After doing a lot of research. I made my decision to get my nose done by Dr Susan Chobanian. The process was very easy. I went in for consultation. She took some pictures and then showed me what my nose will look like. We agreed to do the surgery Jan 13, 2022. I was very impressed how clean the surgery center was. We had also agreed on doing a little fat crafting. When I woke up after the surgery, I had no pain. I was very surprised. My follow ups were weekly with the doctor and then it was monthly. As the months passed my nose kept getting prettier and prettier as the swelling was going down. I am so glad I chose Dr Chobanian and trusted her. I would definitely recommend people to go see her. She delivers what’s she says.
I am in love with my new profile. My self confidence has gone up so much since my surgery. Thank you Dr. Chobanian. I like her honesty and being straight forward with me from the first appointment I saw her.
My experience with Dr. Chobanian was amazing! She is so amazing at what she does! Thanks to her I am no longer insecure about my nose anymore and I seriously could not thank her enough! She is literally the best!
Thank you! Thank you! For my beautiful injections. I look natural, just the way i wanted. I look years younger and refreshed. I have my Glow back. Dr. Chobanian took her time and listened to what I needed and gave me just that.
Thank you Dr. Chobanian for taking such great care of me for my tummy tuck. I was so nervous about getting the procedure done, but Dr. Chobanian and her staff was so amazing and helpful. Especially sos I she took such great care of me during and after the procedure. Sosi was professional and knowledgeable. Sosi answered all my questions and it helped me with the healing process.
I ha e always hated my nose and thought it was too large for my small face. It was wide, long, and bulbous. I recently graduated with myaster's degree and as a gift I bought myself rhinoplasty/septoplasty and a chin implant. I went on three consults and finally decided to go with Dr. Susan L. Chobanian. She has a great deal of experience, I believe over 25 years! She is confident, knowledgeable, and straight forward. The staff was helpful and kind as well. I am two weeks post op and my nose is still extremely swollen but my profile already looks great. I had my nose narrowed, de-projected, nostrils minimized, and tip refined in addition to fixing my deviated septum and turbinate reduction. I can already breath through my nose two weeks post op and am happy for that! My chin implant was a medium sized one put externally and it really balanced out my face. I will update with more pictures as swelling subsides gradually. Updated on 2 Jul 2015: Swelling is still present but nose is taking shape everyday. The doctor assured me that it will get 50% thinner. Updated on 3 Jul 2015: I wanted to share the before photos Dr. Chobanian took prior to my surgery. Although my after nose is still swollen because I am early in recovery, you can see how much my nose was reduced. Updated on 27 Aug 2015: The swelling is slowly subsiding, however, it is extra swollen in the mornings and when I have a lot of sodium the day before. I noticed light exercise such as cardio that forces me to perspire helps alleviate some swelling. I am happy with the results but impatiently waiting for the final result. My chin is also still swollen and impairing my speech slightly.
I broke my nose when I was 12 and it became crooked and droopy. Not to mention it left me with a huge dorsal hump and breathing problems. I spoke to my friend about rhinoplasty because her entire family has gotten a procedure done and she referred me to Susan L. Chobanian. She changed my life! The hardest part of the whole process was admitting to myself that I was unhappy with my nose and deciding that I was really ready to make a change. As I am only 17 I had to speak with my parents about going through with the whole process. After hours of them trying to convince me not to, they finally agreed. I called Dr. Chobanian in October and my consultation was scheduled for the following week. As soon as Dr. Chobanian saw me, she knew exactly what she could do with my nose. I showed her some pictures and she told me which ones would go well with my face and how she could alter them to fit my face better. She took photos and scheduled my next appointment. During the following appointment we discussed the photos, she drew what my nose would look like, and then we scheduled a surgery date and I was set. On December 22 I woke up, went to the surgery center, spoke to the anesthesiologist, and spoke with Dr. Chobanian about the procedure and answer any last minute questions I had. I then went off to surgery and that was that! Updated on 31 Dec 2014: Dr. Chobanian is definitely the best in the business! Here are some of the pictures of my experience.
f I could give a negative review I would. First of all if you go to her don't think that you actually have an opinion. Even if you tell her how you would like to look she will do it her way (and then tell you that its fine when you're running out of her office in tears in each post op). I not only had a borderline botched operation done by her - but I also had to get it redone and corrected by another doctor. STAY AWAY. I went to her because she was a family friend - I trusted her even when I felt as though she was not listening to me and she left me with literal and emotional scars. Not to mention almost a year looking deformed. Seriously, go somewhere else. ANYWHERE else.
