Hello, This doesn't sound normal. Healing time is usually one week. Your symptoms should improve with time not worsen. It sounds like you have developed a post op infection.  The grafting procedure might be compromised.  Have your surgeon reevaluate the site as soon as possible.  If the graft is compromised: <ul><li>It will need to be removed,\</li><li>The  assumed infection can lead to pain at the site of the surgery</li><li>Pain can radiate to the jaw on the same side of the surgery  </li><li>The white tissue can be attributed to clotting or indicative of poor healing (infection). </li></ul>If the graft is not compromised: <ul><li>You many need a different antibiotic.</li><li>Follow up appointment to re-evaluation the surgical site to rule the other potential issues.</li></ul>Hope this is helpful.  Best Regards,

I had old implants for dentures removed a month ago along with cadaver bone graft. Took antibiotics, rinsed mouth and was feeling better. Noticed a week ago I started having cold like symptoms. Now I have bad jaw and mouth pain, white gums and headache. What could it be?

Hello, Bonding and Veneers are both good options. You need to decide if you want a long term solution vs. a shorter one. Consider the following: Veneers: <ul><li>Natural looking</li><li>Last longer </li><li>Color stable</li><li>Consistant color with no visible margin</li><li>Required more preparation of enamel then bonding</li><li>More expensive</li><li>Usually sent to a lab and requires 2 visit about 1-2 weeks apart. </li></ul>Bonding: <ul><li>Tend to look flat if not layered correctly </li><li>Shorter life span</li><li>Discolor overtime </li><li>Margins become visible overtime</li><li>Required less preparation</li><li>Less expensive.</li><li>Usually done in one visit chair-side for immediate solution</li></ul>My recommendation is to determine what you want to achieve and consider the costs. Veneer cost can range from $1500-$2500 depending on the area you live in, whereas Bonding tends to be much less and range from $500-$1000.  Although Veneer tend to be more expensive and require more tooth preparation, they may be the best recommendation for your front tooth.   Best regards,

I had a cracked teeth when I was 15 years old and my dentist made a bonding for it... As you see in the picture I need to fix it and I don't know what the best solution is a new bonding ? veneers or... ? Can you help please ? Thanks!!

It is advisable to get a comprehensive dental exam with x-rays and digital photos. Express your concerns to your dental provider prior to initiating treatment.   With this, you and your dental provider can discuss concerns and all possible options.   Some options can include small modifications of the canines to shorten or to round off the points, as long as the modification do not adversely affect your tooth or your bite. Help please. What treatment could I have done to reduce the size of my fangs and have all my front teeth equal in size. I wouldn't mid to put veneers on if I have to but not to make my teeth bigger. Any solutions? Thank you in advance.

Keeping it simple There are many types of bone grafting material available today. The major types include: Autografts(ones own bone), Allografts (human source), Xenografts( animal source), Synthetic (engineered). Autografts are the best from a compatibility standpoint. Xenograft, however are widely used by most surgeons when Autografts are not indicated. Grafting material is also selected based on the clinical procedure, clinical demands and outcome expectations.

What is the best material for Bone Grafting for implants?

Bone grafting will last a long time. However, 5 yrs. maybe too long to assume all the bone is still present. Have the site evaluated to see how much bone is available. If there is, an implant can be your best choice. Once implant is placed, the bone should remain. &nbsp;An Implant will help you avoid having the natural teeth on either side ground down for a bridge.

I was born without one lateral incisor. I've had braces to close gaps and make room for implant. My bone graph was done 5 years ago. Is the implant still the beast way to go? There is no other problems with any teeth or gum issues.

Whether or not you have a one or an 11 unit bridge, the gums should not look like this 7 weeks post op. &nbsp;It looks as if the bridge has not been fitted very well. As a result the gums are able to heal/ tighten up. The lack of healing can be attributed the following:<ul style="font-size: 15px;"><li>Poor bridge margins( where bridge meets the tooth)</li><li>Compromised Hygiene due to fitting concerns&nbsp;</li><li>Poor hygienic design preventing you from being able to clean you teeth/bridge.</li></ul>Recommendation is to see if your dentist can remove the brige and have it redesigned. &nbsp;Unfortunately,&nbsp;if it has been cemented with a permanent cement, the only&nbsp;option is to have it removed, designed and remade. I had an 11 tier bridge placed permanently after 7 weeks of healing from two extractions and other dental preps. The gingivi that doesn't hurt but concerns me, is that between a few of the new crowns that isn't firm yet. This was complete yesterday and I am concerned it will never be firm like it use to be with the old bad crowns. Please help! I am anxious and don't want to worry anymore and eat normally.

Bridges require the preparation of the adjacent teeth to allow placement of  an artificial tooth. It may be undesirable that healthy teeth have to be prepared for an artificial tooth to fill the space of the missing tooth.
