I had a cesarean section with my son and was left with loose skin and a fold of skin over my scar. I had 8cm muscle separation as well. The recovery process wasn't anywhere near as bad as expected. The first two weeks were hard but I was back jogging again at 6 weeks. I highly recommend Dr Cockburn. The results were even better than i had expected.
I have had abdominoplasty the procedure was done in April 2013 and was successful. My next procedure is in 5 days time I'm having a body lift. Would like if anyone who has had the procedure could offer advice on pre op and especially postoperative things to expect and anything that helped them with their recovery. Will keep you updated on how I go. Updated on 24 Aug 2013: 20 August 2013 Day 1 All ready to go having my op today. Arrived at 7:30am at the hospital, went into pre op at 10:30 lovely nursing staff. My Dr Cain at 12:00pm to draw the famous lines for the incision.not long after that I was in theatre and put into deep sleep came back to the ward at 4:30pm only to find myself lying on my tummy with a catheter, drip and oxygen. It's so uncomfortable because I can't move much. Day 2 Managed last night all drugged up with pain killers..what a laugh having my breakfast on my tummy this morning. My Dr visited and put me at ease and said all went well. The nursing staff will be getting me up shortly. Dr said I can only stand or lye On my tummy I can't sit because it might burst the stitches.lm told the drip and the oxygen can be removed today....2 less obstructions Yey!! I would rate my pain level an 8 out of 10 but it's been controlled with panadol and trammel. The nurses just got me up felt faint and broke into a cold sweat terrible feeling thank goodness I have a catheter and I don't have to get up so much. It's a bit later on have got up successfully after this morning another 3 times. Day3 Had a bad night with hot sweats and feelings of vomiting. This morning I discovered a massive water blister on my tummy from an allergic reaction to the plaster. Dr sails all plasters to be removed and have been given a compression garment. Taken out catheter today finding it difficult gettin in and out of bed. Just had a long walk around the wards can't face lying on my tummy it is so uncomfortable, would be so much easier if I could sit. I'm dreading it when I have to pass a stool anyway will have to deal with it when it happens. Otherwise I'm feeling much better this evening. From what I can see and feel it looks like a job well done. As soon as I get home I will post some pic, silly me I forgot to take pics pre op but will try and find some old ones. Day 4 So difficult lying on my tummy so was up at 5 am walking round the wards. Dr visited said to remove all dressings and hopefully all drains will come out tomorrow. After my shower the nurse removed all dressings and everything is looking good. So far the pain hasn't been that bad only thing against is not been able to sit down. I found the abdominoplasty was more painful and thr recovery longer. At long last I past the dreaded stool without much fuss.this was my biggest fear pre op because when I had the abdominoplasty it was the worst thing to go through. This time I prepared myself by taking 2 table spoons of lactulose 2 days pre op and the same dosage post op every day, this was the best thing I did I feel so much better now. Anyone going in for a op my advice or tip is to keep your stools soft because all the pain medication and anaesthetic causes constipation. Updated on 25 Aug 2013: After removing my drains I was discharged round 1:00pm today. It didn't hurt removing the drains just a funny sensation so all is good.
had it done 4 days ago and even with the cast on i think it looks awesome, im thrilled already, i had almost no bruising but a bit of swelling, and ive been sleeping on the loungechair since i got discharged from hospital so the elevation can help make swelling go away. i was so so nervous going into the operating thetre, i was lying on the operating table and the anestesiogolist was finding my veins and i hear music playing and im like "do you guys listen to music when you operate i thought that was only on TV" and they're like yeah man cant you hear it, got a request? and i said i want something upbeat so my surgeons in a good mood, and i start getting really anxious cos he starts putting the drugs in and its all happening and i said "omg im so nervous holding the nurses hand" and the anestesiologist is like "your a bit of a wimp" jokingly and then after that i blacked out when i woke up i said to the nurse "do i look beautiful" and she didnt really reply, then i asked did we listen to music and shes like yes and aparently i asked her this question 3 times then asked for water and shes like "i dont think you should be drinking water just yet" after that i was wheeled to a private overnight room with a veiw which was loverly, i did it because i didnt like the look of my nose and its looks fantastic so far so for me there is no cons, but i will be updatinf this and posting photos Updated on 8 Jul 2011: day 10 so all is good although it feels uncomfortable to smile but no one can tell ive had a nose job theres no brusing and im really happy with it so far, theres still a bit of swelling but as you can probably see on the profile. so my advice to anyone is to definantly go for it but make sure you go to someone who is qualified and in australia is a member of the australian plastic surgery society. my Plastic surgeon is really good he did what i wanted his work is genious i love my new nose Updated on 10 Jul 2011: i didn't tell my mum i was getting it done and i was fretting about seeing her in-case she noticed. me: ah crap what if she notices?? i said anxiously riles: its never as bad as you think it is, sometimes when im mowing i think hey this isnt as bad as i though it was going to be and then dred it for the next month. me: lets make brownies!! :) so i live out of home and 12 days after the operation i saw my mum for breakfast and i didnt tell her i was getting it done because she was extremely against it. now i have $20 bets going with my dad and sister on weather she will find out or be able to tell and so far so good. So me and mum were sitting there for eating breakfast and she was looking at me funny and i was thinking to myself "omg she so knows, any minute now shes going to slam her coffee mug on the table point at me and yell "nose job" but as it happens she didnt and now i feel like im in the clear and she'll never know or if she does itll be old news, like this one time me and my sister were cooking poppadoms after school and the oil overheated and caught fire so i called the fire brigade to ask how to put it out and they insisted on coming around, we cleaned up everything and threw the pot in the bin before mum came home apart from range head with was melted underneath..nothing we could do about that. Anywhoo like 8months later she was cleaning the stove and range hood and she and was like mum: "what happened here, a fire???" me: "you probably did it without noticing dragon lady" mum: " no its like completely burnt on the inside" me: well me and chevaun were cooking papadums and the fire brigade came to put it out mum: "Fire brigade!!??" Chevaun: do you have some sort of hearing infirmity mother? me: "arg send me and invoice" the point of the story is that it was old news by then so we didn't get in trouble, so if she finds out in a year or 5 it'll be old news by then, although i did have an elaborate story about a kitchen catastrophe ready to tell if she did notice a change :) Updated on 30 Jul 2011: i feel like my nose was smaller when the cast first came off, now its been a month on and hmm i think i want a second nose job, i keep meaning to post photos but i still havnt got a digital camera
Not happy with nose job ended up assymeteic now I have to spend 25k in Sydney with another surgeon to get it fixed very unhappy it’s scooped in the wrong place and very uneven at least it was symmetrical before now it’s wonky I hate it
