healing and the way they look.

Today is my 4th month post op. It went well, we made a date on pulling the implant down in the left breast. My surgeon is happy with my healing and scars. He asked me how I feel with the new boobies and I replied I'm happy with them. He didn't make them look fake or like something round stuck in my chest.

On Aug 6 me and my better half went to a outdoors concert. We had a blast, a really good time. He was worrying about being hot and I was worrying about the mosquitoes. We worried for nothing. The dress I brought fit the way I wanted it to.

Hi ladies I turned 50 on Sept 23rd and boonies turned 5 months old. Me my daughter and my sister went to the Dominican Republic. We had a wonderful time we stayed at the Excellence Punta Cana Hotel adults only. The boobies are looking better as time goes by love them.

Today Dr.Bortnick revise my left breast to bring it a little lower. I was not sure i wanted to but he assured me a faster healing time and it wasn't that bad. I'm home in the bed watching t.v. I have to go back in a week to see how the beast is healing.