This looks like a superficial infection at the incision line. The yellow/white drainage might be a dissolvable suture your surgeon may have used underneath the surface of the skin in order to hold the wound together. The nose is full of bacteria and often harbors a resistant strain of staph called MERSA (methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus). I would recommend Bactroban (mupirocin) antibiotic ointment twice daily after cleaning. I agree with your surgeon that this will heal. Don’t worry. Be patient. Go back to your surgeon for follow up
The pictures of your nose are not very clear, and do not show a lot of detail regarding the skin. However, the pictures do seem to show some rosacea of the skin. This really does not look like rhinophyma. Being raised, educated and trained in Wisconsin I gained a lot of experience with rhinophyma, which is common there. Rhinophyma affects men and women and is largely hereditary. Achieving an excellent cosmetic result for rhinophyma often includes a combination of surgery and laser treatments. Recently, I performed a rhinoplasty on a patient with a very thick, oily rhinophyma like skin. Her nose was wide and bulbous. Three months later I treated the entire nose and face with the new AviClear laser. The laser targeted and destroyed the oil glands and the nose contracted beautifully. The quality of the entire facial skin improved. However, if the problem you have is more due to rosacea, I have used a vascular laser treatment following rhinoplasty with much success. I use the Excel V laser or the Excel V Laser Genesis treatment following rhinoplasty, and have received excellent results. The laser treatments promote improved skin contraction on the nose and improved skin texture of the entire face. I think that would be a good treatment plan for you. However a personal consultation would be necessary.
The shape of your nose is not that unusual in my practice. I often see nasal bones that are separated, like yours, in men and women. It’s called an open roof deformity, and it is often hereditary, caused by nasal trauma, or the result of an unsatisfactory rhinoplasty. In your case, it is impractical to perform surgery only on the nasal tip, and ignore the bony deformity. Remember that surgery requires personal downtime, with some discomfort, and the necessity of an operating room and anesthesia. If you decide on surgery, it would be best to correct everything during one surgical procedure. I would not advise doing only half a rhinoplasty and leave the rest to be corrected with fillers. Correcting the bone and tip during one surgical procedure is not going to add much more swelling, bruising, discomfort, or healing time. In my hands, it will take one week to heal whether a tip rhinoplasty or a complete rhinoplasty is performed. On the other hand, if you absolutely do not want surgery, fillers are a nice alternative. Fillers can be used to camouflage, bony nasal deformities, elevate droopy nasal tips and smooth irregularities. Remember that fillers are temporary and usually need to be touched up or redone every six months to one year. Fillers are a nice alternative to surgery but the cosmetic result is more limited, Many patients try fillers first, before making the decision to do surgery. Surgery or fillers are the choices for achieving cosmetic alterations of a nose. However, to perform half a rhinoplasty and then do fillers is not a practical choice
If the injury to the nose did not cause a fracture, but only bruising and black and blue, your bump is probably scar tissue due to bruised and scarred nasal skin. I see this often. I would really need to see and feel this nose in person. However, if there is no other deformity-- if the bump is not bony/if it feels like thickened scar tissue-- then a steroid injection would help dissolve the bump. Please note; the injection should be done cautiously, and gradually. A very small amount of weak steroid should be injected. The result should be monitored in 6 to 8 weeks. If the bump is not completely dissolved, a second injection may be given. Less is more. If the bump is due to a bony deformity, then surgery is necessary. That would require a simple shaving of the nasal bone. However, it should be done safely in the operating room with an anesthesiologist. An in person evaluation of this bump is necessary.
This appears to be a skin problem (either an injury, a contusion, scratch or pressure point) or an infection (a pimple or cellulitis from hair follicles inside the nose). There appears to be some thinning of the skin creating that dimple. This needs to be evaluated in person. More appropriately, you should be seen by a dermatologist. It does not appear to be a surgical problem. It should be treated medically.
