<p>Great photos and glad you reached out. &nbsp;You definitely have excessive scarring, even for 2 months out from surgery. &nbsp;You should reach out to your surgeon, and don't wait until June to see them back. &nbsp;There are treatment options that can be used in the meantime to decrease scarring and obtaint a better outcome.</p>

I had a facelift 10 weeks ago and have one scar that seems to be getting thicker as time goes by. At my 1 month follow-up my plastic surgeon seemed pleased with my recovery and I am not scheduled to be seen again until June (6 months). Should I wait it out or be seen sooner? I appreciate all of your experience, expertise and dedication to the Real Self community. I will post 1 week, 4 week and current 10 week pics. Thank you!

<p>Great question... and unfortunately there is no way to determine why you feel that you look older following surgery. &nbsp;Why the outcome is less than you anticipated is likely related to the technique used, which is hard to comment on with the surgery being performed out of country. &nbsp;Having said that, there are always options, some more focused and targeted to address specific areas of concern that occur following cosmetic facial surgery. &nbsp;At two and a half years out from surgery it would be hard to say it is all a result of continued aging. &nbsp;A new set of eyes and follow up consultation with a trusted surgeon would definitely be work your time!&nbsp;</p>

I had a neck and mid face lift about 2.5 years ago in Costa Rica. My face was very swollen for about 6 months. After the swelling went down my entire face sagged much worse than before and I developed horizontal lines around my mouth and chin that I didn’t have prior to the surgery. I contacted the surgeon and told him and he said that I lost too much weight but I didn’t lose any weight! I look at least 10 years older than before this surgery. Why did this happen and can I fix it now
