Miles Banwell, FRCS(Plast)

Dr Miles Banwell was recommended to me by a friend who had breast augmentation performed by him. I booked abdominoplasty, muscle repair and 360 lipo to improve my body shape. From the first consultation I knew I made the right decision. Dr Banwell was very honest, professional and made me feel very comfortable and in safe hands. We discussed the best possible results for me personally and how to achieve them and wow… did he deliver!! Blowing my own trumpet here, but I’m now 6 weeks post op and my results are fantastic, my thin scar is healing beautifully and I couldn’t be happier. It’s like a gift that keeps on giving. The contouring is great and my body looks in perfect proportion now.
I would also like to add that the aftercare was absolutely fantastic. I spent 2 days post op at The London Clinic and Miles came to see me every day even on Sunday..his day off. I had follow up daily phone calls from Mo his personal assistant for the first few weeks. I developed slight bladder infection and been seen and prescribed antibiotics within 4 hours. Very reassuring when you are in pain and feeling vulnerable.
Dr Banwell insisted on seeing me weekly to check on my progress. He is very generous with his time and I do believe I’m healing this well, because of this. Every concern I had was dealt with swiftly and I felt very reassured.
I’m so glad I had my surgery with someone so brilliant. His skills are second to none and I would be recommending him to everyone I know. Thank you Dr Banwell.

Mr Banwell carried out reconstructive surgery after my mastectomy and the result is amazing. Being diagnosed with breast cancer is a scary time but meeting and having Mr Banwell as my surgeon helped ease any worries. His humour and approachability together with his professionalism helped with the whole procedure. The team were always contactable and I can highly recommend them. I thank them all especially Mr Banwell for getting me through this horrible episode.

Choosing to (rather than needing to) have any kind of cosmetic surgery is a scary decision, which comes with a combination of both nervousness and excitement. But throughout my pre-surgery consultations with Mr Banwell, I found him to be incredibly knowledgable, skilful and honest, which massively helped to re-assure all of my worries. The gentle manner of Mr Banwell and his staff put me at ease on the day of surgery and they were super supportive post-surgery - a fantastic team.
Finally the results...perfect! very natural and far better than I could have hoped for.

I was treated with the up most professionalism from my first consultation. The procedure (breast uplift and reduction) was explained to me at great length. All my needs were meet whilst in the care of Dr Banwell.

Being a 48 year old woman, working in a busy environment in the City where my colleagues were becoming increasingly younger (and prettier!) I was becoming very bored of being told that I looked tired to the stage that I had even been told I looked angry several times and I wasn’t !!! I was a fit gym bunny with a young at heart enthusiasm for life and was fed up with my face not reflecting this. So I took the plunge, made a call and had a meeting who a man with ended up changing my life for the better, Mr Miles Banwell. Initially I asked for my eye lids to be lifted and the excess saggy skin to be removed, he told me he cld do this but then was honest with me and said I would still “look tired” – I had bags that M&S would charge 5p for. He went through all the options and in the end my husband told me to just go for it… Bilaterial full orbital rejuvenation and I arranged with Mr Banwell’s every efficient and friendly PA, Sarah a date. I had several prep meetings beforehand and was fully aware of what to expect. Sarah kindly met with me and gave me some cosmetics to use beforehand and after (all included in the price) and Mr Banwell prepared me with some botox around the eyebrow (again included in the price). My op was at The Baddow (near Chelmsford) a small but extremely friendly and welcoming hospital – the staff were very comforting to me. I had had several knee operations last year and cried on the way to the threatre – but Mr Banwell came in beforehand – marked me up and was very reassuring. All through the process he has been nothing but kind, patient, meticulous – I felt this was a journey for both of us – he could see the end result, and wanted better for me also. He is very proud of his work and works with you. The op itself was quite long, but I came back to the room in remarkable spirits – bruised, stitched, stapled and acid peeled but went home that night. I wasn’t in a huge amount of pain at all, discomfort yes, but the end result of having a new face kept me going. Sarah (Mr Barnwell’s PA) called me several days after the op to see how I was and again Saturday afternoon which I thought was very considerate and I knew she was feeding back the info to Miles. I had several visits with Mr. Banwell post op for stitches then stapled a few days later to be removed and each time he took his time with, never did I feel rushed. I am lucky that his city office is across the road from where I work, and I popped for a cheeky botox top on a month after the op – he showed me one of the pre op photos he has taken – I was shocked, I felt so sorry for this sad looking person that I once was. Now I am just over a month in and my face is still in recovery but I am receiving lots of positivity from friends and colleagues “fresh” & “10 years younger” are two common phrases and my husband looks at me and beams when he can see how happy I look, I am now even able to push black eyeliner on my top eyelid, something I haven’t been able to do for over a decade. Mr Banwell I can’t thank you enough for giving me my life back! I love it !

