Dr. Salisbury is knowledgeable, listened attentively, and met all of my expectations. I highly recommend her. Everything from the initial consultation to post care was flawless. Finding an excellent physician is hard. Look no further.
Dr. Salisbury and the team at meridian park hospital provided me with the best possible surgery experience I could’ve asked for. Everyone was so kind and comforting, especially Dr. Salisbury who immediately eased my nerves. I couldn’t have picked a better person to provide such an intimate surgery. It’s my first day post-op and i’m already thrilled with the results. I’ve experienced almost no pain and have taken minimal pain killers. I can tell that the surgical site is still swollen, but that the final result will look exactly how i’d imagined. This surgery is truly life changing as a young woman, and I highly recommend it if you experience any discomfort or insecurity with that area. Update: I’ve reached the 6 week healing point and I couldn’t be happier with my results, it’s exactly what I wanted. I’m significantly more comfortable wearing certain clothes and I’m way more confident in my body. Getting this procedure was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I do strongly recommend doing serious research on both the procedure and different providers before making a decision - and for me, Dr. Salisbury was the perfect choice. Backstory: I’m only 20, but I’ve dealt with discomfort and insecurity in that area since I was about 13. I decided that it was holding me back from certain aspects of my life both physically (working out, swimming) and emotionally (wasn’t happy with my body, didn’t want to form intimate relationships). Getting the procedure at such a young age was beneficial for me because it meant I could heal quickly, and I could move on with my life faster. Although it was expensive, the end result paid off and I won’t have to worry about it holding me back for the rest of my life. Here’s a breakdown of my recovery: Week 1: The night I went home after surgery I took 1 of the prescribed pain killers, but for the rest of the week I only took ibuprofen/tylenol every couple hours, and by day 7 I was able to go the entire day without any meds. The area was extremely itchy throughout the week, but that was the most discomfort I experienced. I was in almost no pain, but I took the week off school/work to ensure I didn’t accidentally push myself too hard. I also iced diligently throughout the first week! Week 2: By week 2 I was getting back to my normal movement. I was able to walk to class and back with no problems, but I did have to walk at a slower pace than normal. The area was still itchy sometimes but I would just ice it for relief. I still tried to find time to rest this week as much as possible so that I could heal quickly. Week 3: By week 3 I felt entirely normal. The only disruption from my normal life was having to use a pad on my period. I could walk to class easily, I could wear jeans with minimal discomfort, there was still no pain, and itching had subsided. (and yes jeans, leggings, and underwear are already significantly more comfortable without all the extra tissue down there) Week 4: No big changes from week 3. I’ve noticed that the stitches have dissolved more and the swelling has gone down a bit. Week 5: Nothing has changed since week 4. I’m still waiting for the rest of my stitches to dissolve. I can clean myself normally in the shower now without being extra cautious and i’m almost to the point of wiping normally. Week 6: I finally made it the full 6 weeks! There haven’t been any big changes. I have one stitch I’m still waiting to dissolve but the end result looks so good. This whole process has been significantly better than I imagined it being, and I’m so much happier with my body now. I had so many worries going into this procedure about a loss of sensation or surgery complications and I’ve been so lucky to have such a smooth recovery. Week 7: I decided to keep updating until i got my 6 week post-op clearance, which happened to be exactly at week 7. Everything has healed quite well and the swelling has gone down even more. I love the result so much, you can’t even tell I had surgery in the area. Note: I took pictures of my progress every single day after i got out of the shower and the swelling truly doesn’t go down until about week 3 - that’s when you’ll be able to start see how it’s actually going to look. I can even see the swelling fluctuate between days and it’s still going down at week 7.
I recommend her highly. I have had a surgery for incontinence and a labiaplasty. She is kind, compassionate, and a very skilled surgeon. You will be very happy you scheduled a consultation with her, to discuss any female issues you are struggling with. She is the best at what she does.
