I never noticed that my nose was large until about 10 years ago when somebody commented on it. And as I got older I became more self conscious of it. So on a trip to Vietnam I decided to go the cheap route and get rhinoplasty there. I found JW Korean plastic surgery. The doctor told me he would make it narrower and smaller. It was what i wanted to hear. He signed me up for what they call an S line rhinoplasty. I should have known there would be problems because the day of surgery I felt like a sardine on a line up. They wheeled me in with another girl at the same time. I woke up from surgery to find my ear bandaged up and when I looked in the mirror I saw this long point at the tip of my nose. I started screaming. I felt like I had been deformed. They had added cartilage from my ear onto my nose without telling me. That was their standard procedure over there and I had unknowingly got it. When they took the cast off a few days after I looked awful, I didn't even want to return home to my family. I fell into depression and was a total emotional mess for the next few months. I felt like I had paid to mutilate myself. Fast forward to a year later and I had been researching and trying to find a surgeon to fix the pointy thing on my face. The plastic surgeons here in Australia were quoting me 20,000. I felt it was exorbitant especially that some of them had mixed reviews and i wasn't prepared to pay 20k and take a chance. I really needed this to be my last surgery. I was prepared to go anywhere. Luckily I found a surgeon in Italy Armando Boccieri. I really liked his website and I got in touch with him. Things fell into place and I booked my flights and headed off to Rome a month later. It was a surreal experience. I always wanted to see Italy and the possibility of getting my face back was very exciting. I met with the doctor an hour after I landed. He was fantastic; warm and knew exactly what he was talking about and what was possible with my nose. It was the exact opposite of my first rhinoplasty. I felt cared for and that I was in good hands. When I came out I had one look at myself and I knew the nightmare was over. It was such a liberating feeling. When he took my cast off a week later I was thrilled. I felt like I had a new lease on life. Doctor Boccieri took a big mess and he made it into a beautiful nose that feels like second nature to me. I am so grateful to him and to his staff. He is genuine, caring and very talented and extremely competent. I travelled across the world to see him and he was easily worth all the effort. I will try to add some pics soon.

I had one previous surgery in 2001. It was not great procedure and over the years with aging whatever was not done right become very obvious... I spent massive amount of time researching and finally found what I was looking for... My nose was incredibly bent, upturned, twisted and generally not looking well... I am very happy with Prof. A. Boccieri's results so far. It was a great procedure and absolutely lovely overnight stay in the hospital. Two follow up appointments so far and every time Prof. A. Boccieri is proving to be truly kind and very professional person.

I am a medical doctor my self and I had my first rhinoplasty in occasion of an extensive sinus surgery.
