I went to Dr.Schingo for my breast reduction surgery because he was the only surgeon in the area that had done a Plastic Surgery Fellowship (at NYU) and seemed to have the most experience with breast surgeries - specifically reconstructions and reductions which, from what I can tell are more involved than implants. I was impressed with the before and after photos that I saw during my consultation but I have to say my surgery came out better than I could’ve ever hoped for! My breasts are exactly the right size/shape for my frame and ‘perkier’ than they were when I was a teenager! I had little to no pain afterwards, didn’t need to take any pain medication, and was home the same day. I was up and about the day after surgery, and one week out I was back to doing most things normally without having to think about it (showering, cooking, etc). I am three weeks out now and the scarring is already pretty clean and discreet. Although I won’t be cleared to go back to all “normal activity” for another week, I am driving, taking long walks, and otherwise living normally without any pain or discomfort. I am beyond thrilled with my results and cannot wait to go shopping for my new body, workout without discomfort, and do all of the other things that I couldn’t do before my surgery!
Dr. Shingo is very meticulous and took a lot of time to explain the procedure to me. The results on my breast revision were amazing, with minimal down time and minimal scarring. I would recommend him for any type of plastic surgery procedure.
I met Dr. Fox and Schingo 17 years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. They were recommended very highly to me for reconstructive surgery after my mastectomy. I was very nervous but after talking with them, all my fears were put to rest and I knew I was in excellent hands. I am so very happy with the outcome of my surgery. Since then I have been going to their office for Botox and fillers and have had facials periodically for many years. All the nurses and staff are wonderful and make you feel very comfortable and will answer all of your questions.
Dr Vic Schingo is amazing. At 5'2" after 3 pregnancies I originally wanted tummy tuck only. I ultimately got full mommy makeover with breast augmentati. Dr Schingo could not have been more courteous. From consultation, through surgery and follow up he listened to me but also advised me based on his expertise and showed great attention to detail. I live in NYC now and 6 years later at age 50, I still get annual compliments from my gynecologist and breast radiologist who see it all. I would recommend Dr Schingo to anyone.
Ive been thinking about this for a while. After losing nearly 50 poulnds I was left with a stomach that just hung. I run at least 3 times a week, yoga 3 times a week. and mix other fun activities in, but no amount of sit ups or crunches was going to fix this. I met with the surgeon over a month ago, pre-admission testing done, surgery paid for, and am now writhing this from my surgical bed. I couldnt get preop photos to post, so here are a few taken from my bed.. Updated on 1 Dec 2016: saw surgeon today, she took out the pain pump, but my drains are still in as there is alot of drainage. hopefully, on my next appointment. i was able to grab a quick peek. I know everything is normal, and very swollen, but strange to look at my belly and see that it is bigger than ever!! Updated on 2 Dec 2016: day 4 looks like day 3. SWOLLEN. i did manage to take a mini shower. one of the drains was leaking during the night, so i woke up wet - gross. exhausted before i could get conditioner in my hair, so thats going to be a nightmare trying to brush later. but i did it. good enough. ive been taking colace and phillips milk of magnesia since day 2, but nothing. little worried that when i do finally go its going to hurt like hell. i am still taking the pain meds, only one pill every 6 hours (i just take it with my antibiotic). im thinking i can probably just cut that down to one in the morning (thats when it hurts the most) and one before bed (so i can fall asleep). maybe my gut wont be as slow. can not wait for the drains to come out!! then maybe i can pull my pants up! too funny, my kids are laughing at my behind hanging out. Updated on 6 Dec 2016: one drain out yesterday, feels so much better just to get rid of that. hopefully by the end of the week ill lose the other! Updated on 9 Dec 2016: day 10. last drain out today. still a little hunched over but it comes and goes. mostly when i first get up from sitting for awhile. went xmax shopping. tried on spanx. walked around quite a bit. most activitity ive done in two weeks. hopefully back in the gym in two weeks. i eat like a pig when left with nothing to do. doc gave me my pre op pictures so ill try scanning them in later - nice to see and remember where i started from when im looking at my swollen belly. Updated on 11 Dec 2016: on my last doc visit he gave me a copy of my pre op photos. tomorrow is two weeks. hopefully i wont be as bloated as i am today. i look like a swollowed a watermelon. sent my husband back to the store for mag citrate. cant stand it any more. Updated on 14 Dec 2016: out and about xmas shopping yesterday. walked alot around the mall. my husband took me to lululemon to try on new clothes. let me tell you scary. i tried on the same size tights that i always wear except they looked terrible. while they fit in the waist they all looked like i had a kim kardashian behind!!! holy hell. i tried my old pair on again this morning and they didnt look that bad so im pretty sure it was the swelling but i guess i didnt realize how swollen by hips / behind were too. i thought it was all in the front. seriously looked like a bad brazilian butt lift. i thought i could at least were my yoga tights around insted of sweat pants, but now not so sure. yikes. on a happier note, i am getting around pretty well. still sore and a little hunched but mostly a night with swelling. i stopped taking all pain medicine when the last drain came out not because it stopped hurting, but because the constipation was killing me despite stool softner, phillips milk of magnesia, prunes, and a ton of water. i had to resort to mag citrate twice when i was unable to go to the bathroom for at least a week each time, that was more uncofortable than the abdominal pain. i moved into spanx a couple of days ago. not a fan. definately more swelling with spanx than with the binder. so i decided to keep the binder on over the spanx for some part of the day. makes me feel better, i think it helps but who knows if it really is doing anything. i see the surgeon later today. he wants to see me in the spanx so we will see what he has to say. they are a size small, i cant really go any smaller, but maybe i need more compression than they are giving me. will see. also, i tried on bikini bottom. incision line is just a bit above. sucks. hoping this will drop as the swelling goes down. probably wishfull thinking on my part, but i can hope. ill ask later see what he says. Updated on 19 Dec 2016: i look pretty much the same day to day. frustrating waiting for swelling to subside so i can see what im going to end up with. up two pounds from yesterday!! so i know im a bloated mess. could barely get my spanx on!! Updated on 11 Jan 2017: On the beach...trying not to get to much sun on the belly button. Litlle swollen from holiday cocktails and such!! Back to reality soon enough. Updated on 16 Jan 2017: started back to work and the gym last week. wow am i tired. today's 7 weeks. managed some yoga, and a little running on the treadmill. felt so weird. tight, numb, kind of a weird pulling sensation. keep forgetting to update pictures in the morning. like to lose the holiday cookie and wine belly first.
