I found out my abdominal muscles weren't repaired the first time, so I'm going back for a revision tummy tuck. Dr. Wallace is a very well known surgeon. He works with those who need reconstructive surgery. I've seen his work and I feel comfortable under his care. My surgery date is in June 2023. Updated on 4 Feb 2023: Dr. Wallace Ms I agree that my previous surgeon did a great job on my lower abs. It’s my upper abdomen that is the problem. I want to look great for my 50th, so I’m going back. Updated on 17 Jun 2023: The countdown is on and my surgery date is close! As I reminisce upon the list I made the first time, I did need a lot of what’s on there. The Biocorneum scar gel was given to me by my surgeon. I’m ordering it because it worked beautifully. I’m ordering the VitaMedica surgery recovery supplement vitamin kit. I remember it helped me feel great after a week. Let me begin my preparations. Pre-op appointment is July 7. Updated on 6 Jul 2023: My pre-op appointment is tomorrow. My surgery is two weeks from today! Updated on 8 Jul 2023: Yesterday, I had my pre-op appointment. My surgeon told me all he’s going to do. He’s a pure genius. He’s trusted to repair disfigurement on children at our local cancer care hospital.I got my round of prescriptions. Now it’s time to shop for necessities. Updated on 17 Jul 2023: I will be getting my revision surgery this Thursday. I purchased my compression garment off Amazon. It feels amazing! I also bought a cheaper off TEMU and it feels great too! I thought it would feel cheap because of the price, but it doesn’t. The Amazon brand is Feelin Girl and the TEMU brand is Daicaiyun. They are both inexpensive. I pretty much have everything I need. A friend is letting me borrow a walker. I remember how handy that was. I’m nervous and excited. Stay tuned… Updated on 22 Jul 2023: It’s done! I went in Thursday morning and had my surgery. Two things this time was different from the first time. I was given some pills to help me relax, then they rolled me into the operating room. The next thing I know, I was in recovery. My ps says that I will wear a compression garment after seeing him Monday for my first postop appointment. It has something to do with the drains. I’ve been sore and drowsy. I can get back and forth to the bathroom. My husband has been wonderful. Let the healing continue. Pics and updates to come… Updated on 25 Jul 2023: I had my first post-op appointment yesterday. The drains were removed. I finally got to shower. It felt good. I’m still sore. I’m using Tylenol and it’s working fine. Here’s a few pics. I’m still swollen, but I’m looking coward to my final results. Updated on 25 Jul 2023: They are the best! Stephanie is awesome. She made me feel at ease. She’s such a nice person to work with. Dr. Wallace is an absolute genius. He said he repaired my abdominal muscles all the way down and there was not much lipo needed. I definitely recommend! Updated on 28 Jul 2023: I am 8 days post-op. I felt good enough to go to a meeting at work. I was exhausted when I got home. I don’t want to overdo it, so I’m taking it easy this weekend. Pain- Mild to moderate. Still have to walk slowly and slightly hunched over. Tylenol is working. Sex- Don’t even think about it. Swelling- Not too bad, it’s still flatter than before, especially on a full stomach. Appetite- It’s back! But I’m making healthy choices. Updated on 2 Aug 2023: I feel good. I’m starting to feel like my old self. I’ve already returned to work, and I’m taking it easy there. I’m still sore and avoiding heavy lifting and such. My husband and I made slow, gentle love last night. He was far overdue. My incision is healing. I am glad that I am almost feeling like myself. Even with swelling, my abs are flatter than before. Updated on 6 Aug 2023: I am mostly feeling like my old self. I have most of my strength back, though not 100%. I have been going to work and my husband and I have resumed intimacy, slow and gentle. Listen to your body. If it’s uncomfortable, stop. Tomorrow, students come back to school. I’m no longer a classroom teacher, so less stress on the admin team. I still have some swelling, but it’s still flatter than it was. I’m still sore and coughing is still painful, but it’s getting better. I need to take my Tylenol more consistently to help with that. I’ll add more pics when my swelling goes down some. Updated on 13 Aug 2023: I am so ready to see my final results. Some days I’m flat, some days I’m swollen. My incision is sore, but Tylenol helps with it. I was very swollen Friday. I think I overdid it. I’m not supposed to do any heavy lifting, but I handled a box of books and paid the price. I’m still on my healing journey. This morning, I like what I see! Updated on 20 Aug 2023: So, I have started getting lymphatic drainage massages. After the first one, I was really swollen. That was because I didn't drink water afterwards. I had the second one yesterday and I drank water on the way home. I look a lot better today. I know I need to increase my water intake. I think it will help with a lot of my issues like constipation. I'm almost at 100% back to my old self. My incision is healing well. I turn 50 in January. I'm going to be so fine by then. Stay tuned... Updated on 24 Aug 2023: I gave into my craving for Slim Jim’s and Pringles which are high in sodium. I swole so much afterwards. So, do not eat salty snacks during recovery. I’m getting a little better now. I’m tired of wearing this compression garment, but it’s doing it’s job. I’ve been getting lymphatic drainage massages twice a week. I’m on week 2. They help with the swelling. I still feel a little soreness when I use my abdominal muscles, but my incision is healing beautifully. There’s more to come on my healing journey! I look decent in this dress though! Updated on 23 Sep 2023: In a tight dress, I’m looking pretty good. I see slight swelling from time to time. I’m down to my last 2 lymphatic drainage massages. I had one today. My husband wants to take me out. I slipped on this dress and he’s like Whew wee! Lol! Updated on 24 Sep 2023: I’m loving my results o far! These abs though!
