I'm currently 3 days post-op and the pain is tolerable, but I can't sit yet. Everything is pretty swollen down there.
The pain was stronger than I expected on the first day (even with the pain medication AND Tylenol, I cried part of the night).
The actual surgery (local anesthesia) went well. I drove home by myself right after.
However, I regret not doing a second consultation with her before the actual surgery date (we spoke about labiaplasty during the initial consultation that was about another treatment). I was bothered by some excess labia tissue, but didn't like the "tucked in" (or Barbie) look so I probably wanted something different from the "standard" look that women usually ask for... Dr. Gdalevitch seemed to have understood my wish so I went with her plan, trusting her experience.
Fast forward to the surgery date: I didn't like the result I saw in the mirror right after the surgery (before the swelling) so I'm crossing my fingers that there is still enough labia left!
As long as everything heals in the end without complication, I'll be satisfied with the experience. I'd do differently in the future though!
Updated on 2 Sep 2019:
The pain/itching was sooo much better after the stitches were off (I "helped" them a little around 2 weeks). I could finally walk and sit. The scars are getting softer too. Still not sure of what to expect as a result, but I'm sure everything will be fine. I had some concerns about a "burn" in the area (that was because of humidity) and Dr Gdalevitch answered my questions super fast via email, even at night or during the weekend!
Unfortunately, I am still in pain, but for another reason: I probably have a Bartholin's cyst. It may or may not be related to the surgery, but I wanted to say it since it might happen to you. I didn't know what that was until she told me about it.
Again, Dr. Gdalevitch is definitely a great doctor. I had "doubts" in my first comment because of the pain and being scared of ME having made a mistake about this surgery, but it had nothing to do with her own professionalism. She's not leaving me alone in this, even if the cyst might not be related to the surgery at all. I'll update pictures soon.
