Risk for Sculptra with Keloid Conditions?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The manufacturer of Sculptra recommends that the product not be used on individuals with a history of keloids.  Sculptra works by stimulating collagen and the source of keloids is excessive collagen stimulation.  It is possible that you could develop lumpiness in the areas treated.

After 15 years of experience  with local anesthesia with IV sedation for breast augmentation this is my preferred method. Patients are very comfortable, experience quick recovery and have had no anesthetic complications.  I see no need to use general anesthesia, although some physicians do choose this.

Each insurance company has different criteria for determining whether they will cover breast reduction surgery.  You need to have a consultation with a plastic surgeon who will gather information such as your height, weight, breast measurement, photos and whether you have a history of neck and back pain.  The doctor will then submit that information to your insurance provider for pre-authorization.  If approved, your surgeon can schedule you for the procedure. Best of luck to you!

In my experience, many young males your age have "fibrous" tissue, particularly in the flank areas, which takes more time and laser energy to treat.  Assuming that your surgeon used the appropriate laser settings, you should see good results by about three months.

I would recommend that you consider a transconjunctival blepharoplasty for the lower lids to reduce the volume of the three fat pads in that area.  The addition of a filler such as Belotero along the infraorbital rim would also enhance the result.

Afraid 475cc May Be Too Big?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Given your height and weight a 475cc implant seems a bit large in my opinion.  If you have done the rice test and feel nervous about the size you should consult your plastic surgeon prior to your surgery date.  In my experience, a 300-350cc implant is a much more common size choice.  I believe a 475cc implant will make you a large D cup.

Replacement of Saline Breast Implants?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Since you liked the result that you had for 20 years, I see no reason to change the implant position.  A silicone gel implant above the muscle would likely look and feel even more natural than the saline did.  Choose an ASPS plastic surgeon and make the choice together.

While having surgery overseas may seem appealing because it is usually more affordable, you may actually end up paying double should you experience complications that need to be treated once you return home.  Seek a plastic surgeon who is a member of the ASPS, committed to treating you if you experience complications.

If you saw results the day following the procedure, remember that because you should see that result again.  The swelling which develops over the 2-3 weeks following the procedure doesn't even begin to resolve until about 4 weeks later.  It will then take up to 6 months to see your final result, particularly in the thighs.  Be patient and wear your compression garment to help swelling resolve more quickly.

Radiesse on Actual Cheekbone? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Radiesse is best placed just over the bone (periosteal) or at the level of the deep dermis.  It could take more than 3 syringes to give you the desired result and to give you more of a full face treatment you may wish to consider Sculptra as an alternative.  It's always best to follow-up with your provider.

Incredible, Unbelievable Results from Fraxel Re:pair! - Raleigh, NC

I had full-face Fraxel Re-pair performed by a board-certified Plastic Surgeon approx. 5 years ago. It was painful, around my eyes, nose, & mouth....but, in the long run, it was worth the price, & more. My freckles, sun damage, & fine wrinkles disappeared. People constantly tell me that I look like I'm in my 30's (I'm 55). I followed my Surgeon's instructions exactly, went through about 8 days of red/peeling skin, & my skin has been smooth ever since. It also eliminated my post-menopausal acne. I'm absolutely thrilled with the results!

Amazing Results - Raleigh-Durham, NC

I am so pleased with my laser liposuction. I am in my 50s and didn't expect to be a model but needed help on areas that I struggled with. She was highly recommended and she lived up to her reputation. I was so happy with the results and can't thank her enough. Connie, her assistant, was wonderful. She is a tiny framed individual and going in I only wished I could look as great I wanted the confidence back in my looks as well as my demeanor. I may not be the model type but to me I feel like I look as good and my confidence is so overwhelming. I dropped 1 1/2 pant size and look, to be honest, terrific. My husband and friends comment on how great I look. what that does to my self worth is profound. So anyone who needs that extra boost I highly recommend Dr Sandra Fearington. She is amazing and I have scheduled to have another procedure in another area. I LOVE me now!!! Thank you Dr. Fearington!!

Love Love Love! - Cary, NC

Love my Juvederm! Looks natural and gives me that "perfect pout" without looking fake! I hate needles, but this really didn't hurt at all! Pros- results last on me at least 6 months. Cons- my lips are pretty swollen the day I get it done, so I try to get it done on a day when I can just go home and keep an icepack on it. Totally worth it!

Very Happy with my Results - Raleigh-Durham, NC

I had the Smart Lipo procedure done on my upper arms, bra roll and lower back ( muffin top) areas. I am very pleased with the results. These were done over two procedures (lower back seperate). Downtime was minimal and healing was quick, but it was at least 6 months before I saw the final results

Best Botox - Raleigh-Durham, NC

The best Botox I'ver ever had! I look completely natural. One of my coworkers remarked how great and relaxed I looked! I had been on vacation and hadn't see the group in about a week. Nobody asked if I'd had anything done, they just thought I looked rested and relaxed. I buy my skincare products from Dr. F. as well. I'm definitely going back for a touch up!

Excellent Smart Lipo Results - Raleigh-Durham, NC

I went to see Dr. Fearrington for a consultation regarding some stubborn fat on my abdomen. I had seen two other doctors but chose her because she spent the most time with me and answered all my questions. She was very honest about the result I could expect, however the results were even better than I had hoped. She and her staff were very kind and made me feel completely at ease with my procedure. I will be going back to have my inner thighs done soon. I cannot recommend Dr. Fearrington highly enough!

Had Fraxel Re:pair Yesterday for Slight Acne Scarring, Pore Size - North Carolina

Well, it's only been 24-hours, but so far...so good. I had the re:pair for light acne scarring on my cheek, fine lines, and pore size. I'm 36 years old and a fair blonde. I posted a camera phone photo just so you can see the red. The flash is kinda blocking some of it, but it looks like a very bad sun burn! I was way nervous before the procedure, but it wasn't too bad. They gave me 2 ativans and rubbed a numbing cream into my face. The actual procedure was less then 1/2 hour, and yes it hurts, especially around the hair line where the numbing cream is less. It was like a tattoo kind of pain, but totally doable for 30 mins. My face is red, read, red and still a little swollen. However, my scarring looks great! So, I'll post more pictures once I heal some more! Updated on 14 Oct 2011: Today is day 3 and it looks like it's healing okay. Still red, slight peeling. I do feel like my doctor didn't fully prepare me for the "after." Slight sunburn? Uh, no! You look like a burn patient! Also, my skin feels like sandpaper and it's itchy. I keep layering on the Aquaphor, which helps. Still kinda undecided if this was worth it. It was a very painful procedure, and my skin issues were slight. I think this is probably a great procedure for those with severe acne scarring. I DO see a difference in the area on my cheek and fine lines. I'm going to remain undecided until I fully heal. Updated on 3 Feb 2012: Absolutely not worth it. It was very painful, and there is not one bit of difference. Nada, nothing...zilch. Not even a wee bit of improvement. I'm not sure if it was my doctor or the procedure, but I'm astounded that I spent 1800...for a facial! Updated on 30 Jan 2013: I thought I'd update again. There was literally no difference. None. Not one single softening of line, pore or scar. I wish I would have tried VI peels before spending this kind of money. I've seen these great photos, but maybe it was my skin or the doctor..but I was very disappointed.
