In my experience laser hair reduction takes a minimum of 6 treatments before you will see significant results. These treatments are suggested to be scheduled&nbsp;4-6 weeks apart, which is crucial to the outcome. The reaction that your skin is having to the treatment is most likely folliculitis, which is an inflammation of the follicle.&nbsp; With time this reaction will subside.&nbsp; It&nbsp;is important to not aggravate the areas as you might spread bacteria.&nbsp;&nbsp;

I keep shaving daily but the hair doesn’t come off. Is the laser not working on me or is this normal?

What is the MonaLisa Touch treatment and how does it work?

In my experience, I've found that it is beneficial to stick to the suggested time frames for treatments as indicated by your provider.&nbsp;That being said, different areas of the body may require different time frames for treatment (i.e. underarms and lower legs usually range from 4-8 weeks).&nbsp;The type of laser may also affect the necessary time frames.&nbsp;The key to a good treatment is not letting the three stages of the&nbsp;hair growth cycle lapse&nbsp;too many times. If this happens you may need more than the recommended amount of treatments.

I go to college in L.A., so for 10 weeks at a time I'm in L.A. and then I'm in Sacramento for the whole summer and autumn, winter, and spring break. Would 10 weeks be too long to wait between appointments? Also, do the time gaps have to be consistent? For example, could I wait 10 weeks between appointments 1 and 2, but wait like 4 weeks between appointments 2 and 3? In case it matters, I have light skin and black, thick hair. I was interested in laser hair removal on my underarms and lower legs.
