Dr. Akinbiyi was great to work with. The initial consultation was allotted enough time so that I could have a thorough conversation with him, ask all questions and conducted in a respectful and professional manner. He provided me with several treatment options and allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted to ask. In addition, the staff is amazing and really cares for all the patients. The entire practice was available at any time to help fill out paperwork for my medical leave, answer questions, walk me through the process and providing support and understanding. The day of my procedure, everyone who provided care to me came to the pre-op room, introduced themselves, went over the procedure and gave me the opportunity to ask questions. I never felt uncomfortable at any point and was in excellent hands the whole time. My post-operative results have been everything I could have asked for and Dr. Akinbiye has not treated me as a "number" during my post-op follow ups. He has been as professional and caring at the end as he was at the start. Overall, I am 10 out of 10 pleased with my results and the experience.
To say his work is extraordinary would be an understatement. Going into the surgery I was very nervous but quickly comforted after asking several questions and Dr. A taking the time to explain and answer each and everyone of them, making me feel more confident with the process and his work. Great bedside manner, availability and willingness for me to reach out to him with any questions/concerns. I feel amazing! I cannot begin to describe how amazing it feels to run around on the beach and not worry about how I look in a bikini! Doctor A, you do amazing work! Thank you for changing my life!
I work in technology, a field in which there is considerable ageism. It's objectionable that we live in a society in which women "Of A Certain Age" become in effect invisible (professionally and otherwise) and I've never been one to conform to societal expectations of appearance. While I decided to have my procedure initially with my career in mind, it's undoubtedly for myself as well. I look in the mirror now and think "oh there I am"; the outside matches the inside again. Dr. Akinbiyi is extraordinary: he understood my goals and implemented them and furthermore, when there was a complication unrelated to his part of the surgery, he took the initiative to manage my care. A true professional.
Dr. Akinbiyi was phenomenal to work with. I've had my c-section area addressed by another surgeon and it didn't turn out well. Dr. A had a whole new approach to get me healed properly and he explained everything so well. He doesn't rush you out of the room like some, he will answer any questions, put things in easy terms, and even is a skilled drawer (he drew a picture of how the skin grafting would work). I cannot thank him enough for his skillful work and getting me on the path to healing! 10/10 recommend!
From start to finish my experience with Dr. Akinbiyi was wonderful! After several disappointing consultations with other surgeons I was feeling deflated and hopeless. Then I meet Dr. Akinbiyi and all my worry vanished! He not only is a skilled surgeon but takes time with each of his patients. He answered all my questions, never judged me for my concerns or worries, and always had a heart that was kind. I had a lower body lift after a large weight loss and Dr. Akinbiyi did all he could to make sure my results were of my satisfaction! I would recommend him over and over again.
Dr. Akinbiyi has a great bedside manner. However, my tummy tuck scar is so high I can't wear most bikinis (kind of defeats the purpose). Sadly, he said there is nothing to be done for it. I don't think he has actually performed that many tummy tucks--mostly breast surgery. If you decide to use him make SURE you bring a pair of underwear or a swim suit so your scar won't show after. I am very disappointed that mine shows :-( $8,000 is a lot of money to pay for disappointment.
I saw Dr. Akinbiyi at his office in Cedar Rapids offices. He did an excellent job listening to my wants and concerns. Then in return he did such an amazing job at explaining everything and telling me what I have to do. He made sure I was taken care of and was okay with everything. I very much appreciate his friendliness and care! What a super surgeon!!!
My experience with Dr. Akinbiyi was completely first rate. The moment I called for the consultation, I was treated with respect and dignity. I was quickly scheduled with all the information I needed. Dr. Akibiyi is a professional and made me feel very at ease. He answered all questions thoroughly and took his time making me feel secure with such a big life decision. The day of the surgery his calming presence put me at ease and he never stopped making sure I was comfortable. I felt very informed and supported from day one. I am so pleased with the results and his particular attention to every detail. I recommend him to any friend or family member because of the obvious skill, care and consideration he provides to all of his patients.
Great experience! He is a very caring surgeon and listened to exactly what I wanted. He is very detailed in his explanations on everything (surgery, recovery, restrictions, etc). Great bedside manner!
Best decision of my life. Breast lift and lower body lift after losing 120 pounds. Totally trusted Dr. Akinbiyi and his team. So professional and caring. I had breast cancer in 2014 and had reconstructive surgery. After losing weight, I had lots of skin that made me feel uncomfortable without clothing. Not anymore. :)
Thank you for your question. "#11" lines are caused by activity of the corrugator supercilii muscle, a paired band-like horizontal muscle located right above your eyes. One option to treat them involves the use of neuromodulation. If you have been requiring increasing dosages to achieve the same result, your body may have developed an immune response. This "resistance" to the effects is caused by your body producing antibodies that fight or inactivate the toxin. An alternative, and more permanent, solution is the surgical resection or cutting of the corrugator muscles. This will provide long term resolution of your symptoms. This can be accomplished either endoscopically, through small incisions hidden in your scalp, or during a brow lift when you will already have an incision made. Either approach can provide you with long lasting results.
