Update at 1 year out: I have lost 100 lbs! I love my new lease on life! One year later I feel great, look great and am able to do so much more! I regret nothing and am so glad that I decided to go to Dr. Navarre last year! I have had no complications, am off all my medications and am pain free compared to a year ago! Thank you so much! From the first contact I had with Baristic, until being released, was great. Dr. Mariana was always available to answer questions and guided me through the process. Dr. Navarro was also available to chat for questions and concerns. I arrived the day before surgery and was picked up by their driver Henry who spoke perfect English and gave me some tips for after surgery and places to go near the hotel for broth and drinks. The morning of surgery they picked me up at the hotel and took me to get ready for surgery in my private room. Mariana was there and helped me prepare. Dr. Navarro came and and asked me if I had any questions and sat for about half an hour. Once everything was ready, they came and got me for surgery. The hospital is small, but nice, and everything is in one building. I was moved to the operating table and was prepared by the anesthesiologist and the next thing I knew, I was being gently awakened by the medical staff. I was then taken back to my room and made comfortable. I was told to start walking as soon as I can. They checked on me often during the night and gave me pain meds as necessary. They also gave me meds for nausea and an antibiotic. Most of the nurses could speak functional English, but if there was a translation issue, there was always an app on thr phone. When the pain from the air pumped in for surgery got to be bad, they gave me a stronger pain med and Mariana even went and picked up a heating pad for me. She also picked up my injections that I needed to take home with me. Dr. Navarro came Navarro see me the next day and showed me a picture of what was removed and sent me a copy! I stayed at the hospital for two nights. By the third day, I felt much better and able. I was able to consume some liquids and had passed my three leak tests. I was then released and was picked up and was with other patients from another hospital and dr. It took about an hour and a half to cross the border due to traffic at the border. I was then dropped off at the hotel near the airport which shuttled me to the airport the next morning for my flight. Thanks to BARISTIC and the doctors, I am able to have a second chance at my health. Without this opportunity, I could never afford it in the States and I would still be on the wrong path. My care was as good or better than any care I have received in the States and I was able to have privacy as much as I wanted. I felt secure the entire time and never doubted the expertise of the medical staff. Thank you Dr. Mariana and Dr. Navarro!
My sleeve was 2/23, it wqs the beat experience from the beginning to the end! The care and cleanliness of the facility was A+++. I am planninh on goimg to the surgeon that Dr. Navarro recommended to skin removal. I would recommend Dr. N to everyone!
My experience with Dr. Navarro from the very beginning with booking up until my last day at the hospital was absolutely amazing. His coordinator Mariana made everything so easy for me, from the hotel stay to transportation. Everything was just a smooth process with Dr. Navarro and his team. When it was time for my surgery 6/10/21, the nurses and all the doctors were so welcoming, informative and knowledgeable. The hospital itself was very clean and sanitized, they took every precaution for COVID while I was there. My post op surgery care with the nurses and doctors was amazing, they checked up on me every hour or so, made sure I was as comfortable as could be. The rooms were spacious and even had an extra bed for my companion in there. They had Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime and more and on the TV, which definitely helped pass time while there. On my last night Dr. Mariana had my medical records and medication ready for me to take home, Karen the nutritionist had my post op diet plan ready as well. I left home very prepared with all the information given to me by them, which made me have an easy transition at home. I recommended Dr. Navarro to family and friends. Ever since then I have had a family member go to him as well and they had a great experience too!
Great Doctor , excellent team of nurses & nutritionist , he speaks fluent English, easy to communicate with , always available to answer questions and concerns even post op . Superb bedside manor, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. A+ Doctor
I researched bariatric surgeons for a year. I finally found Lighter Dream, which made me feel very comfortable. My coordinator was Desiree who was the BEST! The Doctor who did my Sleeve was Dr. Navarro. I researched him for about 6months and found NOTHING negligent or horrible about him. I searched all search engines but nothing came up. I now know why, he is a REAL genuine person. Dr. Navarro was very polite, kind, and through. He was the best!!! I also had the best experience with my pick up at the airport from Julio and my drop off at the Real Inn hotel which was GORGEOUS and CLEAN! We was then taken from there to CIBA hospital. The staff there was so AWESOME Amelia, Tony, Catia, and Dr. Arevalo he was the BEST! They took very good care of me. I was discharged with medication and love !!!
In August I booked my surgery with Miguel Navarro. I scheduled for surgery the end of October. The trip there was fine. I used a company as an intermediary. They provided me with a driver to pick me up from San Diego as well as a one night stay at a nice hotel in Tijuana. My surgery went well. I was super sore the day after but by day 4 of being post-op I hardly felt pain. The hospital checked for any complications and x-rayed for leaks before releasing me. I spent about 2 days in the hospital. Most of the staff were friendly and spoke decent to excellent English. It was a sore ride on the way home, but everything went well and perfect honestly. Miguel Navarro Viramontes did so well. He's very skilled. He speaks perfect English and he's very attentive and respectful. I did not meet him until right before my surgery, but I felt assured and in safe hands. I also want to shout out to Mariana. She's amazing as well. I received the best medical treatment of my life in a foreign country. I'm American and from Florida so this speaks volumes! Updated on 11 Feb 2021: I forgot to mentioned the name of the service I used was called A Lighter Dream, it provided the hotel in Tijuana and the driver to and from the airport and to the hospital. Yes my surgery was performed in a hospital. I also forgot to list my starting stats too. SW: 278 Weight before surgery: 269 CW: 203 So being 3 months post op, I still can't eat much. I eat a little more than I could before, but after one or two bites I'm full. I still can't enjoy breads, pastas, cookies/crackers, or rice really. I try to focus on eating meat and soft steamed veggies. I really love soups the most. If you have any questions ask me anything. I'll add photos soon.
