I was terrified at the thought of having a hair transplant. In fact, I even canceled my first appointment out of sheer fear. As time passed, my hair loss progressed, and I became deeply saddened and depressed about my appearance. I dreaded looking at pictures of myself it was painful to see the change. This went on for almost two years before I finally decided to return to Dr. Dauer and his incredible assistant, Laura. It has been 15 + years since I have left a review for anything. Dr. Dauer and his staff have broken that streak due to the incredible experience I had. I am a 50 year old healthy active male that was losing most of my hair when after a lot of careful research I decided to setup a consult with Dr. Dauer at his Los Angeles office. Before the consult I had already made up my mind to go through with a hair restoration surgery – just not sure which actual procedure or surgeon. The consultant with Dr. Dauer was more like having an informed conversation with an old friend. Dr.Dauer walked me through the basics of the procedure and then his specific vision of my procedure. He spoke of his surgical work as his artistic expression of what should look correct for each patient – that really resonated with me. I in no way felt rushed or pressured to make a decision one way or the other. I’ve always found when someone is truly good at what they do, no pressure is necessary, and this was certainly the case with Dr Dauer. I decided at his office to schedule my procedure. I was fortunate and a client had cancelled while I was standing there, and I was able to get that date which was less than a week. The surgery was done at the Los Angeles office – not having to go to a separate surgical center was very convenient. I was awake the whole time with only local anesthetic shots in the beginning. From there on out I really didn’t feel much. The next point is hard for me to articulate correctly but here it goes – the entire staff from the time you walk in the door to the entire surgical staff are outstanding working together as a team like I have rarely seen. During the procedure every member of the surgical team including Dr. Dauer are talking to you, checking on you, and simply talking with you about whatever you like to make the time go by. I was incredibly impressed that during the entire procedure each member of the team had a clearly defined role and never stopped working or even slowing down once. The team worked together like the inner workings of a fine Swiss watch – like I said, very hard for me to completely describe. The procedure went by very quick. At the end I felt fine. Went home, ate a normal meal and slept fine. I am only 14 days out from my procedure, but the healing so far has been very easy. I am at the point now where I can do anything with my hair like use gel, get haircuts etc., Equally as important there are no red marks, scars, or anything else that would suggest I had surgery other than I now have the beginnings of a hairline again and my crown shows signs that it will fill in again. Truth be told I am absolutely blown away from the early results in only two weeks in. My hair somehow looks subtly different yet totally different in the best possible way. This is the artistry that Dr. Dauer was talking about during the consult, I am so grateful I placed my trust with the correct surgeon.

Dr. Dauer was really my last hope. I had two hair transplants after losing hair (I think from covid but not sure the reasoning) along my hairline. Im a woman and so my hair length and appearance is very important to me. My first two procedures were FUT and left a big scar on the back of my head which wasn’t the worst since I have long hair but would show anytime it was parted in the middle. Adding to that the density around the front of my hair was really not great even after two procedures. The place I went to was supposedly reputable but left me feeling bad about my decision. While it is still early on, the layout of the new hairs are so much better than the first two times. On top of that it looks like there were more hairs placed than either of the first two procedures I had and only 600 were placed at the front (I also had 150 placed on my scar to fix this issue as well). Adding to this he was able to do an absolutely ZERO shave procedure so I didn’t have to lose any of my hair density anywhere besides the grafts he carefully extracted. I have not found anywhere else that could do this or anyone that was nearly as reputable (spent a very long time researching after my first experienc). Cherry on top was that he was very kind and took all my concerns so seriously. When I told him I really didn’t want any of my haor other than the grafts touched he not only listened but was so understanding and did an amazing job. Can’t thank him enough. After all my experience with this procedure I can confidently say he is the only person I would trust with it.

Dr. Dauer did an amazing job at giving me natural looking eyebrows that compliment my face. I feel like 90% of the grafts stayed. I never had much eyebrows to begin with and when I had bad acne as a young adult I felt like a lot of them fell out and never grew back. My new brows are fuller and blend well with the existing hair I did have and friends have commented on how great I'm looking without being able to tell I had a procedure. After the initial surgery they will be obvious before they fall out, but when they grow back they will look natural. I did have some grafts on one side of my face get pushed out by the pimple-like formations and am considering the touch up procedure so one brow will match better. I think this due to my body though because the left side of my face always has a harder time healing for some reason.

Dr. Dauer and his staff did an incredible job with the transplant; no one was able to spot that I had one done and the recovery time was incredibly fast.