Not even 24 hours post-op, and I am already thrilled with the results and feeling amazing. Dr. Wallace is truly a master at his craft. I completely trusted him and his expertise to know what would look good on me. The surgery was easy and recovery so far has been that way, as well. Pain is minimal, only slight pressure and tightness on chest as is typical. I've gone about today pretty normal, able to walk around in the house as much as I'd like, talk and hangout with my friends while watching TV. I am wearing a bra for comfort-sake (though, I don't have to if I don't want) and won't take it off until I shower, but from what I can see, there is no bruising or redness. Recovery has been a piece of cake, but I'll be careful not to overdo it and keep relaxing and taking it easy. I credit the minimal signs of pain, bruising, and redness to not only the pain meds lol but also to the hands of a masterful surgeon. I am 5'10, 132 pounds. I was previously a 32 B but hardly filled out the cup unless it was a push up bra. I will find out what I am in my post-op appointment, but currently wearing a 32 D bra and fill it up completely. I did under the muscle! Photos below! Updated on 24 Jun 2020: So far everything is going super smooth! Pain is so minimal now that I don't need to take my narcotics. Tylenol works fine. My breast feel very tight, firm and swollen currently. It's definitely discomfort, but not painful. They still have that torpedo look to them, but I can't believe how great they look after just one day. Insane! I can only imagine how they'll look in a few months! I haven't lost my sensation in my nipples. If anything they're more sensitive. I do have some numbness on the right side of my breast, but that's it. Still no redness or bruising which is awesome! Updated on 30 Jun 2020: A little more than a week since surgery and each day is a new adventure! I'll try to note the biggest changes I've seen throughout this week. Days 1-3: Little pain outside tightness, heaviness on chest. I also took my pain meds on time which helped a lot. Mornings were the worst were I'd feel the most tight. Getting out of bed was difficult, I'd need my mom to come the first two days. And times when I was on the couch, I'd need my brother to help me up. Drove in a car the second day (passenger), big mistake!! Little bumps hurt so bad! Also realized the side of my right breast is numb, though I do have hypersensitive nipple sensation. The worst part of the first few days was getting extremely constipated. I took stole softeners, mirolax... nothing worked. And I started getting dreadful cramps, so I took magnesium citrate. That fixed the issue lol. I stopped taking the opioids on the third day since the constipation wasn't worth it. Now on Tylenol, but I think I can stop tomorrow (Day 9). Finally, go extremely freaked out because I developed air bubbles under my skin and had no idea what it was. Of course I googled and it said "gas gangrene infection" so I almost went to the ER. Ended up calling the surgeon and found out it was simply air from the surgery that my body would absorb (and it did!), but man don't freak out if that happens... it feels like rice krispy treats under the skin and you can even hear it sometimes, but it's totally normal! Definitely scared me though. Day 4-6: Tightness still there but now able to get out of bed by myself. Much more mobile. Ability to lift arms increased. Now can ride in cars with no problem as long as it's not gravel road lol. On the 5th day, I drove around a lot and walked almost all day... on day 6 was incredibly swollen. Had to dial back on the activity. The most pain in my boobs at this point was my left incision. Day 7-8: Breasts are 15% softer. I can move them slightly though they are very firm still. Mornings are worse this week than last. I feel tightness, tenderness, burning sensations in the morning. It's when I feel my nerves awakening the most. Also morning boob as well. It's not bad, just uncomfortable and annoying (like a pulled muscle that sometimes burns inside sporadically). I still gotta remind myself to take it easy. I want to workout so bad and that has been the worst part of this. I think they look a little more rounded and "fluffier" since the first photo. Excited to see the changes for week 2! Updated on 17 Jul 2020: Recovery has been easy and ridiculously fast thanks to the incredible surgical technique of Dr Wallace! After only my 1 1/2 week checkup, I was cleared to resume my intense workouts (you read that right) of stairmaster and weighted lower body exercises as long as I wore a sports bra and avoided pectoral muscle activation. Outside of exercise, I'm free to not wear a bra. I usually do though just because I like the comfort and support, but it's never been required even immediately post-surgery. I was able to sleep on my sides again after four days and completely sleeping normal now. My incisions are flattening and my implants are already incredibly soft. The top and sides feel completely natural. I'm able to push them together, squeeze them, and they'll only get softer from here. Nipple sensitivity is still much higher than before and I honestly hope it stays that way lol. At this point, they feel like my own boobs. They feel naturally like they've always been a part of my body. They don't look much different from the last photo, but they FEEL a lot different. Just much much softer and natural.
Dr Wallace went above and beyond to reconstruct my breasts after they were botched by another surgeon. He did a phenomenal job and I have referred many of my family and friends who have loved him as well!
