I don’t know what all of you are talking about Dr. Groff has been a blessing to me. I am 52 an have had 15 to 20 laser treatments in my lifetime for a port wine stain on my face. I met Dr. Groff about 6 mos ago and have a total of 4 laser treatments so far. THE BEST results I have ever seen so far. I was under the resolve that I will live out the rest of my life with it and just continue to cover it up with thick unattractive makeup . Now I have a hope that I don’t have to live with it thanks to Dr. Groff. He is knowledgeable, passionate, and skilled. He is personable, professional, and cares about his practice and strives for the best results for his patients. I am so happy I found him it has made a world of difference in my life. I’ve had rosacea forever, and dealt with it over the last 30 years primarily with IPL but this didn’t address the capillaries. I went to Dr Groff again, he did a laser “lift” for me five or six years ago and I loved the result, I schedule with him when I need the laser guru. He did a vbeam session with me and the veins are cleared. I’m much happier knowing this can not only reduce my veins but also reduces my rosacea flushing.

If you have dark veins under or around your eyes, I highly highly recommend you get the Vbeam Prima Laser Treatment by Dr. Groff in San Diego. I am very fair-skinned, with dark veins around my eyes. I have had them my whole life. The Doctor, the clinic, the nurses, the instructions, intake, and procedure I am all rating a 5/5. This is the best experience I have had at a clinic. Background: I am a nurse who has had these dark veins around my eyes. I live in Montana. They have always bothered me, especially since they were so dark even makeup didn't really cover them. They made me look older and tired. Since I am familiar with procedures and healthcare, I did a lot of calling and reading before booking this appointment. I tried very hard to make an appointment the last few years close to me or locally. Every dermatologist/laser surgeon, eye surgeon/doctor refused to even talk about getting rid of these veins because they were so close to the eyes. Even reading about periorbital/under eye vein treatments showed they were extremely hard to treat and "apparently" dangerous. All of this made me think there were no options, and I had live with these veins. Back in Oct 2022, I saw a Reddit post of a girl my age who had seen Dr. Groff for under-eye vein lasering. I decided to book an appointment. Booking the Appointment: I paid a fee to do a consultation over Zoom. This was ideal, since I lived states away. I was asked to send pictures before-hand. (The before pictures I posted here). Dr. Groff was great with a lot of questions I had. I was most nervous about protecting my eyes, and the risk of vision damage. I also wanted to know if the veins come back and how many treatments I needed. I was informed these veins supply blood to the skin around my eyes... not the eyes. There was no risk of eye damage from lasering them, as there are other veins in this area that will continue to supply blood to the skin. I was informed my eyes would be covered during the lasering to protect them from the laser. They can come back with repeated sun exposure, but some patients never have them come back. I was also told even though the veins were dark, Dr. Groff was confident he could have the veins either completely gone, or the darkest vein under my right eye would fade at least 80% with one treatment. The final results would show at the 2-month mark, as the body takes a bit to get rid of the vein. But there would be a noticeable difference right away. I was then given a price quote, and told the consultation fee would cover part of the total cost of the procedure. I was pretty nervous. When I looked up Vbeam Prima, it didn’t seem like this laser treated my issue. But Dr. Groff has a lot of experience and different laser options. I decided to trust that if there was a different laser he thought was better, he would have recommended it. He also told me patients fly in from all over the country just to get this laser treatment from him. I was able to book an appointment in about a month, and purchased plane tickets. The Treatment: I booked in the afternoon to make sure if my plane had a delay, I’d still make my appointment. I didn’t wait long at all. He has a very nice/helpful staff and clinic. A nurse took me back, had me wash my face, and made sure I didn’t have any questions. I had a few, but Dr. Groff was patient and took his time answering all them. I really appreciated this. I was reclined in a treatment chair and eyes covered with eye shields. The laser would fire at a small section of vein and immediate spray a cooling spray. My veins wrapped around my eyes, up my temples to my hairline on both sides. So it took a few minutes to completely laser each side. It was uncomfortable (like a little rubber band snapping that tiny area each time). Dr. Groff asked me regularly how I was doing during the lasering. It was uncomfortable, but more than worth it. It was kind of emotional seeing my face right after… it already looked so good. I was told after to avoid the sun the next few weeks, and there was a possibility of some minor redness and bruising. I was in and out in about 30 minutes, and flew home that night. After the Procedure: I had no bruising. Redness for maybe a day or two. I did have a little swelling under the eyes for a few days. But honestly, it didn’t even look like I had something done. I also went a a cruise for a week right after… just wore a hat and sunscreen. No issues. Every week it looks better and better. I swear I look younger and more rested. I’m only 5 weeks post op, but I’m so thrilled I decided to post now. Hard to believe it may still get better. Dr. Groff is my new dermatologist. I’m excited to get more laser treatments in the future.

