It’s been a few years and I still love going to Dr. Bitter for my BBLs! He and Tina always take wonderful care of me - even when it’s not an aesthetic concern. I am thrilled he always makes time for me and my terrible skin because I always come out of his office looking refreshed and gleaming! Updated on 21 Dec 2020: After trying it on my face for years, I took the leap to try it on my arms. I was afraid it would hurt (why I don't know... face is painless so arms should be too). Results are amazing. See the before and after which speaks for itself!!
First, I'm very surprised to see only one other review for Dr. Bitters in Los Gatos, CA, because he's very experienced with lasers, and photo facials (BBL, IPL, etc.). I went to him for sun spots, age spots, and very small blood vessels on my nose and cheeks, which he diagnosed as a mild version of Rosacea. I've had 5 BBL treatments (over about 6 months) by Dr. Bitters for sun spots, age spots, blood vessels on the side of my nostrils, and fine blood vessels on my cheeks. He's very systematic with the procedure, his medical assistant documents all of the laser pulses, energy strengths, filters used, or what ever it's called that he tracks for each treatment. I'm sure this is how he can provide a safe approach with no burning, while maximizing results of each treatment. Before seeing him, getting burned and scared was a fear of mine after reading negative reviews on this site about other doctors. Dr Bitter's is probably as good as it gets for BBL and laser treatments. He even does consulting work for the manufacturer of the device, and performs training worldwide for other doctors. So maybe he's best of the best?? Not only have I seen benefits with my sun spots, blood vessels, etc., all being gone, but I've also noticed my skin is tighter and the tone/color is even. The redness of my skin tone is also gone. I really never noticed how bad it was until I scrolled through the pictures I took 'before' my very first treatment and compared it with my different 'after' pictures. Oh, and recover? Well, I had light redness the day of the treatment, but still felt comfortable to go to the gym that day. And you will see dark spots if you have any sun spots or freckles, I guess they absorb the energy of the light and get burned up, and some light redness for a few days after treatment. But I bet no one will notice, no one did for me. Overall, he's a nice guy, he's very knowledgeable, and his office staff is always friendly and pleasant. Talking to his main medical assistant the other day (forgot her name) who helps him during my treatments, I found out she been with him for over 15 years. That's obviously a reflection of how he treats his staff, and it also brings additional value to patients by having experienced office staff. My former dentist, had a revolving door, he went through dental hygienist all the time, and I found out he wasn't too pleasant to work with. With my new dentist, well, I've had the same cleaning hygienist for about 8 years. Basically, I feel the way he treats his staff, is also how he'll treat me. For one of my treatments, he was out of the office traveling for a training he was doing for other doctors, and I was asked if I wanted to use his RN for my next treatment or wait until he returned. Well, I elected to left her perform my 4th treatment, and she (Carrie Radliff) was equally skillful as Dr. Bitters. And I would fully trust her to perform another treatment if needed. If you're in the South Bay, I highly recommend Dr. Bitters for BBL (AKA IPL). If you live in other parts of the SF Bay Area, he's definitely worth the drive for treatments. I'll continue to see him for maintenance treatments each year. I look at it this way, it's like a paint job on a nice car, it still needs a good hand wax and detail to show it's full potential after being in the sun for 6 months. And if his office staff reads this, this is the patient who is always reluctant to take 'before' pictures, before each treatment. ;)
When my 70 year old dad noticed that I had freckles, you know it's bad. LOL! After my two pregnancies, I had experienced more freckles and noticed that older freckles were even darker. I don't do a lot of sun so I was ultra surprised. Because I have Asian skin, I'm very careful about the products I use and who I see for my skin. After a really extensive consultation with Dr. Bitter of Los Gatos, I'm so excited to have my FIRST BBL treatment. I think it's working already and I can't wait to see the results! Updated on 17 May 2017: They've definitely fallen off! They looked like diffused brown spots. I have noticed brighter skin - the redness that I usually notice in my skin is gone. I have noticed the pigmented spots that really bothered me before are milder, less noticeable to me. I could easily cover up with foundation if it really bothered me.
I have strange sun spots on the underside of my arms(the whitest part of my arms where it doesn't get exposed to sun) Anyhow, I've had numerous BBL's with NO results so I found someone to do Moxi. I now have what looks and feels like 3rd degree burns. Very painful! Hard to wear a long sleeve shirt as it hurts when the shirt rubs against the burns. I tried wearing sleeves to protect my arms after the treatment but the sleeves stuck to certain areas on my arms and I had to peel it off my skin!! Brutal!!! I started to bleed as I guess I was peeling skin off while pulling off my sleeves. IF this gets rid of the spots then I guess it's worth it but it's pretty painful. I also think that my Dr. did this at the highest level with numerous passes in certain areas. He did a test area a month before and it wasn't anywhere this bad but I'm guessing because he didn't do it at the highest level and fewer passes per area. Very nice and caring Dr though. I've been to some doozies in the past! I posted 1 pic of what the inside of my arm looked like before the Moxi. I will post more after healing to see what came of all this
