It was my first time having surgery in Turkey, so I genuinely didn’t know what to expect. I’ve had multiple surgeries in the UK and Dubai, and out of all the surgeons I’ve seen, Dr Gocek was by far the most professional and thorough. He was also very caring and kind throughout the whole process, which made a big difference to me — especially being there alone. I had a revision rhinoplasty because my previous surgery left me with a bump I didn’t have before, and my nose was still too bulbous. Dr Gocek completely corrected everything — the result is exactly what I wanted, and I couldn’t be happier with my nose. The level of skill and technique for rhinoplasties in Turkey is much more advanced in my opinion than UK / Dubai. Dr Gocek is also extremely precise and clean in his work. I woke up from the surgery with no bruising at all, and my healing has been much quicker compared to my previous surgery, where I had visible bruising for weeks. The level of aftercare was great and really stood out. With my previous rhinoplasty, I was sent home and only seen again at the end of the week to remove the cast. With Dr Gocek, I was seen every other day — he personally cleaned, checked everything, and made sure I had the right medications at each stage. It felt very thorough and reassuring. Even small but important details, like advising me to sleep on one side based on the fact I’m left-handed and my nose naturally tends to shift slightly to the left, to help it heal as straight as possible. That’s something I was never told before, and it really showed how detailed and considered his approach is. As this was my first surgery in Turkey, I was concerned how the hospital care would be, but the nurses were some of the best I’ve experienced compared to the UK and Dubai. Although they didn’t speak much English, they were extremely professional, confident, and knew exactly what they were doing, which made a big difference to me — especially when it came to anaesthesia and overall care. The communication with Dr Gocek has been great throughout. I’ve never had direct access to a surgeon like this before where I can message them directly to ask a question — even now post-op, if I have any questions or worries, I can message Dr Gocek directly and he replies very quickly, usually within minutes. Overall, the whole experience felt very safe, professional, and smooth from start to finish. I would 100% recommend him, especially for revision cases.

I couldn’t be happier with my rhinoplasty results, and choosing Dr. Mehmet Gocek was one of the best decisions I’ve made. One of the most important reasons I chose him is that he is an ENT specialist, which I believe is extremely important when selecting a doctor for rhinoplasty. Another big factor for me was that Dr. Gocek is not one of those “overly famous” doctors who have become disconnected from their patients. There are surgeons who are so well-known that they see too many patients and cases, which often leads to less attention, less care, and very “copy-paste” results. Dr. Gocek is the complete opposite — he hasn’t “let fame get to his head,” and you can truly feel that he cares about each individual patient. He performs only one surgery per day, and that alone says so much about his dedication and focus. He actually sits with you, listens carefully to what you want, and designs results specifically for your face and your needs. He does not give the same nose to everyone. Every case is treated individually, and the result is customized, natural, and suited to your features. My entire process was smooth, comfortable, and honestly even enjoyable. His team was amazing and made me feel completely at ease. They gave me medication to relax, explained everything clearly, and supported me every step of the way. I felt so comfortable that I would genuinely do it again without hesitation. Even now, two months post-op, Dr. Gocek still checks in with me and responds very quickly whenever I have a question. That ongoing care and communication means so much to me and really shows his professionalism and commitment to his patients. I had my rhinoplasty with Dr. Mehmet Göcek and I’m beyond happy with the results. From the start, his staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel comfortable, and Dr. Göcek was kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. He showed me a simulated image of my future nose, carefully listened to what I wanted, and truly delivered. My nose didn’t hurt at all after surgery — only some rib discomfort, which eased by day five. ...read moreDr. Mehmet Göcek - Septorhinoplasty (Turkey) What went well: • The surgery itself was smooth and uneventful. When I requested an earlier surgery time, they accommodated me - I arrived at 11am and was in surgery by 1:45pm. Dr. Göcek met with me before surgery, was present in the OR, and saw me right after I woke up. • Recovery was manageable with no infections or major complications. He made himself available for follow-up questions and sent me massaging technique videos. • For the first 3 months post-op, I was happy with the projection and refinement. He gave me a slightly upturned tip that I like, and people have noticed an improvement. What didn’t go well: • After my online consultation in April, I paid a €1000 deposit. In May, I sent morphs showing what I wanted (more projection, refined tip, smaller nostrils, increased radix). He refused to discuss the morphs remotely and said we could only talk about it in person when I came to Turkey for surgery. • When I paid €1500 by card (in person) for cadaver rib cartilage, I was charged the Turkish Lira equivalent rather than the actual euro amount - another example of unclear pricing practices. • In person, he advised against my goals by asking how important it was to me to “preserve my ethnicity” - making it about my ethnic appearance rather than medical feasibility. This assessment didn’t require an in-person consultation, yet he refused to discuss it even after I’d paid my deposit. • One nostril was significantly more congested than the other for 5 months post-op (really bad for 4 months). When I raised this concern, he brushed it off saying “it can’t be 100% even.” I had to conclude on my own that it was likely asymmetrical swelling. It improved after 5 months but there’s still a noticeable difference in congestion between nostrils. • At 3 months post-op, significant deprojection began and has continued slowly since then. At 6 months, my nose now looks very similar to my original nose - the main features I wanted changed (projection, radix, definition) didn’t last. Most concerning: • After I shared concerns in a public patient group chat (where potential patients research surgeons), he privately messaged me on WhatsApp saying I was “disparaging” him and questioning why I was voicing concerns publicly. I know other patients have experienced this silencing tactic as well. • His assistant also messaged me after I posted this review with a hostile, accusatory tone - asking why I “wrote everywhere” instead of contacting them first and claiming I never communicated my concerns. They pushed for a consultation to “address my concerns,” but given the aggressive messaging and the fact that at 2 months post-op (before significant deprojection) they actively encouraged me to leave reviews on Google and RealSelf, their intentions felt more like damage control than genuine care. Now at 7 months, suddenly I should “wait until a year.” The hypocrisy and hostility made it clear that talking to them wouldn’t be productive. • Additionally, I’ve noticed his social media showcases Asian patients at 1-4 months post-op when projection from swelling is still present, rather than showing results after deprojection has occurred. This creates unrealistic expectations about what the lasting outcome will actually look like. Do I recommend? No. He refused to discuss my surgical goals even after I paid my deposit, then advised against them for non-medical reasons once I arrived. Pricing wasn’t transparent. He dismissed my post-op concerns, lasting results were minimal, and he inappropriately contacts patients who voice concerns. The timing of when they want reviews versus when they discourage them is telling.
