Dr. Bateman and his entire staff are wonderful. Dr. Batemen is an exceptional surgeon. My mother went to him after being diagnosed with breast cancer for reconstruction in early 2000 he did an amazing job on her ...I went to see him march 2017. I had a tummy tuck /breast lift reconstruction with implant removal and new implants put in.. recovery is recovery it takes time.. OK sadly I thought I finished and had submitted this review in 2017 Wow..when I had the procedure, now six years later hitting submit !! Still best surgical procedure I have ever had done. My body looks complete different than those before shot’s (especially the first once) .. the photos after show the progression 3 ,6 12months each better than last fantastic . I lost weight , no more back pain my stomach is flat .the extra liposuction I thought I needed , Dr Bateman was right , I did not need it. It’s all gone. The body transformed has he explained to me, within the first two years. My body became exactly what I asked for. The recommendation of eating right and exercising actually did work once added it on to my pickleball routine. The whole mommy makeover procedure was the best decision. I’m so grateful that Dr Bateman did the procedure. I highly recommend Dr Bateman for any procedure , my personal experience is mommy makeover ,amazing results. lucky I found the perfect guy to do it.. well my mom did ! My mother looks fantastic you can’t even see anything on her reconstruction anymore. I’m grateful that I did it , the makeover changed everything in my life. His staff as I said earlier wonderful .I just have to go back and visit them for some more things. I forgot to mention aftercare it was wonderful. Dr Bateman has an amazing upbeat positive bedside manner which makes everything feel better. Thanks Dr Bateman . Hope to see you soon Marie paonia Colorado . .
Depending on if you ask my surgeons or insurance company I had a mastectomy/lumpectomy/breast reduction surgery where Doctor Bateman was my plastic surgeon. I had to have a large mass removed from my right breast (the mass was about the shape and size of a mango pit) and my left breast reduced to match. I went from bra size 34/36DD to 34/36C breasts. Let me tell you how amazing it is to be able to walk around naked now. I can even fit into off the rack bikini tops! Dr. Bateman did an amazing job. I am 1.5 years out from my surgery now and I still have scars and probably always will but they are light and are nothing compared to how good my breasts look and feel now. They're perky for the first time in my life! My breasts fit better with my body, the mass is gone, and I can walk around bra free like I should have been able to as a teenager. I don't have stretch marks anymore and when the spray-tan girl tells me to lift my arms so she can get under my breasts, she can because they aren't laying on my rib cage like the gravity victims they were. I am no longer one of those women who is afraid that one day she will have to stuff her breasts into her socks to keep them from dragging. If you're like me and have a mass, or if you've always had massive breasts and wonder what it would be like to walk around with normal sized breasts, get the reduction--it's awesome! Seriously. Totally worth the scars. Also, follow the doctor's directions...use the scar spray/cream and massage religiously. There will always be scars but you get to dictate how bad they are. The scarring is on you. My scars are a little lighter than my skin color and the shape of a lollipop. There is a line that goes from the bottom (underneath) my breast up to and around the areola. Dr. Bateman also reduced the size of my areola from the size of a silver dollar to a quarter. I would also like to share that my surgery took place at the time it was scheduled for, not 2 hours after. I was under for about 5 hours. Had zero pain before and zero pain after, and any other pain was managed with drugs. I was off drugs and driving 5 days after surgery. I was walking around the mall on Black Friday 3 days after surgery. I took a total of 3 weeks off and that was mostly because I was exhausted from the 5 hours of anesthesia. I guess the rule is that for every hour under you need a week to recover your strength. I was under for 5 hours and should have taken 5 weeks off but I was back to work in 3 (tired but in no pain). Dr. Bateman did an amazing job! Again let me emphasize how easy it is to find, buy, and wear a bralette (underwires were a must before) and a non halter bikini :)
Dr Bateman and his staff are absolutely amazing! I've never trusted & felt so comfortable with a group of people taking care of me. They made a difficult decision so easy because I felt supported all the way! And of course he does great work and I'm beyond thrilled with my results!! I can't thank Dr. Bateman enough! I would highly recommend Dr. Bateman to anyone!
I was very disappointed with my consultation with Dr. Bateman. I scheduled my consultation four months ago and was very excited to get scheduled for top surgery (FTM bilateral mastectomy). His office staff was nice enough, but I was kept waiting 35 minutes past my appointment time. As soon as he came in, Dr. Bateman told me that I would have to lose 40 pounds to reach an arbitrary BMI before he would clear me for surgery. I was not even allowed to schedule a surgery date unless I met the BMI criteria. I should note that while I am overweight, I am also a former firefighter and weightlifter who has a lot of muscle and am in good health overall. If Dr. Bateman had displayed any empathy or consideration towards me during the consultation, the BMI would not have been an issue. I would have worked hard and come back in a few months for another consult after losing the weight. However, the rest of the consult gave me serious trepidation about moving forward with choosing him as a surgical provider. I simply have never been treated like this by a medical professional, ever: Dr. Bateman had an overly casual bedside manner, including using inappropriate language during my consultation. I do not use that kind of language, much less in a professional setting. Called me a “cis female” (I am a transgender man) to my face when he was describing why he would require me to have a mammogram, even though I am too young for mammograms and I have dense fibrocystic tissue and they aren’t going to be able to see anything on the mammogram. Told me it was “bulls***” that wearing a chest binder could cause serious injury to my lungs when I expressed concern about being denied surgery and tried to explain that this is not an elective procedure for me. Told me that I wouldn’t have sleep apnea if I would lose some weight (my AHI is 71 and I have had sleep apnea since childhood, including when I had a BMI of 18). Forced me to undergo a humiliating breast exam, even though he would not allow me to schedule a surgery date. Would not show me any photographs of his surgical results. I am seriously, seriously angry that I waited 4 months for this consult. I am sorry that I wasted my time and I think there are other providers who are more respectful to us and our community that I would rather give my hard-earned dollars to.
Here we go! I'm two weeks out, and I have been following along side of so many of the RS community. Supplies are bought, bags packed, and nerves are official! Dr. Bateman was referred to me by Dr. Aguirre, who will be doing surgery just b4 my TT. to preform a full tummy tuck. After meeting with Dr. Bateman and his team, I knew I was on my way to moving forward with my new me! I enjoyed his manner and his professionalism. I have a herniated belly button that was repaired around 6 weeks ago, and this could be a complication to the TT. Dr. Bateman was to the point and told me a major risk was looseing my bellybutton. (more detail only if you want to ask!) I get it! I'm on board! I've done all that I could these last couple months. I'm ready.
