I have very fair skin and have always struggled with sun damage. I wasn't sure what I needed but knew I needed something. I searched the web and found Dr Channey. I consulted with Dr Channey at his Fort Lauderdale office. During the consult he examined my skin and told me about Co2 Laser. I was scared at first but did some research and decided to book the treatment. I was given some topical numbing cream to apply before the procedure and arrived with my hair in a ponytail ready to go. Dr Channey has a very warm personality and put me at ease upon arrival. The process is about 20 minutes and bearable and not as bad as I expected. It feels very hot during the procedure. After I was red and looked like I had a bad sunburn. The redness continued overnight but the sensation of heat faded. Over the next week my face basicly fell off and new fresh skin replaced the old freckle skin... remarkable. Now, months later I am so happy I did the procedure. My skin is smooth, pores are invisible, and sun spots are gone... GONE. I feel tighter also.
This review is on thread lift with Dr Channey. Previously, I have had lip filler and fill for the area above my lips as well as some botox and CO2 laser with the Dr. I am writing this review because I see a lot of reviews on thread lift that say it is of short duration. This is from both providers and clients. I want to update this review as time goes on so you can see how this procedure "ages" with time. I went to Dr Channey last Friday for a boost to my eye (brow lift) and some laser (CO2) but he looked at me and said he wouldn't do laser and instead suggested thread lifts. I had researched various lifts some time back, but couldn't remember specific details. Because of the sagginess of my jowls around my mouth, chin, and neck, my thought is that I can really only consider a lower neck and chin lift. Since I trust Dr Channey, and I found out it would take under 2 hours and a reasonable cost, if it duplicated lift results, I went forward. The numbing was the most painful part and really not much different than any filling procedure. After the lidocaine was in, I really did not feel anything, but I could tell he was securing to just above my ears behind my hairline, somewhat deep. It did not seem to be a trivial procedure in terms of what seemed like intricacy, but really after the numbing, the actual procedure took around 45 minutes to an hour. The Dr took great care during the process. He warned me it would be painful for the next 5 days, and although I definitely felt something serious had gone on, it was not so uncomfortable that I even had to take Tylenol for it. I have gone back to have sutures removed today, the results during the week had improved, but after the lift we still had some sagging and loss of volume in the chin and loss of definition in the jaw and neck, so I asked him to support the edges of lip and do a Nefertiti lift and orange peel chin lift with botox which will take some days to show up. Dr Channey also filled along the jaw line with a couple vials of Juvederm. I am somewhat heavy presently, so there are limits we can do, but I honestly look in the mirror and essentially see myself as I know myself to look. It looks like a younger me. And it looks like me. I will update you as the botox along the chin and neck take effect to let you know how it is going. Make sure you ask them to numb you in case, like me, you prefer to be numbed when getting filler. Otherwise, he usually skips it. :) So far, so great! And the Dr indicates that because he attached these silhouette threads to the muscle, that they should last a full 2 years. I will update you on that as well. Updated on 11 Jan 2021: Hi, the good news about the procedure is it is a surgery and got me used to idea of doing something more aggressive to lift my facial muscles. However, I did not think the results justify the cost. It did prompt me to seek out a double board certified plastic surgeon though for facelift, upper bleph, and necklift. I also am tired of putting filler for jaw as I have always had weak chin. So also prompted chin implant. Below photos from day of other surgery so you can see the limitations.
I had been feeling out of sorts for years. Insomnia, temp issues ( too hot or too cold ), very little interest in sex and lack of interest in most things. Mood swings... I just didn't feel myself. I had been getting laser treatments from Dr Channey for some scarring and we began talking about hormone therapy. He has a long resume for hormone therapy and had mentioned I should be on a hormone program. I decided I was up for trying anything to maybe feel a little more like "me". He spent an hour going over the science and what to expect and I started on a program with him. I began with a combination of creams and pills and like magic after a month I began to feel more comfortable and sleep better and not long after I had more interest in sex and more energy. I cant believe I could have been feeling this good sooner. I feel like myself again. I am a believer.
