Absolutely outstanding care, compassion and end result. From reception being so accommodating with appointment times and such friendly ladies. Dr Cooter thank you for working so hard on giving me the best results possible and having my health as your top priority. To the nursing staff thank you for your care and always smiling faces.
About 21 months ago I had 350cc HP implants placed subfascially. I'm 5'8 and 110lbs and I've always felt that they were too large for my frame. They looked good and my surgeon did a great job but they were too big for me and I especially disliked the roundness in the upper pole and the unnatural projection compared to my skinny frame. I always wore sports bras or bralettes to make them look smaller. Regular bras or anything that lifted them or had even the slightest contouring made them look huge and very rounded in the upper pole. I felt that I looked heavier in clothes and that my boobs just looked too full. They looked great naked but they still would've looked great naked if they were a bit smaller. I've always had a very lean, athletic look and I liked that. I realise now that all I wanted from a BA was a little bit of cleavage and more fullness, not a huge size increase. I just wanted to be able to wear dresses and low cut tops and have a nice breast contour. Prior to that, I wasn't able to create cleavage, even with the best push-up bras! After a lot of debating and consulting with my PS on 2 occasions, 6 months apart, I decided to downsize. I was really worried about sagging, loose skin and what would happen to the nipple position. My surgeon recommended downsizing by 75cc and changing from a high profile to a moderate plus. This would mean the width would be unchanged but I'd be decreasing the projection by 1.2cm. I'd done a lot of reading about downsizing and everyone said that 75cc would be negligible and I'd barely notice a difference. Online forums can be dangerous places because a lot of the women there tend to have quite large implants and like an obviously 'augmented look'. Well, I'm 8 days post op and just had my bandages removed this morning. I can definitely notice the difference! I'm already fitting into 10C bras (was a full 10D before revision). They're firm-fitting in a 10C at the moment but I'm still swollen. I suspect that I will end up comfortably fitting into a 10C. Reading all of the reviews on here from women who've downsized or explanted encouraged me to go for it. Seeing how the skin improves drastically over time following explant or downsizing really gave me hope that I would be happy with the outcome. I'm fairly young (30), no children, was an A prior to my BA and didn't have any ptosis. I got to see them this morning for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised! They are slightly droopier than before (but not much) and they are a little square at the bottom from the stitches. However, I've seen how the skin shrinks back over the first few months and also how that squareness rounds out with the weight of the implant. So far, I'm feeling great. :) 75cc can definitely make a difference. I felt it as soon as I woke up from surgery and cupped my hands around my boobs. Of course, this depends on your frame and how much natural tissue you have. I'm very skinny with a narrow BWD (11cm) and a 27.5 inch underbust. When you're thinner, a little goes a long way, even if you're tall!!!!! I was talked into going larger because of my height and I've heard of this happening to other women too, who ultimately end up feeling too large. I don't blame my surgeon. I think he honestly tried to give me what I thought I wanted and I didn't look ridiculously large, just too big for me. Happy I downsized! Will update photos to show how they change over the coming months :) I look skinny in clothes again! Updated on 7 Jun 2018: photos Updated on 17 Jun 2018: Updated on 30 Jun 2018: 5 weeks post op now. Feeling really good about my decision. Feel more like myself and I can still absolutely create awesome cleavage when I want to. I like feeling slender and petite again. I'm amazed that 75cc has made such a big difference. My partner says he can definitely feel the difference and says they're much softer now! Updated on 5 Jul 2018: Bought some new bras (just cheapies from k-mart :P). There is still plenty of boob for me! I can play them up when I want to. Updated on 7 Jul 2018: Loving the new size!!
