Abdominoplasty is one of the most popular body sculpting procedures at my Westport practice. Also known as a tummy tuck, this surgery flattens your midsection by removing excess skin and tightening the abdominal muscles, addressing stubborn concerns that resist even the most vigilant diet and exercise. For some patients, I recommend a combination of tummy tuck surgery and liposuction, to fully resculpt the midsection. People who have recently lost a lot of weight, men who are self-conscious about their sagging “spare tire,” and moms whose skin has been stretched by pregnancy all make great candidates. Depending on how much excess skin you have, you may only need a mini tummy tuck, which focuses on the lower abdomen (below the belly button).
