Vaginoplast with Dr. Nicholas Kim

Last August, I had my consultation with Dr. Nicholas Kim at the University of Minnesota. I was very excited that there was now a provider in my area doing vaginoplasty. From the start, the entire staff was wonderful to work with. Dr.Kim himself thoroughly explained the procedure and answered all of my questions. After the consultation, I committed to surgery with him. They filed the prior authorization and within the month, I had a date for my surgery! January 10th, 2019. When the day finally came, I checked into the hospital and before I knew it, I was being carted off to the OR. I was out before I got there and the next thing I knew, I was in recovery. I had had an epidural and it worked amazingly well! I felt almost no pain. Time in the hospital was a total of 5 days. The day the packing came out, I got to go home. Dilating was super easy for me and I was up to the largest sized dilator in about 2 weeks. I have only had minor healing issues. Granulation tissue has been a bit of a battle, but it is almost all gone at this point. I was able to get 5 1/2" of depth from the surgery. Sensation is also pretty good and I have been able to orgasm. He took my desire for looks into account, and everything looks great! At this point, I have no plans for revision surgery. It looks that good. I highly recommend Dr. Kim for vaginoplasty! I couldn't be happier! Updated on 6 Sep 2019: Here are some photos of my results. I am still dealing in some granulation tissue, but other than that, I love my results. The first two were taken just after dilating at about the 6 month mark and the third was about 7 months. Updated on 21 Sep 2019: It’s been 8 months now since I had my surgery. I am so happy with the results! Granulation tissue keeps improving. I started seeing a pelvic floor therapist thrust helping with some scar tissue. That is working out very well so far. The look of my vagina is incredible. It is just perfect And, it works! I have had a couple orgasms so far. It takes work to get there, but that seems to be the case with most of the women I’ve know. Updated on 31 Dec 2019: Here it is, New Years Eve and my anniversary is fast approaching. Recovery has gone very smoothly. The only issue I had was granulation tissue, which is almost gone. I still have much to learn bout my body, but orgasms are achievable and spectacular! I am so very happy to have had this surgery with Dr. Kim. His aftercare this past year has been outstanding! Updated on 2 May 2020: I thought I’d post an update on how I have healed. After almost 16 months, I have to say that I am extremely happy. My granulation tissue is fully gone and everything works just fine. Here are a couple new photos. Updated on 24 Sep 2020: At the end of October I will be have a follow up procedure to finish my vaginoplasty. It’s called a bilateral feminizing labiaplasty. Recently, during a visit with a pelvic floor therapist, I got quite a different view of my current results than I’d ever seen before. I was so happy with how I look that I cried a bit. Having this surgery has fundamentally changed me. I am free of the hang ups I had before and my happiness has skyrocketed.
