Very Happy with Dr Schenden and his staff Margaret thank you so much for a nice consult, I’m very happy I did the Dermabrasion followed immediately by a C02. Been suffering and picking from acne and acne scars since 10 th grade and yes I had picked on my skin and I still kind of do when I start thinking about life, stressed, nervous so forth. I have tried everything to smooth my acne scars but have not seen any results from so many treatments in the past and yes out of costs we’re about 10 k here’s what I have done are in the past: Fraxel laser, Halo laser, Ematrix laser, Photoshop laser, Microdermabrasion , Chemicsl peels, Pdo threads, Microneedling, Microneefdling with Prp And maybe few other that don’t come to mind at the moment . So I start research on the most aggressive treatment because I do not like going for sessions I thought I should try this Co2 since I’ve tried everything else and plus I like the idea of a 1 time treatment ! Updated on 7 Feb 2020: Hello guys and thanks for looking plz check with me day to day photos and tell me what you all think. I just can’t wait to see the skin I use to have.. if you guys have any questions feel free to ask oh by the way this was a 1 layer of Dermabrasion followed immediately by a Co2 deep for deep scarring and active c02 for all over. I am not a large person (5’3, 125 lbs.) but I definitely had some extra/loose skin after 3 pregnancies. I knew I wanted a tummy tuck and consulted with about 5 doctors including Dr. Schenden. He ended up bing the most expensive out of the 5 but I still chose him and I’ll tell you why.. he has fantastic bedside manner, is polite, caring, and answered all of my questions really well. His staff is nothing short of amazing. All of them are willing to go out of their way if you need something, just like him. After my initial surgery I didn’t love it, I wanted to be a little tighter and he said no problem and he revised for me. What I’ve learned about Dr. Schenden is that he will do whatever he needs to ensure that you’re happy with your result. And he did just that for me. He truly cares and is very compassionate. He’s a great plastic surgeon and truly a wonderful person. He definitely knows his stuff. I love my new stomach. Thank you Dr. Schenden!!
Hello Real Self-ers! I will begin this with saying that I am no stranger to plastic surgery. I have had a rhinoplasty, 450 CC breast implants (which I am SO happy with), liposuction under the chin (again, a great decision), fat transfer to my lips, and multiple Juvederm injections in my lips. The last two procedures have been seriously disappointing. The fat that was injected into my lips 100% reabsorbed, and the original surgeon overfilled my lips to accommodate the inevitable fat reabsorption (which happens during every fat transfer); therefore I looked like a duck for approximately 2 weeks. Juvederm does NOT last very long for me, as my body must metabolize it faster than most (within 3 months). It is for these reasons that I decided to get Permalip. I got 5mm implants in both my upper and lower lips, and I am very happy that I decided not to go smaller. I will summarize by saying that I am 110% thrilled with my decision; however it was (surprisingly) the most painful procedure that I have ever had. Yes, despite the fact that I have had more invasive surgery, and liposuction under only local anesthetic, this ranks as #1 on the pain scale. I did this under local anesthesia with Dr. Schenden, who was so kind and gentle. I am seriously happy with my decision to visit him, and recommend him to any Metro Detroiters who are looking to get lip implants. His nurse was INCREDIBLY sweet, and she really helped calm my nerves. Because I did not go under general anesthesia, Dr. Schenden administered dental blocks to numb my mouth. I truly believe that this is what caused the pain, as they were understandably stronger than what you get at the dentist (or what some plastic surgeons give you before regular hyaluronic acid fillers). The procedure was about 45 minutes, and my case was a little bit trickier because I had fat transfer to my lips in the past, thus creating scar tissue (it is much more invasive than people think). Once I was done, I was given an antibiotic and prescription painkillers, which I was dependent on for the first 48 hours. The residual nerve pain from the dental blocks was killer, but beauty is pain! I slept upright and regularly iced my lips, which made a huge impact! If you are employed, I would recommend taking off at least 5 days (or one full business week) for recovery. My third day of recovery was on Christmas, and I was still very swollen. My lips were firm, and my speech was impaired due to these variables. Needless to say, I was awfully quiet at my family Christmas party! My speech was completely normal by week one, and my speech and lip movement vastly improved by day 5. I am now almost 2 weeks post-op, and my speech is 100% normal. My lips are now really soft and move naturally again. There are some irregularities in my upper lip due to scar tissue from continuous lip fillers, but it is not noticeable in person and does not disrupt the symmetry of my face. I love how fuller lips can make the surrounding features look smaller and softer. In summation, I would recommend this procedure to all of those who are sick of getting lip fillers. It is a great investment, and they can be easily removed if you are not happy with the results. Updated on 14 Jan 2017: New pics added....very happy! I can speak, eat, and move my mouth normally. Updated on 14 Jan 2017: Thought I'd post a full pic so you can get an idea of what my lips look like in proportion to my face. I am happy with the size...there is nothing less attractive than someone who gets lips that do not fit their face. Sometimes bigger isn't always better :)
I was referred to Dr. Schenden by a friend of mine. My experience from the very star which was an appointment with Dr. Schenden to discuss the procedure and get his recommendations, was incredible, he was very attentive, did not rush and address ed all my concerns very professionally. The clinic and spa staff were incredible, knowledgeable and very friendly. After the procedure my pain medication upset my stomach, my husband call the after hours phone number and dr. Schenden himself returned the call and called another prescription. Dr Schenden is a great doctor with incredible bedside manners. Having cosmetic surgery can be an stressful event but I never felt one bit concerned or stressed because I was certain I was in great hands. I had a breast augmentation back in May 2014. I went in a 34b and now I'm a 34d. I couldn't be happier with my results. I never felt nervous that Dr Schenden didn't understand what I was looking for. He explained everything to me and always made sure I was comfortable and sure of where I wanted to be at. I told him I wanted to be tasteful and that's exactly what I got. The whole experience was so positive I've already recommended 2 friends to him! I had zero complications! Great experience. Great doctor and great staff. You're in good hands with Dr. Schenden
