48 Year Old, 2 Kids and Ready for Invisalign. New Jersey, NJ

I just started my Invisalign treatment earlier this week. I had my molds taken in late July, returned from vacation and received my first set of Invisalign trays this week from my orthodontist. I was expecting about a year total, but there are a total of 46 sets of trays which I am currently being recommended to wear 17 days per tray at 22 hours per day so I expect the total treatment time to be a good bit longer. The first week has gone well. I've felt a bit of scratching on bottom tray with my tongue, but there's been no major discomfort. It's taken a few days to get used to the trays in my mouth. I've had the initial urge to clench down on the trays, but that has stopped for the most part with time. I've been sticking to the 22 hours per day recommendation. I found an iPhone app, ATracker, which I use to track how long I'm wearing to aligners per day to help stay on course. It's become sort of a game to ensure I'm wearing the trays for the requested amount of time. As for cleaning, I clean every morning with Retainer Brite in an ultrasonic cleaner. I brush and floss after every meal. When in the office, I use Colgate Wisp toothbrushes which have been working out the past few days. I've certainly improved my oral habits over the past month preparing for Invisalign. I've also now cut down on snacking which may help lose a few pounds as well. My next appointment is in early October when I will start tray 3. I saw the chart and I will receive 10-12 buttons. I wasn't expecting to have that many as I thought I was a less complex case. I have no idea what to expect once they are attached, but I'll deal with it as I really want this treatment to be a success. Updated on 9 Sep 2014: A few people have asked about the ATracker iPhone App. I have two tasks "Invisalign On" and Invisalign Off" that I switch between when I take the trays in or out. It will keep track of how compliant I am being to ensure I am wearing the trays 22+ hours per day. The app is free a Pro version is available for small fee.
