I just had procedure done by my Dermatolgist. First thing they did was take photos from multiple angles. My Dr. viewed so she had an idea of the areas she wanted to inject. Next process swabbed my entire face with numbing gel and let me sit till I was fully numb. My Dr then proceeded to inject me with the sculptra ; won't day it was fun but it was not unbearable. My Dr did a great job of talking me through each injection and before I knew it she was done. Worst areas were chin and lips. I was able to go back to work with slight swelling. I iced my face while I drove back. That night I did experience some pain in some of the injection sites and did not sleep too well. Today I have no bruising and minimal swelling. I have tiny red spots at injection sites but make up covers. The worst part is massaging but I understand it is critical to good results do I am happy to endure. I go back in 3 months to see if I need another vial. Hoping only need a half vial next time. Key is have it done by a reputable doctor. Mine is awesome. Thank you Dr. Hamilton Updated on 29 Jul 2015: Had a 6 month review and opted for second round of Sculptra in specific areas that did not fill out enough. I am very happy with results; they are very subtle and the process did not leave me bruised. I was able to go to work that day. I will be going in for one more session in October and then I think I will be looking good for a few years.
I’ve seen Dr. Hamilton as a patient over the last years, as well as my husband and mother. I had/have a complication due to facial fillers that she did not inject. I spoke to her nurse 3+ times trying to get an appointment to see her, as I am very worried, in pain, and could have an infection. Unfortunatly in my time of need to see my physician they first tried to tell me she wouldn’t see me, and only sees patients with complications from her injections. After multiple more call and text messages they finally said she would see me IF the injecting doctor call her and thought it was necessary. At that point after trying force to see MY doctor that didn’t want to see/help me, who would go In for a visit? It was beyond upsetting and emotional to know I thought highly of a Doctor, recommended her, and when I really scared that something was wrong, she didn’t want to help me. The good new is two other local dermotigist’s were open to seeing me right away even though I had never seen them before! After all, isn’t that the basis of what doctors are for, to help people? Think twice before trusting this practice, my advice is choose another provider that actually cares about their patients. I’m Happy to provide further information to anyone needed. I’m just thankful there were other doctors willing to help me!!!
I have been coming to Hamilton Dermatology for years to see Nancy D. But over the years, the wait has gone from no wait to up to an hour wait, and with this last issue, they have lost my business. I went in yesterday to have Nancy remove several lipomas from my arms, but despite being very clear when I made my appointment, they believed I was there to have Nancy look at "spots" on my arms, not surgically remove fatty tumors. Mel apologized and told me to come back today at 3:00 and they would get me right in. Well, apparently in their book, "get right in" means a wait of 45 minutes. Really? Nancy is great, but I have a job. I can't camp out there for hours. I'll go somewhere else.
Yes, Sculptra will continue to stimulate collagen at any age. However, it will be at a slower rate for someone that is in their 70s versus someone that is younger.