Dr Groff is the Most knowledgeable, professional, patient, warm, validating, talented cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist I have had the pleasure of working with since 2015. I've seen him for laser treatments for scar removal from cancer and breast augmentation, as well as acne scars and rejuvenation under my neck. Dr. groff always helps me feel validated and comfortable in my own skin and always boost my confidence when I come to him for my concerns. He always gives me the best professional advice because he has an amazing amount of experience under his belt, and takes a lot of pride in his craft. I trust him with my life and I know he would only ever give me suggestions that would benefit my mental and physical health and appearance for the long term. I have felt truly cared for by him and his staff for the last seven years and I am so grateful that I was referred to him. As a professional aesthetician I am quite familiar with the industry, and Dr. groff is the only cosmetic laser dermatologist surgeon I would ever refer my friends family and clients to. I've had undereye veins for a long time, since I was 10 due to an incident when I landed on my head and once the undereye bruising went away, I was stuck with these noticeable reticular veins underneath my eyes in addition to other veins. I've had people think I've been hit before and such when it was just my veins and it's been a thorn in my side for a while. I never went without makeup because they were always noticeable, even with concealer on to some degree, and the worst part is they made me wonder whether I had hyperpigmentation and really deep tear troughs. I have always wanted to not wear makeup and they made it difficult for me to do so without feeling exposed. I have always been aware of Cosmetic Laser Dermatology because they are one of the few places that offer this service and I've been toying with getting this procedure done for some time. When I called them up, they let me know that Dr. Groff would be my provider. I looked him up and sure enough, he's done this procedure many times and that soothed me a lot before coming in (I initially asked for Dr. Goldman since he's the only doctor I've seen with reviews on this procedure, but he is currently only accepting referrals). The place itself is very clean and professional and even though I was his last patient of the day, Dr. Groff made sure I didn't have any other questions and he listened and answered the ones I had. The procedure itself was quick, it definitely is a bit of a shock in regards to the pain, nothing unmanageable, though, but it's an experience in of itself and nothing prepared me for the results. I appreciate how he was thorough and really got in there to remove the veins, I had more than one in each undereye area and it was a concern of mine before this that maybe not all of them would be taken out since I have quite a few and they all contribute to how dark that general area looked. I couldn't believe how improved my undereye area looked. I still can't, lol. My boyfriend says it looks like I have a filter on all the time now, haha, because of how marked the improvement was. I almost cried because I can't believe how my skin just looks...clear, and those tear troughs I was so worried about, well, turns out I barely have them, they really are just around my nose and it's crazy because I thought that after I got this done, I'd need to get fat grafting done to my undereye area so those "tear troughs" wouldn't be so prominent. But no, it turns out I don't have them to the degree I thought I did and it's such a relief. I can't believe it's had such an effect on my undereye area and my facial harmony as a whole. I would suggest this procedure to anyone and specifically at this location, it's worth the drive and cost 100%. This has been a dream for me for a while and now it's a reality, I'm so grateful to the staff and obviously Dr. Groff especially :^) As for the aftereffects, it does sting for about an hour afterward and the area does swell up - you might get mild malar bags from the swelling. It goes down after a few hours and I woke up with the swelling again, but it has gone down and I've also taken ibuprofen to help with the inflammation. There is still some residual redness in my after photos, but it is decreasing as the day goes on. We'll see how the results pan out since it takes about a month to see what takes hold. I'll be sure to post an update at that time. When I need any other laser treatments as I age, I will definitely be looking at this place again, I love how all the doctors here are experienced at what they do and they have a great bedside manner (even though I was holding them up closing by a bit). If you have undereye veins, I recommend this place highly. My only regret is I didn't do this sooner!

I'm 61 years old. I got laser surgery on my face, neck, chest arms and hands. I also am a registered nurse in the biggest health care system in San Diego Calif. I tell you this because I am totally observed the facility at Cosmetic laser Dermatology is very high tech, sterile, they use PPE their emergency medical equipment is up to date and they use Covid precautions.Thank you Dr. Groff. I got the take 10 procedure which took 10 years off of my face, neck chest arms and hands. I look just beautiful. I researched Dr. Groff, and he is at the top and best in his work in San Diego county. He has a great bedside manor. He has been very patient and good with me in answering all of my questions. He is also very good to his staff. His staff is very happy which turns around and his staff reflects his kindness onto me. He assigned a teaching nurse Phyllis to prep me on the surgery.She called 3 times for teaching and 3-4 follow up calls. Phyllis made me totally ready to go in for this procedure. The nurses in the the procedure room Carrie, Lindsey, Layne, and Kendall were highly skilled and comfortable in the positive atmosphere that Dr. Groff creates for staff and pts alike. I have taken care of a lot of people in my life, this time it is for me. I picked the right Dr. to help me with this. Thank you Dr. Groff made it such a wonderful positive experience. RO.

I have been to Dr. Groff for a few different laser treatments and have been highly satisfied with the results. He’s very knowledgeable on the many choices of lasers available. He’s honest and does not recommend procedures that are unnecessary. This is something I really appreciate. Dr. Groff has a great personality and knows how to make a patient feel comfortable. I see Dr. Groff for fillers. I always leave feeling good about how I look and usually don’t have any bruising. The staff are very nice. I would definitely recommend Dr.Groff for your cosmetic needs.

Doctor Groff has been amazing in treating my surgical breast lift scars. He used a combination of two lasers and after a few cycles my scars are barely visible. I feel so much more confident! His practice has about every laser that is available so I know that I am getting the best possible treatment plan as opposed to other practices who only recommend the few lasers they have. I trust and recommend Dr. Groff for all cosmetic derm needs. I have recommended him to many friends and everyone who has been has felt the same about him.

How to even start. I had a significant amount of rolling scars due to acne as a teen and young adult. After years of trying different things, I just decided that my self-esteem and confidence were worth at least a consultation. Dr.Groff and his team are amazing. He even gave me a 20% discount on every session. I never felt judged or looked at with pity. I’ve had four sessions and I get compliments on my skin now.
