Most doctors start at a lower dose for the first month because higher doses can sometimes cause a flare at the beginning. The dose is monitored carefully to make sure you receive the appropriate amount of medication to achieve the most optimal result. I do not recommend increasing your dose without speaking to your doctor. You will definitely see improvement...accutane works very well! Just have to give it more time.
