I have always had a baby face, even at 26-27 everyone swore I looked 18. I always had a very round full face. Once I turned 28 I started noticing loss of volume, it wasnt bad I was growing into a more adult face and theres nothing wrong with that, but im not ready to part with my baby face. I went to Natalia for POD threads, I am against fillers/botox I want my face to look natural, and pod threads are great I got them under my eyes a few times with natalia and absolutely loved them. The areas that started bothering me were areas around my mouth and cheecks , I was hoping to get POD threads as a solution, I was thinking 4-5 on each checkto tighten it up. Natalia suggested sculptra, promised me I would look "weird" or fillery, I was nervous as hell but if you see Natalia , you will understand. She looks 22 and you would never guess she ever had anything done. 3 months later and I am still soo happy. I look like a baby again, naturally, my skin began plumbing up within about 3 weeks, everyday I woke up prettier. Updated on 18 Dec 2017: still love , sculptra not only added volume but also improved texture of my skin, I never wear makeuo anymore, its time for me to go get pod threads under my eyes again, (natalia will not inject any fillers under the eye) I am considering doing another round of sculptra. I am nervous that I will wake up in 6 months with a ballooned massive face, thoughts? I Updated on 18 Dec 2017: skin quality improved alot. Updated on 20 Feb 2018: still loving it. So I couldnt help but read all the sculptra horror stories on here. Now I am too nervous to get it again when the time comes. Updated on 24 Mar 2018: Still love my face so much better than before sculptra. I think sculptra might be fading a tiny bit, it’s hard to tell because I have also gained about 10 pounds since October. I notice it the most after a bad night sleep. I haven’t been able to make the trip to Brooklyn to see Natalia for pod threads under my eyes and on my cheeks. I usually get one thread on each check , placed symmetrically to my check bones , right below them, hard to explain ?! I am planning on going in the next month, I think this time I will get 3 on each cheek and 2 threads beneath each eye. I am turning 29 and I think it’s time to step up my game as far as keeping my skin quality youthful. Chemical peel? Or is it too close to summer? I don’t wear sunblock , but I also never lay outside and generally do not enjoy being outdoors during summer days. Will post before and after pics of pod threads when I go to Brooklyn ! Updated on 24 Mar 2018: I decided to post these pics to highlight the skin texture improvement after sculptra. I had just spend the entire summer in Montenegro , probably too much time in the sun and I broke out pretty bad. I haven’t read a lot of info on sculptra clearing up or improving skin texture , it has been a very pleasant surprise. The main reason I decided to post my story was because I saw an overwhelming amount of horror stories about it. Keep in mind that there are 100’s of women like me who are successfully using sculptra and most of them aren’t telling the world their secrets. Updated on 16 Aug 2018: Well, it’s been almost a year since my 1 vial of sculptra and I am sad to say my face is thinning out again. I weigh about 10 pounds more in these pics than I did in my first pre-sculptra pic, but you can still see the areas near my mouth, jaw line are losing body as well as my forehead temples. Also I don’t have that sculptra glow. I would love to run to Natalia for more sculptra , however I am 1 month pregnant and will have to wait about 9 months :) I can’t say I am back to where I was before sculptra, it’s still better than before Updated on 16 Aug 2018: Better quality pic during the day. I miss my volume from sculptra! Smiling is my best friend , I want the shape I get from smiling . Unfortunately I can’t smile all the time. I can’t believe I have to wait 8 months to go for round two Updated on 8 Sep 2018: Not pregnant anymore . Went in for round 2, exactly 1 year later. Also did 2 pod threads under each eye . Natalia was very impressed with my face after not seeing me for a year. She is brutally honest which scares me a little. A major improvement from the last time she saw me. She was a little more conservative with the Sculptra than last time. She told me I don’t look a day over 19 :) Updated on 8 Sep 2018: Round 2 of Sculptra exactly 12 months later. Also 2 pod threads under each eye. There’s a bit of bruising but wow, I feel stunning. Natalia told me not to even think about doing anything else to my face, the volume was all I needed. No Botox no fillers no lips. Anddd this ice queen told me I don’t look a day over 19 Updated on 4 Oct 2018: Just like last time, the initial volume went down and now it’s a waiting game. I also have gained quite a bit of weight the past month due to moving, 5 pounds which is a lot for my small stature. I am hoping my face doesn’t look like a ballon in a few months :) Updated on 4 Nov 2018: the red dots show where the sculptra was injected. Mostly the perimeters of my face , jaw line/ temples and a tiny bit by my mouth. It’s very important to see a md who is skilled at facial mapping. Before I ever got sculptra , I was sure that I needed filler around my mouth. However , by adding volume to the areas shown, the volume loss around my mouth no longer became an issue Updated on 21 Nov 2018: Ladies !! Sculptra is finally working it’s magic . It took 2 months this time. I am glowing ! I am wearing zero makeup in this pics and I also hadn’t slept in a few days. I am so happy it’s finally working . I was getting worried for a second Updated on 8 Jan 2020: Still doing sculptra , more often then before. About every 6 -7 months. Iv noticed it dissolves if I take adderal for a few day’s. So if I ever am getting too much volume I just take adderal. Adderal dissolves all filler btw Updated on 12 Jan 2020: my last sculptra injection gave me too much volume my face looked huge and puffy. I took adderal for about 3-4 days and now