Dr. Wallace come highly recommend and now I see why! I had old silicone implants from 1983. Dr. Wallace recommended they be replaced because of the age of the implant and being certain one was ruptured. I had been flat chested and had only about 200cc implants. After showing pictures of my ideal breasts to him, he recommended 530cc Sientra silicone high profiles in order to fill the breast pocket and have the lift I was looking for. I was a little apprehensive that they might be too big. But Dr. Wallace knew exactly what he was doing. He performed a capsulectomy and implant replacement. The ruptured implant was a mess and had adhered to my chest muscle. He removed all of the old silicone. They are the perfect size and shape and look great on my frame! I went from a B cup to a D. My breasts look and feel very natural and looked great right after surgery. My incision was placed so expertly in the fold of my breast that even after only 10 1/2 weeks I can barely feel or see them. If you are looking for the best plastic surgeon for augmentation or any type procedure, I would definitely go to Dr. Wallace without hesitation!! His staff is wonderful too, especially Pidge! Thank you Dr. Wallace!!
I was literally depressed having left the dermatologist's office and seeing the hole that was left in the side of my face as a result of skin cancer. I lost a small part of an ear as well. Dr. Wallace was recommended but I knew deep down inside that I would probably have a large crater of a scar for the rest of my life. Dr. Wallace saw me then mapped out his game plan. Once surgery was over and bandages were removed, I looked in the mirror and saw a tiny line of a scar. Incredible! I could not believe that Dr. Wallace had corrected something that looked so bad. Totally pleased, no, ELATED with his work!
After a nurse friend told me :-) " ONLY CALL THIS MAN, " My communication started w/Julie, Dr.Wallace's assistant. She was SO wonderful! My husband & I were then beyond impressed by Dr. Wallace's extensive knowledge. I knew I was in good hands immediately! I have so much body confidence back again.
I wasn't sure another surgery would resolve my problem. I had previously had implant exchange but another capsular contracture would always form again. Dr. Wallace was able to convert my implants to under the muscle. I think this will make the difference! Dr. Wallace is very skilled, compassionate and wise! I am so glad I chose him for my surgery! I am very pleased with my results!! Updated on 5 Jan 2015: Yes, my previous implants had been over the muscle. I have had both saline and most recently silicone implants. I love the silicone. They feel just like natural breast tissue. My last surgery was about a year ago and I am still capsule free! Yay! Previously I would have formed a capsule by now. Placing the implants under the muscle made the difference for me. I know it was difficult since my muscle had thinned from the implants sitting on top of them. I am so glad Dr. Wallace was able to convert me. I have referred a few friends to him who have all had breast augmentations and they all look amazing and are very happy!
So I have spent alot of time on this site gathering info and commenting here and there. I am 28 years old and I am a mother of 4. I finally decided to take the plunge in December. My first consultation was horrible. The dr whom I will not name was unprofessional abd then I found out he wasnt even licensed and just took a Weekend class to learn to do boob jobs. Boy am I glad I dodged that bullet! My second consult was in January 3 days after my 28th birthday. I fell in love with Dr. WAllace and his assistant Julie. He was actually licensensed and seemed very knowledgeable. He told me to take time and really think about if I really wanted to go forth! I decided to go with it after my kids biryhdays. My surgery was paid in full and scheduled for April 10, 2013. I prepared and was so ready for everything but when I got to the surgery center and they checked my pressure I was made aware of the fact i had undiagnosed hypertension. Of course I cried and cried I think more from not getting my boobies than anything. My surgery was rescheduled for May 8 2013. It felt like forever waiting on the day to come!! The PS decided on 500cc High Profile smooth round implants for me through the crease incision. Throughout the course of the month waiting I got my bp under control and better prepared for syrgery on the home front !
Please do not let this doctor do a a neck lift or facelift on you. I had to go to another surgeon for a revision to correct his botched up procedures. It was the worst experience I have ever had. He thinks he’s the best doctor out there but he’s NOT! Trust me….save your money and the devastation!
I have had years of pain and aggravation. There is nothing I regret more than having my procedure done by Robert Wallace. The irritation is constant, and the scarring is embarrassing. I cannot leave the house without makeup, and I’m constantly trying to hide my face when. In public. This has been a nightmare.
ANY licensed medical doctor can claim to be a Cosmetic or Plastic surgeon. Almost every physician has a board certification. It is wise to inquire about them. Each medical specialty has its own board certification. Just because a doctor is advertising liposuction and claims to be "board certified" does NOT mean they are board certified in Plastic Surgery. If you needed brain surgery, you would want a neurosurgeon who is specifically trained in neurosurgery. Liposuction should only be performed by a surgeon specifically trained and board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Always check to make sure the board certification a doctor claims to have is legitimate.
A pain pump bathes the belly wall with anesthetic, easing discomfort and allowing a patient to get up and get moving sooner which minimizes risks for blood clots. We like to use a pain pump in addition to the usual post op medications given. We include the cost of the pain pump in our fees, that way a patient does not have to weigh the benefit of the pump against the cost.
