Does your bite feel different? If the bite is off after that much dental work it can cause pain on chewing and hot and cold sensitivity. You should make an appointment ASAP for your Dentist to recheck your bite.
Repairing decay around a veneer with bonding is a good short term solution.
The decision should be made only after you have gathered all of the pertinent information. This should include a consultation with an Endodontist. If your crown is in good shape currently the apicoectomy procedure will not necessitate a new crown. If after your consultation you decide that extraction is the route you choose then the extraction must be completed 3-6 months prior to implant placement. A bone replacement graft may be suggested to preserve and enhance the bone in the area that the implant will be placed. There are many competent general dentists whom may extract/graft/place the implant and restore it as well. The key is for you to find this person. You may also have an Oral Surgeon or a Periodontist do the extraction/graft and implant placement. In my opinion the best way to find the right Dentist is by asking many questions during your consultation such as; How long have you been doing these procedures? How many have you done in the last 12 months? Can you show me any photos of cases you have done personally. Do you have anyone who had these procedures done that I may contact by phone or email? Good Luck. Steven Cohen DDS Westland, MI
Many times we can use Invisalign to make cosmetic corrections without adressing jaw relation issues. It is important to know what your goals are. If you are having pathologic problems due to your bite ie. TMJ pain, excessive tooth wear or others these things will not be adressed without adressing your bite situation. If you are having no symptoms but simpy want to straighten your teeth then Invisalign may work fine. Beware that almost always after Jaw Surgery, conventional braces are needed so if you do Invisalign and then have Jaw Surgery you may need another round of braces in which case youe Invisalign investment will be for nothing. If you are considering surgery I think you need to decide for sure yes or no prior to your decision on invisalign.