it looks good. got a few weird possible bumps, but I can't tell if their cystic acne, which I never ever get. doctor says the sculptra could have gotten infected because I did threads at the same time. Still no way of knowing its just a waiting game. Taking antibiotics as a precaution. btw I am 30 now. Updated on 28 Jan 2020: Cyst thingy is still there. Face looks great. I was worried about a month ago when I got too much volume. I had to get a tiny bit of filler first time ever to lift the corners of my lips because threads weren’t doing it . Still not totally satisfied. Any suggestions for this? Tried profhilo today. I’m pretty excited about this new product will update my results . I get a lot of messages here and rarely check, I’m pretty open on my ig about my skin stuff it’s alenakara6 if you have an urgent question feel free to shoot me a dm Updated on 27 Feb 2020: Sculptra plus a lot of prp, fraxel, collagen supplements, peels etc ..The struggle is real :) first pic I’m 27/28 , and new pics within the past week. currently obsessed with Profhilo , went for round 2. Google it! Updated on 27 Feb 2020: Okay guys so I do a lot of research, combing the internet for articles and case studies on sculptra. I just want to share what iv gathered. Doctors will simply regurgitate info the Sculptra reps tell them. Doctors are not scientists or chemists , they only know how to inject the filler to give you the outcome your seeking. You have to do your own research. All injectable fillers come with a risk of cysts / lumps/ etc. not just sculptra. There will always be a small percentage of people who will reject a foreign substance. Sculptra can 109% migrate, think about it. It’s a liquid, how on earth would it not migrate? Overly massaging , or any kind of pressure on your face will increase chance of sculptra migrating . Even sleeping on your face, or putting your head into a massage bed - can move Sculptra around. Your face is constantly being massaged just from speaking , eating , sleeping. The weeks after sculptra you should try to keep your facial muscles from moving excessively. The protocol to massage to avoid lumps is just a theory it’s not proven. I personally never massage. Nodules / cysts /lumps are usually caused by sculptra infection. It’s very difficult to avoid infection. Try to not touch your face after sculptra until the injection site heels. Also, do not pair sculptra with other procedures such as lasers or threads , peels etc. this will increase chance of infection. The more injury to the skin, the more likely the infection will cause adverse effects. The common theory now is that Sculptra wasn’t diluted properly 10 years ago. People complaining of lumps 10 years later are often dismissed based on this theory that sculptra is now being administered properly. Keep in mind, again, that this is an unproven theory. And I disagree . From my research I am pretty sure that repeated sculptra use , over many years , eventually can lead to lumps , people who are getting it administered by the new protocol , will be facing the same issues sooner or later . Hence why I didn’t get any cysts until my 4th/5th injection. Your skin has memory of trauma / minor infections. First few times may not result in noticeable problems but will slowly react stronger with each repeated injection. The first few times you might have had an infection from Sculptra unknowingly. In the future I will take antibiotics with Sculptra. Last but not least, majority of granolas / lumps spontaneously resolve. People often take action too quickly , with steroid injections / surgery, leaving them with scars/indents. I strongly urge people to be patient and have a little faith in your own body’s healing process . I had a bump for 2 months, so many doctors were offering to drain it for me, even my close friend that’s a maxi facial surgeon - wanted to drain it for me. I trusted me own body over the most experienced doctors. It was so tempting I was constantly fantasizing about draining it. One day I woke up and it was gone. Your own immune system is the greatest doctor, 10 years of Med school can not compete with thousands of years of evolution. Have a little faith and patience. Also keep in mind these are my theories , there are no facts in science. I have read 100’s of case studies and am happy to send the links if you DM me. Updated on 28 Mar 2020: Yup , trapped in my apartment wondering how long before I start looking my age and my bf starts noticing :) on a brighter note my sculptra+profhilo are peaking and what’s the point when I can’t leave my apartment with a mask ;) hope your all staying safe and healthy xo Updated on 30 Jul 2020: Yes believe it or not , after years of being a huge sculptra fan, things have taken a turn. Last November, Natalia injected a little sculptra in my chin for the first time. I immediately didn’t like it, I was working a lot at the time, taking a lot of adderal so the volume on my chin subsided after a few months when I was around 115 pounds. Fast forward to March when the quarantine began. From March to June I gained 20 pounds (no exaggeration) due to spending most of my quarantine eating and watching tv. My chin began to grow, not only that but it is asymmetrical and bumpy when I smile. Most noticeable from my profile or from underneath. Now it’s just a waiting game, who knows how long it will last. I’m working on losing weight which normally has worked for me, but I have already lost half the weight and my chin is the same. I called Natalia , sent her pictures, she said she never injected my chin, or anyone’s chin with sculptra . Lol. Well she did. I might try Botox under the chin so that at least it doesn’t pull downward when I smile. Anyways, I definitely will not be getting sculptra ever again, or seeing Natalia for anything. Updated on 4 Aug 2020: Posted more pics, filter free makeup free. Looks okay from the front. My side profile looks awful, big chin dropping down. Is this sculptra or a muscular problem ? Maybe Botox will solve it? Weight loss? Any suggestions?