As soon as I walked in Dr. Nancy's office I felt comfortable. Not only was the environment friendly and comforting but so was everyone there! I have been insecure with my body my entire life up until now. Dr. Nancy took amazing care of me from before my labiaplasty until after. She is so easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. The surgery was so quick and the after care was phenomenal, I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I can finally feel completely comfortable in my skin. I can finally be fully nude and not feel like I need to put panties on. My heart is so happy! Thank you Dr. Nancy for giving me my confidence back!! I am beyond happy with my results and will be using Dr. Nancy as my gynecologist now. You are all amazing, I can't thank you enough!!
Dr. Salisbury is the most kind hearted, professional, and caring doctor I have ever met. I feel so lucky to have been able to work with her. She has changed my life forever and I am eternally grateful. I met with a few other doctors for consultations closer to home, but none of them came anywhere close to as wonderful as Dr. N. She was worth the travel, and I would recommend her to anyone. I genuinely felt cared for as if I was a member of her own family. She was so professional with my issue, and helped me keep the privacy I had hoped for, from the beginning to the end. Her nurses were just as extraordinary. The whole team has been so incredible to work with. I will forever remember each of them, and how wonderful they made me feel.
Dr. Salisbury is wonderful. I met with several doctors for a year, and she stood out as the best qualified, and after one meeting with her, I knew she was the right choice for me. This procedure is not to be taken lightly, local anesthesia will not do the trick, and it needs to be performed by an OB-GYN. Also, the recovery time is critical and Dr. Salisbury was great about fitting me in when I had questions about the activities I could pursue, and whether everything was on track as I healed. I am a competitive athlete, and she understood my need to get back to my sport but was very gentle about reminding me when to take it easy. I am so glad I did my homework and chose Dr. Salisbury and feel like I have a new lease on life!
Dr Salisbury and her staff at Dr N Gyn were very professional and made me feel very comfortable throughout my treatment. They accommodated the days and times I had available for my treatment. It is a nice facility and plenty of parking.
Doctor was a professional in her work and understand the nature of the problem of the patient and the clinic employers are women. I had a successful surgical operation and the period of recovery was great .She also follow-up patients after their surgery and make sure you had an great surgery and be back on your foot .I advise anyone to go to her as she is professional in her field of work.I rate her 5/5 stars for every aspect !
I wish I had known sooner about the MonaLisa Touch treatment. It wasn’t until I was 61 years old that I had finally reached a tipping point with one the problems I experienced as a result of menopause — thinning/drying of the vaginal lining. As this condition got worse over the years (menopause began at 49 yrs of age), so did the problems associated with it: No lubrication of any kind Painful intercourse, often resulting in bleeding caused by the friction Very low PH of the vaginal lining (have yours checked) Frequent urinary tract infections Eventually, fear of intercourse because of the pain and frequent UTIs associated with it I tried the lubricants, and although they helped somewhat with the dryness, the fact that my vaginal lining was so atrophied I continued to have many of the above problems. I didn’t want to take hormone replacement, so my research led me to the MonaLisa Touch treatment as another option to look into. I am so glad it did, and that there was a fantastic doc in the Portland area who was experienced and knowledgeable about the procedure... Dr. Nancy Salisbury, also known as Dr. N-GYN. She offers many gynological procedures to correct a number of female problems. I would highly recommend looking her up, especially on YouTube. She has a few videos explaining her services. She’s very easy to talk to, and you should feel comfortable talking with her about your own unique concerns. I realize that some women find it difficult to talk about these things. I would urge you to find a way to feel comfortable with it this one time, as it is so important to helping you find a solution to a very real and often painful problem. The best testimony I can offer is this. I have been with my loving husband/best friend for 38 years. My vaginal dryness problem was straining that relationship, and all off those issues listed above were turning me off of wanting to be intimate with my husband. How sad is that?! The MonaLisa Touch treatment has completely turned my love life back around, and we now feel closer than we have in years. You can/should do your own research into the MLT to answer all your questions. But basically here is the way it works... it is done in three sessions over a few months. Many tiny laser beams cause damage to the tissue, which causes the tissue to then heal and regenerate itself. Simple as that. The treatments are done in a docs office, same set-up as when you have your regular Pap test. It takes just a few minutes, and you are fine to walk out and continue on your day. I just went back for my one-year follow up “maintenance” treatment, which is optional. I wasn’t having any problems, and hadn’t noticed any decline in the positive effects. I just wanted the one-year maintenance treatment to insure the good place I’m in will continue. So, what are the positive effects? Over the years, all the docs would say the same thing when they did my vaginal exams. It looked atrophied, dry, thin lining. Oh, my God! I was that dried up old bag! Now, it looks like it did before menopause... moist, elastic, thicker, blood filled lining. And the PH test strip proves it. Plus, my body is now again able to produce the sexual lubrication my mind is telling it to. Thank you very much, MonaLisa Touch.
