Many mothers turn to the “mommy makeover,” which reconstructs both the abdomen and the breasts. Depending on the severity of the changes, there are several options for women. To reconstruct the tummy, there are several different options available at my practice. After pregnancy, some mothers only find the skin on their stomach to be somewhat stretched and don’t experience much weight gain. In this case, a noninvasive treatment is usually the best—Thermage can be used to shrink the skin. This is a non-surgical skin tightening device that utilizes microwaves to contract collagen. For those who only have a little outstretched skin and small amount of extra fat, CoolLipo laser liposuction can be an excellent choice. This minimally invasive procedure will break up and eliminate fat cells, while at the same time, promote skin tightening. All this without scars. *

Not every woman is born with the breasts they want. Breasts also change over time, as age, breastfeeding, weight loss, and other factors contribute to volume loss, sagging, or drooping. At my Skokie, Illinois practice, I restore the confidence of my patients through breast enhancement surgery. My approach results in the most natural appearance, without scars. While other surgeons tend to avoid performing endoscopic axillary breast augmentation, I specialize in this technique. Placing the breast implant through the armpit with a minimal incision allows for absolutely no scars and beautiful, natural-looking breasts. This also results in a speedier recovery, as many of my patients return to their day-to-day activities within just 48 hours after surgery. For patients seeking a breast lift (with or without implants), my “internal lift” technique creates no vertical scars. I also avoid anchor-type scars for both breast lift and breast reduction surgery.

Dr. Gregory Turowski, MD, PhD, FACS is a double board-certified plastic surgeon based in Skokie, Illinois, in Chicago’s North Shore. With an experienced surgical staff and safe, comfortable setting, Dr. Turowski’s New Horizons Center for Cosmetic Surgery specializes in plastic surgery for the face and body, as well as hair restoration surgery.

After training at world-renowned institutions such as Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston’s Children’s Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital, he received his second board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Turowski also holds a post-graduate research fellowship from Yale.
Dr. Turowski is a member of the exclusive American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the International Society for Hair Restoration Society. He has earned numerous accolades, including being named one of the American Registry’s “America’s Top Surgeons,” frequently included in the Castle Connolly Top Doctors list, and inducted into the RealSelf 500 Hall of Fame.