Having my first consultation was some what embarrassing for me. From first meeting Mr Banwell his professionalism as well as his light sense of humour, made me feel at ease. When discussing the procedure with me, he did so with confidence, which gave me the reassurance that this was a surgeon that "knew his stuff". In turn, my communication with his PA was both professional, friendly and very cooperative. It was also very kind of her to call me the day after surgery to ensure my wellbeing. I felt that I needed a further consultation before the surgery and Sarah (Mr Banwell's PA) organised this very swiftly. On the day of surgery the nurses were lovely. Furthermore,Mr Banwell came to visit me before hand for the "last measuring" and again with his lovely bedside manner made me less nervous. He came to visit me straight after the surgery and again told me what I wanted to hear, that "it all went well". Since the operation, I have had two follow ups and Mr Banwell made it very clear on how to go about my after care. I felt that I could ask him anything further, if I needed clarification. Mr Mile's nurse Marico was also lovely. Again so caring and so pleasant upon welcoming me. She was also very gentle, when it came to removing my stiches(which I had slightly worried about). I look forward to seeing him again and have already recommended him to a friend who wants to have the same procedure. I will be eternally grateful for his "magic hands" and that delightful sense of humour, professionalism and consistency throughout this experience thus far.

An amazing surgeon and such a lovely man. I had a septo-rhinoplasty procedure. After several nurses at the hospital commenting on Mr Banwell being a 'perfectionist' and assuring me that I was in very good hands I knew I had nothing to worry about, and needless to say I am SO pleased with the results. Also - his secretary is lovely and they both provided fantastic aftercare, contacting me every day for a week following the surgery. If I were to need another cosmetic procedure in the future I would 100% go back to Mr Banwell.

He is amazing so gentle and so honest i has no pain I'm a year on and he is the best :) breast augmentation. He took all the right options that suited and fitted my size. I was very nervous and he calmed me

i am now 14 days post surgery and am extremely happy with my results , i cannot recommend Dr.Banwell enough from my consultation right up to my procedure he made me feel at ease and i was confident enough to leave the decision in his hands on what was the best size for my shape, he was their even when i was in recovery to check i was doing okay which i thought was really caring , i would definatly be back to mr banwell if i ever needed another cosmetic procedure.

My story: I am 42 years of age and was recently diagnosed with Basal Cell Carcinoma. I was referred to Mr Banwell by my previous consultant for his expert opinion on the excision of my skin lesion. Having never been into hospital for anything before, I was extremely nervous!!!

On the 21st September I had my first consultation appointment and was feeling very nervous! As soon as I met Mr Banwell, he made me feel at ease instantly. With his calm confidence and reassurance he explained everything very clearly to me.

The 28th September, and the day of my surgery had arrived. Yet again, I was feeling very very nervous!!!! but as we started chatting at the beginning and throughout my surgery I felt like I was in the safest pair of hands ever.
He was very supportive and made me feel relaxed and most importantly reassured me throughout to put my mind completely at ease, and he did an amazing job!
As such the caring man that he is, he even went out of his way to see me prior to his clinic hours to remove my stitches.

I have total confidence in Mr Miles Banwell, he is very professional, approachable and caring and I would highly recommend him to anyone!