Let's face it, the facts about women's sexual health are still a deep dark secret for most people -- or simply ignored by most doctors. Especially for women past menopause. Dr. Nancy is a true advocate for women of all ages. Every interaction I had with her was clear, easy to understand, patient, compassionate -- and most of all, empowering. The effect on my personal well being has been beyond expectations. She was honest and encouraging. Yes, it was a lot of money, but I feel that it was totally worth it. (I will need to go back for a yearly "update" for $500.) I feel like I got an important part of myself back again -- incredible. After menopause, my vagina became so fragile, dry and painful that my husband and I have not had intercourse for almost 10 years. I am 65. I tried estrogen rings but they made no difference. We have found other paths to physical pleasure, but we just sadly figured that intercourse was not possible any more and moved on. Then I found some information about Mona Lisa Touch on the internet and went to see Dr. Nancy Salisbury, who is one of the few doctors offering this treatment in our area. I really didn't have much hope that it would make a difference, but after she described the treatment, how it works, and determined that I was a good candidate, I decided to give it a try. The treatments themselves are brief and not painful, although my vulva area was a tad sore for a day or two. But after the three treatments six weeks apart, and using estrogen cream in conjunction, I was amazed by the results. All the painful dryness and fragility has gone, the tissue is plump and moist, and we actually have had pleasurable intercourse! Both my husband and I were thrilled. I usually orgasm with a vibrator, and being able to insert fingers brought me back to a level of intensity that I had totally forgotten was possible.
Hello and thank you for your excellent pictures.I perform unilateral procedures for cases like this but I do not believe the wedge is the right procedure. The skin is extending up to the 'hood' nad to create symmetry I would recommend a trim/with hood reduction on the right. Up to you.Find a provider with whom you feel comfortable. This is a reachable goal!Dr N
You are a candidate for vaginoplasty to improve the tone of the vaginal canal however from your picture, your anatomy looks very normal. I would seek the opinion of an experienced gynecologic aesthetic surgeon in order to get an appropriate assessment. The vaginal 'tents' with arousal so it can feel more open. This is normal physiology. Best, Dr Nancy Salisbury
yes, I believe this can be improved upon. It sounds like your journey has been quite difficult and while I explain to my patients revisions are not without stress and risks, only you can decide if you want to proceed. PLEASE go to a surgeon who is comfortable with revisions and will address the entire anatomy, labia, perineum and vagina. Hope things go well. Best, Dr Nancy Salisbury
Yes!!This is often called vestibulitis. I see this in menopausal women all the time however I also see it in younger women. Very painful and sore to the touch . We use to do a qtip test of this area to see if it is sensitive. Mona Lisa Touch, CO2 therapy, transforms the epithelium (skin) and makes healthier skin by a process called injury and repair. It is done in the office and is not painful. A series of three treatments 6 weeks apart that takes less than 1/2 hour and you can go back to work. Before letting a surgeon cut this area out (which was the treatment) PLEASE have someone try a more minimally invasive procedure.Best,Dr Nancy Salisbury, Dr N
I am so sorry your surgeon did not consider your Vaginal ARea when performing a thigh lift.I have seen this where the vagina is wide open and the labia are pulled laterally,Without pictures I am not sure what your particular issue is. I have performed a technique where we re-approximate the labia majora and close the vaginal door. it is done with a distal vaginoplasty and perineoplasty. You can augment the labia majora with fat grafting or fillers.I hope you can find a solution. Find the right surgeon with whom you can speak openly. You are so brave.Best,Dr Nancy Salisbury, Dr N