I admit it. I could easily be a plastic surgery addict. I had my nose done 20 years ago. I had breast implants when I turned 40, and last year I finally got my tummy tuck after 4 kids who were all huge babies. I've always wanted plump lips. My lips are decent size but they are rather flat. I got juvederm in September and loved it. I could just apply gloss instead of doing the whole lip liner faking it out thing. I knew this was something I wanted to last so I did the research and decided to go for the permanent option. I came into some extra money so I took the plunge. The dental block was horrific, hurt like hell! I couldn't feel anything but tugging but now, a few hours later it hurts. I took a percocet, it still hurts though! I will check back in tomorrow. I'm pretty bruised but the swelling isn't too bad. Updated on 8 Jan 2015: Day after, much more swollen today. I've been eating those squeeze pouch fruit and veggie things. Still painful but not as bad as last night. Didn't go out today, wouldn't have been able too! Look pretty bad. Updated on 8 Jan 2015: Just took this one, 27 hours post - op. Updated on 8 Jan 2015: Updated on 9 Jan 2015: Hi, it's been 48 hours now. Still painful and still very swollen. How long does it usually take? It seems like I've read that most feel almost normal by now. Anyone have any input. Updated on 10 Jan 2015: Hi, it is now 3 days after surgery. Still tenderness and soreness. I don't think my lips are quite as swollen today but I notice a yellowish bruise around my mouth. In some angles I worry that they aren't going to look even. I hope it's just because they haven't settled. I also hope they don't deflate too much, I want there to be a difference. I've always been torn on the plastic surgery thing about being upset if no one notices and doctors saying a good job is when people don't automatically know! I've sent updated pics. Updated on 14 Jan 2015: Hi, it's been one week today. Swelling subsided, easier to move lips. I'm going back to work tomorrow. I'll have to hope makeup covers the bruising. It's hard to see in the picture because of the pattern of bruising, you can't really see the actual shape of my lips. I think they will look better after a bit more time. I'm surprised I had so much bruising because I've never gotten much from other injections, even though this is more invasive. My lips feel stretched and dry but I'm sure that's normal. So far I have no complaint except for the discomfort that I expected. It's amazing what I've been willing to put myself through and pay the price for my vanity! ;) Updated on 15 Jan 2015: Went back to work today. Had to use makeup to cover bruising. My boss, who I told thought they looked nice, natural. I was concerned this morning because I thought the top looked lopsided and I've read other reviews from people who had similar problems. It seems like I can feel the implant all through the lip so maybe I just still have uneven swelling like the doctor suggested. I guess more time will tell. Will keep updating. They still feel funny, kind of numb and stretched but I had to talk a lot more today! Updated on 19 Jan 2015: Almost two weeks, I'm liking them! Updated on 28 Jan 2015: It's been three weeks. I think the doctor did everything right, at this point I can't complain. I don't know if they are as big as I had hoped but I tend to want everything over the top! I wish they would make a larger implant. I know the objective of all this stuff is to appear natural, I know I'm body dysmorphic though as I told cherrysweet ???? Updated on 7 Feb 2015: It's been 1 month today. I think the doctor did a good job and they look natural but I still wish they were a little "plumper". I have exercised my entire life and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get rid of the fat on my stomach. I will be 60 in June and thought that if I didn't do it now I never would. What a wonderful gift to give myself! I am very happy with my results. I wish I knew beforehand that it takes 3 months to recover and to start exercising again and being "normal". The doctor tells all of us 6 weeks but it took me 3 months.
Wanted a more feminine petite nose.
Could not get the fat to burn off from certain areas no matter how much I worked out.
I have always made sacrifices for my children and family members. I now want to do a few things for me. This is one of them. I'm looking forward to having a new belly. April 28th is the day! My first consult didn't go well. I could have given up but instead found a new PS to see. I felt very comfortable with the entire staff. Completed my pre-op today, paid and now to count down the last 12 days. Waiting is always the hard part. I can't wait to wake up in recovery, even with the pain!Updated on 18 Apr 2012:10 days to TT & Lipo of flanks and back. Excited!!!
Scar tissue is the glue that heals our bodies. Scars will fade significantly over the years however, you will always have a hint of a scar. We take every effort to minimize the size and area of the incision. We recommend using a scar reducing ointment post surgery to obtain maximum fading.
Yes you can have a breast lift without implants. Many women have enough breast tissue to lift and still have a full looking breast without the need for an implant. Your doctor can determine this before your surgery.
Most surgery centers prefer you do not. Your oxygen levels are read through your nail beds throughout the surgery and recovery. Polish or acrylic nails enables your anesthesiologist to monitor your levels. Some centers may use a ear piece monitor as an alternative. Your surgeon will inform you as to what their center requirements are.
It is normal to experience an increase in secretion post-surgery. The medication typically administered during surgery will dry up your secretion for airway safety. Post-surgery you will experience an increase as your body re-hydrates.
From the photographs, it appears you would be a very good candidate for a breast lift. With a short scar mastopexy (breast lift), the sagging would be reversed and the areolas should be able to be reduced significantly. Be sure to discuss all of your breast issues with a board certified plastic surgeon. Some may even have 3D imaging which may help in your decision making. Best of luck to you.