I'd been researching breast augmentation for 8 months prior to booking surgery with Dr Cooter. I've always been very slim with not much to fill out a bikini. I was actually ok with having small boobs and never thought in a million years I'd have a boob job. I'm 28 years old so I'd gotten used to them and even quite liked the lean, athletic look I had. I just always wished I filled out dresses and clothes better and looked more womanly. I hadn't researched breast augmentation much in the past and had the impression that boobs jobs always looked very obvious and fake (think Pamela Anderson, Victoria Beckham). I always thought it was much better to be small than have that obviously augmented look! Then my sister had her boobs done a couple of years ago and I was amazed at how natural they looked and how nicely they suited her frame. I started researching and looking at before and after photos and was absolutely convinced that I wanted this done for myself. I spent months going back and forwards changing my mind about surgeons, placement, round vs shaped, etc. It's all very confusing and so hard to know what will complement your frame! Implants look completely different on different people. I saw 2 well-respected surgeons and they had slightly different opinions in terms of size. It was actually quite difficult to choose between the 2 but one impressed me more than the other! He was much more thorough in his initial consult and I felt like his after photos were more in line with the look I was trying to achieve. I was very afraid of going too big but at the same time didn't want to be disappointed and regret going too small. In the end, after much deliberation, I left the decisions on placement, size and profile up to my surgeon. Dr Cooter decided on the implant size while in the OR. He actually ordered in 6 different implants for me (in both mod+ and high profile) and selected the best fit on the day using a temporary sizer. I'm ecstatic with the results. I cannot fault anything about the process. The size is perfect for my body. I look full but not overdone. I've healed remarkably well. I'm only 20 days post op now and I have no pain. I was able to sleep on my back from the second night. I have no regrets at all. I'm sure there are still plenty of changes to come but they are already looking great and I know they are only going to get better! I thought I'd share my story here as I found this website so useful when doing my research. :) Updated on 24 Aug 2016: 171cm, 50kg, Pre-BA: 10A Updated on 24 Aug 2016: Found some more photos from 15 days post op Updated on 25 Aug 2016: Updated on 1 Sep 2016: Updated on 8 Sep 2016: Everything's going great. I love them! Super happy with the size. Updated on 14 Sep 2016: Updated on 22 Sep 2016: Today is my last day having to wear the post op bra. Yay! I'm really happy with them and I don't even notice that they're not mine. They feel completely a part of me and it's nice to actually have a bit of shape in my clothes. I'm really happy with the size. I think my plastic surgeon was right on the money. I was really afraid of being too big but they're not at all. They look full but not ridiculous. When comparing my goal photos the my final outcome, they're pretty similar. Dr Cooter did well. :) Updated on 30 Sep 2016: Updated on 7 Oct 2016: Updated on 27 Oct 2016: Updated on 1 Nov 2016: Updated on 6 Nov 2016: Just a collage to show my progress over the weeks! I am 23 years old, 168cm, 55kgs. Prior to surgery, I was an E cup. I didn't really develop breasts until my late teens, but once they started growing, they didn't stop. My main problem with my breasts was that I couldn't fit into nice clothes. I would constantly wear jackets in the middle of Summer to hide them, and I never dared to wear a bikini. I also used to get tight shoulders and neck pain, which interfered with my ability to work. It seemed that if I put on any weight, it would first go onto my breasts, and if I lost any weight, that would be the last place it came off. So unfair! I really had no other option but to have breast reduction surgery Updated on 9 Dec 2013: I have added some new photos, I hope they help others considering breast reduction surgery. Updated on 9 Dec 2013: I am now 6 days post op, doing really well. I have only had one other surgery before, which was getting my wisdom teeth out last year. That was really straightforward, and I would say this surgery has been no different! The only pain I experienced was when I first awoke in recovery, but I was immediately given Fentanyl (an opiate), and the pain subsided almost immediately. I was also really itchy for a few minutes (?a reaction to the anaesthetic), but that subsided quickly. I haven't had (or needed) any pain relief in the last 3 days. The only discomfort I am currently experiencing is a vague tightness between my breasts when I sit down for longer than an hour. I am fine when I am walking or lying on my back. I am so glad I had this surgery done and so pleased with my results so far. Updated on 9 Dec 2013: For anyone wondering, I had a procedure known as the modified Lejour technique. I will be going to my Plastic Surgeon's office again in 2 days for the second part of my procedure, which involves tidying up the bottom of the vertical incision, so that I am not left with any bunching under my breasts. Some surgeons do not complete the second part of the procedure, and leave the bunching to resolve on its own. The second part is relatively simple I am told. I am looking forward to removing my bandages to get a good look at my new breasts! I hope they are a large B/small C. They are very much looking that way. Updated on 9 Dec 2013: Updated on 15 Dec 2013: I had the second part of my procedure on Dec 11. Surgery lasted less than an hour and I went home the same day. I took Panadeine Forte for a couple of days, but the pain has completely gone now. I was also fitted for a surgical bra, which was a 34C. Initally, I was worried that they were a little too big, but my husband thinks they are perfect. It is only early days, so they may get a bit smaller. Updated on 15 Dec 2013:
Very happy with the results, dr Cooter is very skilled and can be recommended. Unfortunately his reception staff are unfriendly and did not leave me as patient with a good impression, takes a away from my otherwise good experience.
