Nelson Lee Novick, MD

Dr. Novick was incredible. Checked off all the boxes, as a really personable, knowledgeable, and skilled guy. He was quite easy to converse with and very patiently answered all of my questions (and even went so far as to explain the root cause of my problems, not just the quick fix for it.) His level of professionalism put any anxiety at ease while his interactive demeanor throughout the entirety of the procedure made my experience a thoroughly enjoyable one. Dr. Novick was also very efficient with his time management as well, getting through the consultation in about 30 minutes and the procedure in about 45…and yet I wanted to stay longer because I had found a friend in Dr. Novick!! He’s quite fun to talk to and has lived a biography worthy life full of intrigue and adventure (so be sure to ask him about it!!) It’s not every doctor’s visit you come out of with such a pleasant experience, feeling refreshed rather than discouraged. I can honestly say, after just one treatment, my skin already looks much more even and a lot healthier. I am super excited to see the final end result of my treatment and in the meantime cannot recommend Dr. Novick and his practice enough!

Dr. Nelson is an exceptional dermatologist and an even better human being. He is incredibly kind, patient, and humble despite being extremely knowledgeable in his field. Unlike many dermatologists I've encountered who spend barely 5-10 minutes with patients, Dr. Nelson takes his time to truly listen, understand your concerns, and explain everything clearly. His genuine care and attention immediately make you feel at ease.
He suggested only effective treatment’s without pushing any unnecessary procedures just to make money-only what was truly needed. He even took the time to personally help calm my nerves before the procedure. What amazed me the most was how painless and comfortable the entire process was. I’ve had similar procedures with other surgeons that were far more painful and unpleasant.
On top of all this, Dr. Nelson is incredibly disciplined and hardworking. He personally handles all aspects of patient care instead of relying heavily on nurses, which is a rare quality among doctors today. His dedication, sincerity, and hands-on involvement are truly admirable. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking honest, compassionate, and effective dermatological care.
Personally, I was inspired by Dr. Nelson’s work ethic and learned the value of being hardworking and taking responsibility for doing things yourself without relying on others.

Dr. Novick has been excellent so far in testing my skin, spending much more time and attention than any other doctor. I’m already seeing improvement with my scalp. Plus he diagnosed balding and gave me some medicine which I didn’t even know was an option!

Had the opportunity to work Dr Novick and was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge, patience and professionalism. From the moment I stepped into his office I felt welcomed and supported. I particularly appreciate Dr Novick’s reluctance to use lasers in his practice, as they are dangerous and deliver questionable results (at best). I highly encourage anyone looking for safe and effective scar solutions to visit his practice!

I booked a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Novick due to my dilated/broken capillaries and because I was interested in microneedling. He conducted a very thorough medical history and skin examination, and took the time to listen to all my questions and concerns. It is clear he is an expert in cosmetic dermatology as we discussed everything from dilated capillaries, facial/acne scarring, and telangiectasia. He even offered to look at a few moles that seemed suspicious and gave me guidance on doing skin checks at home. Unlike other doctors I've seen, Dr. Novick won't rush you out the door or try to sell you a treatment you don't need. He will spend the time to really understand your concerns and develop a customized treatment plan. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Novick was extremely knowledgeable on skin and scar tissue - he took the time to explain all of my treatment options and I really trusted his expertise. He performed a subcision on a depressed hypopigmented scar on my cheek and within one session I am already feeling that its appearance is improved. It may take a few more sessions to get the result I want, but I am extremely confident in Dr. Novick’s work. Excited to work together! Also, the price is right.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Novick. I have been dealing with acne scars for years and have tried a variety of treatments with different doctors, spending thousands of dollars to only see a marginal improvement, if any. He spent an hour and a half in the initial consultation talking through my treatment options and putting to bed lies that other dermatologists and “skinfluencers” will have you believe, all to sell you treatments and products that will have you shell out tons of money and will do little to nothing to improve the appearance of your scarring. He is the ONLY dermatologist I have seen in the past decade who did not try to pitch me on treatments, procedures or products, and dispelled a variety of myths associated with different treatments / procedures. For example, I have several ice pick scars that I have been trying to treat for some time. A different dermatologist who treated these suggested TCA peels and never treated them individually, instead falsely advising me that 30% strength TCA should be done repeatedly on 4-6 week intervals over my entire face to show gradual results…and I saw next to no improvement after multiple treatments with them. I had read extensively a variety of different reviews that said that 100% TCA applied directly into the scar was the correct approach and without telling Dr. Novick as such, he confirmed this and we began a treatment plan for the ice pick scars with this in mind. We’ll take things one visit at a time and see how the results progress. He didn’t suggest other expensive treatments, his bedside manner was fantastic and I got the sense that he treats all of his patients this way…trying to set realistic expectations while controlling costs and not trying to sell you some gimmick. In a sea of dermatologists out to maximize your number of office visits and empty your wallet on the next “new thing”, Dr. Novick is a breath of fresh air. My only regret is that I wish I’d found him sooner.

Dr. Novick is very knowledgeable about acne scars! I have been going to see him to help with papular acne scarring. I had gone to previous dermatologists: some did not know what to do with papular acne scars while others suggested micro-needling and lasers. But these all provided to be ineffective. For the first time, I am seeing marked improvement in flattening these stubborn scars due to Dr. Novick's treatments! He also is always on time and does all of the treatments himself! If you suffer from papular acne scarring, I would highly recommend going to him rather than wasting time and money on other treatments and doctors.

I called for an appointment for a Subcision Consultation and Dr. Novick was kind enough to call me back himself. I had the consultation and he was so warm and informative about the treatment, which he performed that day. My second treatment yielded improvement and my third was today. I’m hoping this will make an even better improvement. What I admire about Dr. Novick is that he will not push costly lasers or “devices” that he knows do not work. He spends a lot of time with you and doesn’t rush you out of the office, which is quite uncommon these days. I highly recommend him.

I came back to Dr. Novick to remove a fibrous papule from my nose and to remove a seborrheic keratosis on the side of my face. Both procedures were perfect and left zero scars. I was especially worried about the papule removal as I read that scarring (indentation) was likely, but Dr. Novick's method left virtually no trace except a tiny red dot that has been rapidly fading. Don't hesitate to book an appointment with him - he's the best.
