I had heard very good things about Dr. Diedrich and MidAmerica Plastic Surgery. So I decided to make a consultation. Going to the consultation, I was very nervous. When I arrived everyone in the office was so nice and helpful, it made me feel so much better. Katie (patient coordinator) was like talking to a really good friend and that made it easy for me to discuss exactly what I was wanting or thinking of doing. Dr. Diedrich came in and gave me a run down of what to expect. I never felt rushed and he wanted to make sure I understood everything. I was so happy with the way the consultation went, I scheduled a surgery date that day. Honestly, the recovery has not been too bad. I was off pain med’s day 3. I’m currently living in my binder but I feel amazing! Dr. Diedrich is the absolute best! I would 100% recommend him and his wonderful staff to anyone.
My results are phenomenal. I never imagined the surgery would be as painful as it was. Dr. Diederich and staff met with me and my husband multiple times to help ease concerns (sometimes after office hours). The professionalism, care, concerns, and easy access to help floored me. I am in the medical field, and this excellent care is unheard of. I am only 2 weeks post surgery, and I love my results, which are only going to improve with healing. Updated on 24 Nov 2020: 3 best post surgery bras: BALI, OLGA, SOMA. I am very physically active at work, and I struggled to find a comfortable bra to return. Save time and buy one of these ahead. I purchased a LG and I am now a 34-36 D. I will be ordering these on line to eliminate the store to store shopping right now. Hopefully after 6 weeks, I will be shopping for sexy bras again! Updated on 29 Nov 2020: Still sore, but hopefully I am on the upside of this surgery. When I decided the size, it was really difficult. Because of the amount of pain I am in, I wish I would have went smaller. When I have a traditional shirt on, most people say they can not tell a difference???? I feel it, I hope I gradually start enjoying them! Updated on 29 Nov 2020: I have been asked to post a pre picture. My surgeon has one of me prior to surgery, but I do not have any pre pictures because I never was happy with me breasts. Her is a picture which clearly shows what I look like prior to surgery. Barely a A cup. Updated on 6 Dec 2020: Just about 30 days post surgery. My husband and I are debating if I should return to work or not. Being off work the month before Xmas is not ideal, but physically I am miserable. I just can not get through the pain. I still love the result 100. I wish I would have went small simply because of the pain. NO PAIN NO GAIN Updated on 11 Dec 2020: Thanks Mid America Plastic Surgery/ Dr. Diederich! I thought I was opening a Christmas card, and instead, I was pleasantly surprised to have a beautifully had written thank you card and gift certificate to the SPA. Wow, thanks for making a girl feel special! Updated on 12 Dec 2020: After 6 weeks, I am starting to enjoy, appreciate, and love my results. Dr. Diederich had full faith in producing amazing outcomes, and he nailed it. Not many 41 almost 42 year old women have breast this fabulous. I feel lucky! Updated on 13 Dec 2020: I feel like it is hard to show my new favorite body part off in public. I want to show them because they are amazing, but I worry about the looks from stranger and friends. My opinion is this shirt property shows my new body. Little sweater helps me cover up if need be. Updated on 14 Jan 2021: I received photos from my surgeon’s office yesterday. These photos are never flattering, and I am being vulnerable, but here goes. I am ready to start working out again and sculpting other problem areas. Now when I work out, I will not lose the breasts first like usual.
When I first went for my consult I knew as soon as I was finished talking to him that he was the Dr for me. I had been to consults with other Plastic surgeons and was not impressed. I like the idea of having drain less TT. No drains to worry about or hassle with. No worries about drain holes getting infected or healing. I also liked that you spent the first night in the hospital. It gave my husband and I peace of mind. Dr Diederich will answer any questions you have. His office personal are very nice and if you call with a question they are very helpful. So far I have been very happy with my results and my experience with him and his staff. Would recommend him to anyone. Planning on more Surgeries and I will be going back to him.
I initially had my implants done in January 2012. I was borderline in need of a lift, however I opted out of the lift in order to be able to afford a tummy tuck at the same time. I have no regrets in that decision. But as we all know, gravity is the devil. So 6.5 years later.... undergoing implant removal and a lift. Updated on 18 Sep 2018:
No words can explain how amazing this man is, his staff is super awesome as well. 4 hours PO. I went to the surgery center in Glen Carbon, IL these ladies are absolutely stunning, wonderful, amazing and much more! I absolutely love these ladies/gentlemen!!
I am 14 days post op breast reduction. Absolutely the best doctor I could have asked for. He was very willing to answer all of my questions even if I asked the same ones over and over. :) Dr. Diederich is young and fresh and confident and talented. My surgery was a breeze. I highly recommend.
Before and After Tummy Tuck with muscle repair. I researched a lot before I decided what doctor to do this procedure. It is very important to know what the doctor specializes in to get maximum results! The PS will probably do every procedure but doesn’t mean they specialize in that specific procedure. You will have the best results researching someone who specializes in the procedure you want.
