I chose my Dr. After a referral from a family member who had a good experience with him. I have always wanted a fuller chest for many reasons and I am very excited for this new adventure. 5 days away! Updated on 30 Jan 2017: Tomorrow is the day and I am so nervous and excited at the same time. The surgery is at 7am so I am happy that it's early while I am still sleepy. The reviews from this page are so helpful knowing what the recovery process is going to be like. I know everyone is different so I am hoping this goes smoothly. Which I am sure most women would agree to that. I am going to the store to buy some snacks and drinks while I recover, any recommendations on snacks to go with painkillers and recovery in general? Updated on 30 Jan 2017: I am also very active. Shooting guns, snowboarding, running, hiking, etc. I am putting everything off for awhile but the doc said I will be able to pick everything back up again In time. Any advice on when you can start working out again and being active again? Updated on 31 Jan 2017: Well today was the big day. First time surgery actually went really well, and what AMAZING staff to help me during the process. Got there at 5:45am , was in pre op til 7am, then the nurse gave me what I thought was just an anxiety drug but it was the anesthesia! Next thing I knew I was waking up at 11am in a different room. The surgery lasted two hours so I was actually done with surgery by 9:15. I guess I was just snoozing too good to wake up right away!! Now an update on the boobs... I was in pain when I woke up but it wasn't terrible, it was just a new tight and heavy pain that I am not used to. I still keep getting a burning sensation on my right insicion area under the nipple. It seems to burn when I move around too much and plus the car ride home sucked because all of our streets are frozen over from ice and snow and have made thousands of pot holes and ruts all over the city streets. Ouch!!!! So overall today hasn't been terrible. But it has been very uncomfortable , slightly pain ful, sometimes sharp pains, tightness, heaviness, can't move my arms around much, not really any nausea, somewhat groggy but overall in a good mood and so happy to have the surgery over and done with. I will post a lot of before and after comparisons tomorrow and I will track the progress as often as I can. I found it VERY helpful to read all the other girls progress from consultations, sizers, pre op, post op, pictures , etc.... So hopefully my story will help someone too! :) Updated on 31 Jan 2017: I wanted to share photos of the sports bra they put me in. So comfy and soft. I am keeping my boobs iced, and will for 48 hours per doctor order. Now that I got surgery out of the way today, the healing process begins!! Fingers crossed. Updated on 1 Feb 2017: Today is day 1 post op. I had an appointment to see my Dr. At 8am and he said I was looking good, he felt around and opened the bra. He touched each nipple to see if I could feel them, and I could feel the right one better than the left but I could still faintly feel the left. I slept OK for the first night , woke up every couple of hours. I slept on the recliner and my husband slept on the couch to help me up when I had to pee. It's hard not being able to do things yourself... Like open a Powerade bottle or the pill bottle.... Hoping to be not as sore tomorrow but we will see. My back has a cramp in it but I think it's just from sleeping in the recliner. But I think part of it is how heavy these things are!!! New feeling I guess. Pain is tolerable, it's just so tight and so sore. Stay up on the pain killers for sure, I could see how going without longer than they suggest could really put you in some Pain. Overall..... Tired, sore, tight chested, mild to medium pain, sometimes burn sensation at incision, groggy but happy to have the surgery over with!!! Just keep on with positivity through this healing process. Updated on 2 Feb 2017: Day 2 post op... Last night was a rough one. Tried to sleep in my own bed instead of the recliner, and I woke up suddenly because I was so sick. Threw up too many times to count, couldn't keep an anti naesea pill down. After about 6 hours of that , I was finally able to take a pain pill and anti nausea. I've just been happier g off and on since last night. The pain is still tolerable bt not when you throwing up! Updated on 3 Feb 2017: Surgery was Tuesday and it's now Friday and I still haven't really let them loose out of the bra I was sent home in. They feel so big like they need to be contained in their holder lol... I want to shower so bad.... When was the soonest you showered? I tried to call the doc today but they are closed on Fridays... Updated on 13 Feb 2017: Update! 13 days post op today and I am feeling more and more back to myself. The first week and a couple days, I was really depressed even tho this surgery is something I've wanted for so long. I think it was a mix of emotions stirred up from the pain pills and being out of my normal routine. I was so scared I had made a bad decision because they felt so HUGE to me after surgery , but the swelling has gone down a lot and they are looking a lot better and I am really happy with the size now. It felt good getting back to work, I had taken 4 days off from work and then had the weekend so a total of 6 days off. I work in an office so I don't do a lot of physical stuff when I'm there which helped. And I am back on my daily vitamins and back into my normal routine. Minus any heavy lifting at home. Overall today I am feeling really happy to have had the surgery, and that it and the first week of healing is over with. I am liking the size even more, I am not having boob greed since I chose to go with the bigger of the two sizes I was debating on. Everyone told me to choose the bigger size if I was debating a size. But anyways here are some pictures of 13 days post op. They are from my bathroom at work so I didn't take a full picture without a top, this is the best I could do haha Updated on 15 Feb 2017: Pictures! 15 days post op. I keep getting a pain in my left side that hurts pretty good. It comes and goes. When I massage it it seems to help a little, however my doc suggested I don't do massages but said I can massage if it helps the pain. It's just not something he recommends right off the get go. Updated on 9 Mar 2017: I'm not sure if I ever shared the size I ended up going with and saline or silicone so I need to update ya'll! I ended up going with 420cc saline under the muscle. I knew a few friends who had gone with saline and we're happy with their results. Today I am 37 days post op. Crazy to think how fast the time has gone by!! But I do love my results more and more everyday. Updated on 9 Mar 2017: 35 days post op pictures. Still very sensitive nipples, have a pain under my armpit on my left side that comes and goes, they are much more jiggly now, softer, feels more and more part of me everyday, I still wear a bra to bed, the swelling I think is completely gone, I will start applying vit e cream on the scars soon.
