I had the IPL fraxel. $500. That experience was totally traumatizing. My face was disfigured. My family was very concerned. It took 8 hours of icing, and 10 days to return to normal. However my brown spots never improve and I developed new ones. My impression of Dr. Uratu is that she is looking to make a buck, her medical advice is base in profits. Too sad. My advice to the reader; choose a different provider.
Many times some inflammation after filler injection will resolve with massage and compresses. In addition, some injection of diluted steroid can help with an inflammed nodule. It may be more conservative and cautious to observe the area with conservative treatment of massage and heat compresses for a longer period and reevaluate.
Typically a customized program is developed that is specific to your facial needs. Depending on where a filler is injected and what the treatment goals are, we can determine how many 1 mL syringes are required and what the expected duration is. Everyone responds slightly differently so predictions about duration and lasting effects to depend on individual biochemistry and facial muscle movements. In general, injections in the infraorbital area (below the eyes) tend to have more lasting effects , for example, than around the mouth area. Typically for injections in the mid face (cheek areas) and the mesolabial areas, my patients may reinject every year.
We customarily advised a two week course of an ointment based topical agent after a surgical procedure. Typically we will advise bacitracin or aquafor, but vasoline is acceptable as well. The advantage of using such an agent is to protect the wound from external allergens as well as keeping the incision site moisturized.