I have always been probably a 32AA, wearing an A cup and always wanted a BA since as long as I can remember. After having 2 kids and breast feeding them for a new months, I ended up with small, even more deflated looking chest. Finally, I decided that enough was enough and I was getting my BA. I was done talking about, it was time to DO IT! I was referred to my ps by a friend of a friend who went to him and was very happy with hers. She told us that he regularly holds seminars and if you attend one, you receive 20% off surgeons fees. My husband and I attended one of his seminars. We are so glad we did. We got to learn about his education, certifications and previous patients. Attending this seminar made us feel SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE with him and the entire plastic surgery process. We waited a few weeks and I scheduled my consultation. My consultation went great. I found out I have a BWD of 13.4 and I started sizing implants. Before we even went in, my husband and I decided that I would get saline. We are both much more comfortable with saline. If I have a rupture, I will know right away and what is seeping into my body is only salt water and I can still be screened for breast cancer. Anywho, so I used rice sizers pre consult and had an idea of how many cc's I wanted. I started off in the low 400s and just went up and up and up the more I got used to myself actually looking like I had breasts. The ps's office had a weird range of sizers. I tried on 493's and they were almost just right. The next step up was 533's....Those seemed like a big jump to me and too large on my frame. Since I am getting saline, I am hoping that whichever size is put in, i can get overfilled to a little over 500. Part of me feels like, starting out at 12 year old boy status, I may want bigger and won't really achieve the look I want with 500s and that I may need to go bigger. Other parts of me feels that 500s will be just right. I really don't know, but I will definitely not be going lower than 500s considering the look I want. (I would like to end up a 32ddd). If anyone has similar stats and advice they can offer, I'd appreciate it! My pre-op is on December 30th and I am anxiously awaiting that day! I will post wish pics and eventually before pics (once I build up the courage) :) Updated on 2 Dec 2016: Updated on 28 Dec 2016: My pre-op is in a few days and I am getting so nervous. I initially wanted a friend to go with me so I could have a second set of eyes, but that didn't work out :( I've waited for so many years and it's all almost finally here! I can't believe it!! I have one teeny tiny fear about getting salines...I have the fear that one is going to rupture at some awkward moment leaving me with a deflated boob. Did any of you with salines ever have that fear? I hope it doesn't leave me holding myself back from normal everyday things. Updated on 4 Jan 2017: Ok, my pre-op went well. I paid my balance and got to talk with my ps about the look I want and went over some questions I had. The day before I got a call from the hospital with my surgery time. 7:30 a.m. YAY! I was hoping it'd be early. So anyway, the reason I'm calling all 500s. I'm nervous. I don't want them to be massive on me. I loved the sizers on me--I feel like i can dress them up or down and they don't look like "too much." Ok, here's my fear. My fear is that they're going to settle massive and I end up hating them. I've looked up other 500s with my stats and think they look great. I'm just always worried I'll end up the exception. I will post some photos in the sizers. Updated on 4 Jan 2017: Updated on 14 Jan 2017: Surgery was done on Thursday of this week. Ps said everything went perfect. It was my first time going under, so I was out just from the "cocktail " the anestgesiologist gave me to calm down. I don't even remember being wheeled into surgery. Waking up sucked. I was really really groggy all day and vomited about 6 times. I should've known that would have been the case since the same thing always happens to my mom and brother. Anyway, I'm 2 days post op and love the way they look, but just down bc I underestimated the pain. The pain sucks and it's hard to just sit around watching my husband take care of our 2 kids. Below is a before and 1 day post op pic. I'll probably take pics every other day or so as they settle more. Updated on 21 Jan 2017: I went back to work on Tuesday. It was a tiny bit rough, but I was able to do it. The only uncomfortable part was the drive 40mins to/from. Had to drive into work with an ice pack on them due to "morning boob" tightness. I was a little down this week, but I think it's bc at wor I felt I had to keep them "discreet". Once the weekend hit, I perked up and put some regular clothes on and am so excited about them. Before regular t-shirts made me feel frumpy. Now, I put them on and feel like, "man, I make this look good!" Haha. Here's the girls at 1 week post op. Updated on 28 Jan 2017: Feeling MUCH better this week! I've started slowly getting back into a normal routine. Still have soreness so onice it starts, I slow down and take a rest. I started picking up my 9 month old again. Not for long periods of time. Just taking her from point A to point B since it's still not comfortable. I'm still not comfortable carrying her up against them. Just doesn't feel right. My boobs are starting to look and feel more like boobs. I'm excited to see how much they change week to week. I took a shot in a sports bra that I'm pretty excited about since before I had no reason to even wear a sports bra haha. Updated on 30 Jan 2017: Updated on 5 Feb 2017: 3 weeks post op and I'm feeling good. They still get tight and uncomfortable, but I'm almost to the point of feeling like normal! I still have bruising and my glue is still around my incision, but once that subsides, they'll