I had an amazing experience with Dr Joe at Hers clinic. I messaged the clinic on WhatsApp and was seen the day after for a consultation. One day later, I underwent the procedure in the office. I underwent a local anesthesia, so I was awake but didn’t feel any pain and barely any discomfort. The recovery was also very smooth, I just had to wear a garment on my face, eat non spicy food and rest. I went to the office again a week after the procedure to be seen by Dr Joe, and to remove some stitches. All was healing well thankfully. The clinic was clean, good location, the staff was absolutely amazing and thoughtful. Dr Joe gave great advice, was realistic and risk averse regarding my requests. I asked for a buccal fat removal and he could see that I was an ideal candidate. I also asked about chin and jaw liposuction and he told me that I would need the “chin reduction” (as translated in English) in order to get the result desired. I did not think it was unwarranted as I had done research and knew that that was often true and people ended up disappointed if they only went for chin and jaw liposuction if there was another issue of skin laxity. Dr Joe’s suggestion made sense and was cost-effective. I also asked about a chin augmentation and he told me that I didn’t need one, and that after the procedure my chin would be much more defined and it made sense since he did a mini lift of the neck. I also asked about an arm liposuction and again he refused to perform this at this time because of the skin laxity, he advised to lose some weight first to get the best results. I had done research and knew that a lot of people preparing for arm lipo did workout their arms prior to the procedure for best results and to avoid needing to do an arm lift later on. Finally, I also asked about an upper blepharoplasty and he again told me I didn’t need it, to come back in maybe 5-10 years. I chose dr Joe for several reasons: 1) the fact that he does many buccal fat removals; 2) the fact that most of his patients are south East Asians: as a mixed race person (Belgian and Congolese) it was important for me to find patients with similar features to mine so I could compare the before and after properly; 3) the cost is affordable but the care is equal if not superior to Europe.

I highly recommend Dr. Joe at Hers Clinic. He is a ENT doctor and does about 500 buccal fat removal in a week. I was so nervous and he made sure I was comfortable (feeling no pain) as he went along. Dr. Joe explained every step throughout the process, which is very reassuring. His main thing was that, the suture needed to be done tightly to hold & lift the face afterwards, which I'm glad he took precise care to do. The swelling wasn't so bad afterwards. But I did have swollen cheeks for about 6 weeks and the suture was completely flatten after 2 month; which he did explained this to me. I'm so happy with my result, in fact, I came back to see him for the 'neck tite' procedure just last week. I had put on some weight and my double chin was bothering me. There is slight bruising down my neck at the moment and tenderness, but not bothersome at all. Go see Dr. Joe!

After months of research I finally did my buccal fat removal at HERS Clinic in BKK. Upon consultation, Dr. Joe explained the procedure and his technique to avoid sagging of the cheeks after the surgery. He was very informative! Whilst preparing he sprayed a numbing agent to my mouth and after a few minutes he injected the anesthesia! I didn't feel any pain at all! He was explaining what he was doing whilst on procedure so I won't feel nervous ( yes I was nervous) The surgery took an hour to remove both of the buccal fat. There was a little swelling but not obvious that I had surgery. Afterwards, they placed me to the recovery room. After an hour they allowed me to go home,No spicy food and hot food, no alcohol and smoking for weeks! No extreme activities! Updated on 4 Sep 2019: 1st day after surgery-was a bit swollen but i still wear a mask. The night after my surgery I felt a little pain since the anaesthesia is wearing off but I gone after the meds. I’m taking my meds on time. I was advised that I can take normal foods (though I’m still taking soft foods) but you need to gargle every after meal. I visited a night market nearby. 2nd - 4th day after surgery was my swollen days but no pain.. still taking my meds and eating soft foods , mouthwash after meal, I go outside to enjoy the city. 4th day is my final check up to the clinic to check the stitches. All were fine and healing.I was advised that my swelling is normal for 5-7 days and will completely gone after a month or two. They’ve given additional meds since I misplaced some of my meds. 5th-6th after surgery- enjoyed the city! Though I still need to wear mask. Swelling reduced on the 5th day. No more square-ish face and I can see my face is less round and cheeks are prominent! I’m happy!

Best surgery I've done! Thank you Dr Joe and the lovely staffs at Hers Clinic. I've always been skeptical about the results of buccal fat removal but it was so effective in removing my chubby cheeks. The best thing of the whole experience is that the surgery was painless! Even the anaesthetic injection wasn't painful because he used a numbing spray before injecting the anaesthesia! It was even better than going to the Dentist! Dr Joe is really experienced in buccal fat removal and if you're finding a surgeon to do buccal fat removal in Bangkok, look no further. I've done my research and I am really certain that he is the best doctor for buccal fat removal since he does like 70% of all buccal fat removal surgeries in Bangkok. Definitely worth the trip of flying to Bangkok!! Plus, Bangkok is such a fun place to travel and it is really safe too. You won't imagine how friendly the people in Bangkok are! No wonder they call it the "land of smiles"! It's been 5 months post op and my results keep getting better. No more chipmunk cheeks and no saggy skin at all. I've read a couple of reviews of sagging skin after the buccal fat was removed, but I think the reason for that is because the incision wasn't closed tightly. That's what Dr Joe told me! He said that after the buccal fat is removed, the surgeon has to sew the suture as tightly as possible. Some heads up! The only thing I regret is not doing this surgery earlier!