My doctor Dr. Victor Schingo gave me the gift of my younger self back to me. I am so much in love with the way my eyes look now. My upper lids had drooped and my lower eyelids had these huge bags under them. He fixed me, he gave me back my beauty, my self esteem and my love of life back. My lower eyelids were very troublesome as they had fallen, a genetic formation and Dr. Schingo worked really hard to change the shape. He is a perfectionist, an amazingly gifted surgeon.
I had my liposuction done on various areas of my body. Dr Schingo did a wonderful job! I was very pleased with the outcome and the explanation of the procedure as well as the follow up care provided. He is an amazing surgeon truly an artist. He can help you make your vision a reality!! I would not let anyone else do my surgery!!
Thank you for your question. In reviewing the photographs provided, it does appear that your nasal tip is somewhat "boxy". This broad appearance is due to the convex shape and increased width of the cartilages that are responsible for nasal tip shape. In addition, there is a small muscle that runs from your nasal tip to the upper lip (depressor septi nasi ) that is responsible for the tip pulling down when you smile or talk. Therefore, a rhinoplasty can help reshape your tip and eliminate the muscle that is causing your tip to droop. An evaluation by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon is essential prior to considering surgery.
Objectively, the aging changes that bother you are mild, and using fillers to soften lines is a great place to start. Hyaluronic acid based fillers (Juvederm, Restylane) are soft, natural and generally painless to inject. In addition to fillers, non-invasive skin tightening treatments with radiofrequency technology (Profound) are helpful in patients who exhibit mild or early aging changes. The procedure is performed with the patient awake, using local anesthesia and requires a weekend for recovery. Finally, skin care with the use of chemical exfoliants (Retin A, chemical peels) and sunscreen can help your skin look refreshed, radiant and healthy. Victor A. Thank you for your question. If your upper eyelids appear significantly different than when you were in your teens or 20s, and if you desire more "skin show" above your eyelashes, then a conservative upper blepharoplasty may be appropriate. In planning surgery, it would be helpful to see pictures of your eyes from when you were in your teenage years to get a sense of your genetic baseline with attention to the height of your natural upper eyelid fold. Most patients want a post surgical appearance that is more rested, and in harmony with their natural, youthful baseline. In addition, your eyebrow position is normal and youthful which can be maintained with regular Botox treatments. In my opinion, a surgical browlift is not indicated and could create an unnaturally high brow configuration. Finally, if you want your eyes to look significantly different then your teenage appearance, then a detailed discussion regarding your aesthetic desires would need to occur during consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Thank you for your question. In evaluating your pictures, it appears that you have some recurrent skin laxity along the jawline and neck, in combination with age-related volume loss. A secondary surgical lift, "tuck up" can be a very powerful procedure, especially when combined with facial fillers to correct volume loss. The choice of fillers can be hyaluronic acid based, or your own fat for example, and areas along the chin, midface and "smile lines" can be volumized as a sole procedure, or in combination with a secondary lift. Evaluation of your facial aging by a board certified plastic surgeon, is the best way to establish a plan for rejuvenation that will best suit your needs. Victor A. Schingo, JR MD FACS
Thank you for your question regarding the desire to improve your abdominal appearance. Given what I can see from the front view photograph that you've provided, it seems that your abdominal contour still looks very good, despite previous pregnancies. A side view (and possibly a diver's view) of your abdominal wall is also needed for a more accurate assessment. However, I'm inclined to recommend selective, small cannula liposuction for the exercise resistant areas of fat that bother you. The c-section scar can be revised at the time of liposuction, especially if there is a scar depression. Based on the provided photo, it does not appear that you have abdominal muscle "stretching" (diastasis) that would require repair via a "tummy tuck" approach. However, additional photographs and a physical exam by a board certified plastic surgery are necessary prior to surgery to confirm the operative plan that will give you the best results.