be looking great! They're dropping nicely. Hopefully not too fast, is that a thing? Here are some updated pics. Updated on 20 Feb 2017: See my ps this week. Hopefully will be going shopping for some new bras that are not sports bras this weekend! Very excited about that. I bought some steri strips for my scars, which look amazing, btw! Hopefully I will get the green light to get back to working out. Updated on 17 Mar 2017: Feeling more and more natural everyday! Updated on 8 Apr 2017: Updated on 30 Apr 2017: Absolutely love them still. I have got use to the size so I have moments of boob greed, but then talk myself down and know that they are just perfect. With my frame had I gone bigger, it would probably be more uncomfortable than it's worth. They're just right :) Updated on 20 May 2017: Shopping for swimsuits this season has been interesting. Lol. I'm now completely on the other side of the size spectrum....but I'm not complaining. I either have to buy ones that come in bra sizes or large that have a tie back otherwise the band is too big. I normally don't buy more than one, so here is the one I chose. I love it! It was hard to figure out what was the "appropriate " amount of boob to show since I've never had them before! I think this one is just right. I can still wear it around the kiddos and still can show the girls off. The other pic posted is my implant with a flashlight up to it. Another group I am apart of gave me the idea. You forget how large the sizers are, but this pic definitely reminds you of how big the implant in there is! Updated on 23 Jun 2017: I remember trying on 420cc rice sizes thinking, "man, those are big! " next thing you know, I got use to seeing myself with 420cc boobs and then 450 and then 500. Now that I have 500s. I am use to seeing myself with them and feel I could go bigger. The hubs says I'm ridiculous and deep down I know he's right, but isn't it funny how things change like that? I posted a pic of my scars. I feel like they're a little red, but then again, I have nothing to compare it to.
After a significant weight loss I was left with excess skin around my stomach and lower back. My weight loss was achieved through diet and exercise and over the course of several years. Although I was healthly my body didn't reflect how I felt or the hard work I had endured. Choosing to have this surgery changed not only my physical appearance but my self image. It was the best decision I have made.
Dr Deiderich and his staff were very helpful. I lost 120 pounds after a gastric sleeve. I did not reach my goal weight but had an extremely large panni. This made working out difficult. I decided to go through the step of the panniculectomy. I am 2 weeks post op and so happy with my results. Dr Deiderich is a perfectionist and it shows.
Recovery after breast augmentation can vary from patient to patient and surgeon to surgeon. There are some steps that can be taken; such as rapid recovery breast augmentation, which includes a specific protocol to maximize your recovery. In particular I don't allow patients to get in the pool / tub for 2 weeks (showers are fine post operative day 1). Nothing that bounces the chest / works the chest (weights, running) for 4 weeks. Scars improve quickly and continue to improve over years. This is not intended as medical advice. Nothing substitutes for consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.
This can vary depending on the particulars of your abdominoplasty. In our office we typically give the following explanation: 1-2 weeks off for office type jobs.3-4 weeks off for slightly more demanding jobs.5-6 weeks off for heavy demand jobs (factory works, etc). If you had repair of separated muscles often there is a 20 pound weight restriction for 6 weeks. This varies from procedure to procedure and surgeon to surgeon. I recommend discussing this with your surgeon and be sure to follow their advice. *Each patient varies, nothing substitutes for consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.
I think the first step is decide how much this bothers you and how important this change is for you. The second thing to consider is being realistic about the improvement it offers. I would recommend consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. If you feel pressured, don’t do it. A good surgeon will not pressure you into surgery, they will provide realistic options and outcomes. Make sure you listen and have a clear understanding prior to making any decision. Then, only if it’s right for youc, proceed.
This is a common question we hear. Many woman want the lift but are hesitant about the scars from breast lift. The goal of a breast lift is to correct the changes that occurred in pregnancy, weight loss, or over time due to natural aging. Breast lift includes trading well placed scars to provide a more youthful appearance to the breast. Breast lift can be completed through many different scar patterns including minimally invasive, scar around the areola, vertical, and traditional “anchor” patterns. The method that works for you is decided by your current breast and your goals.Breast implants are designed to assist in returning volume to the breast. One of the most effective methods to obtain upper breast volume is through breast implants. Implants, however, do very little to provide lift to the breast and thus many women, after pregnancy or weight loss, require a breast lift.An implant placed with no lift would provide increased fullness but at a lower position on the chest wall and a sub-optimal result. Many patients that decide not to obtain a lift find they are dissatisfied with the results and ultimately elect to proceed with an appropriate mastopexy. Your best option is to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon that can examine you and give you the appropriate recommendation.