I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Natalie Borodoker and her office staff. The office is brand new, clean, and runs on time. Dr. Borodoker is very knowledgeable, understanding, and really works with you to provide the best care possible. She is a great doctor!!! I have done plastic surgery (upper lids) with her. Could not have had a better outcome. I look 10 years younger and no signs of anything being done. Highly recommend!!!!
I went in for a routine annual checkup. No complaints just wanted to update my prescription. However as the exam progressed she was confirming with her assistant the Medical insurance I had, to keep adding unnecessary procedure codes. Furthermore, she told me that I needed to have Prophylactic Laser Iridotomy. I have ZERO family history of glaucoma, ocular hypertension and or anatomically narrow angles (mostly patients of Asian descent) these are the primary reasons why this procedure is performed. Her behaviour was highly unprofessional and unethical. When I came back with eye-pain, headaches, blurry vision and bloody looking eye she told it had nothing to do with laser, I just have dry eyes. According to Glacouma Today, “One of the procedures most frequently performed by glaucoma specialists and comprehensive ophthalmologists is the prophylactic laser iridotomy. To the asymptomatic and unsuspecting patient, the diagnosis of anatomically narrow angles and the suggestion of prophylactic LI can be alarming, which is why the recommendation of LI is a common reason for a second opinion.” Joshua R. Ehrlich, MPH, and Nathan M. Radcliffe, MD
I went to Dr. Borodoker several times, and had only unpleasant experiences with her. At first she seemed nice (which is why I came several times), but I always felt rushed throughout my appointments, and was shocked by how rude and condescending Dr. Borodoker could be at times. Terrible bedside manner. The most frustrating incident was when she promised she'd give me a call regarding a prescription later in the afternoon, and it took well over a week of repeatedly calling the office for her to finally return my call. I don't know if that was the fault of the doctor or her staff, but that was the final straw. Very unprofessional doctor, and I would recommend anyone avoid her at all costs.
Thread lifts are a wonderful way to improve skin laxity, resolve wrinkles and improve facial drooping. However they do not resolve loss of volume in the lower face. In my experience the combination of fillers, or better yet, collagen stimulators such as Sculptra and PDO threads to restore the youthful lower face architecture, than thread lift alone. Good luck
We do lots of Venus Freeze treatments in the office. The radiofrequency modality employed by Venus Freeze is a safe and gradual loss of volume, typically results of one treatment would be minimal. It takes a number of treatments to lose volume and that loss is usually a pretty even result. The treatment that would produce significant loss of volume in spots and patches would likely result in severely burned tissue and would not be tolerable in the first place.
There are several options to address the hollowness under the eyes, the most common one being the conservative use of fillers. Suitable fillers include Restylane Silk, Belotero and several others. They have to be injected in very small amounts and deep along the bone as the superficial injection may result in more swelling and festoon formation. You also have to be careful with permanent fillers such as Bellafill in this area. I would not recommend using Juviderm or Radiesse. In experienced hands this procedure could be done with great results. Another solution is to inject sculptra into the mid-face area as it elevates the mid-face and minimizes the hollow look, Sculptra should not be injected under the eyes, however. Sometimes CO2 laser resurfacing works well by diminishing pigment under the eyes and improving skin laxity. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
It is not uncommon to have uneven swelling, and it is usually not indicative of the final results. Day 2 after injections swelling is very common and usually cannot predict final outcome, do not worry and use ice compresses on the area. Swelling depends on many factors, and should slowly subside over the period of a few days to 2 weeks after initiall Kybella injection. In my experience patients swell more after the initial Kybella injection than after subsequent sessions. However unlikely, if the unevenness persists after a few weeks it may be corrected with directed Kybella injections to dissolve the fuller area. Best of luck!
No you may not. Different class of medicine altogether. Betimol does not cause eyelash growth, do not use glaucoma meds interchangiably. Both lower the intraocular pressure, only Latisse (Bimatoprost 0.03%) causes lash growth
