After many months reading all the reviews on real self I booked in to have liposculpture on my abdomen, waist and hips with Dr Heckenberg.
I was well aware after reading others experiences with other doctors, that there could be a lot of pain and discomfort after the treatment but I am so surprised at how well it all went.
Dr Heckenberg does the procedure while you are awake and under local anaesthetic, which means recovery is much easier. The local anaesthetic Dr Heckenberg uses also acts to restrict blood flow so bruising after the procedure is significantly less than that of other types of lipo.
She only uses tiny canula holes ( 2mm where other docs use 6mm or more) which don't even need to be stitched and means you are left with minimal if any scarring.
I went into the procedure with a lot of anxiety, but now I am just excited to see my results. I can already tell under my compression garment my waist is and tummy are so much slim.
I'll post before and after photos as soon as I get them.

Today and yesterday I’ve been quite sore. The funny thing is when you lay, sit or stand still you can’t feel anything but when you move.... ouch!
The pain is by no means overwhelming, it’s just annoying, and the more you move the more exhausting and irritating it gets.
Today I had to do some work so I went in for 2 hours, which was fine.
I’ve been able to cook dinner, and even do a quick light vacuum of the house.
I went in for a check up with Dr Heckenberg and I’m so excited to see my results. I can see already that my waist is significantly slimmer.
She told me to expect swelling to set in over the next few days.
It’s hard to avoid my kids grabbing me and hugging me around the waist.
Will post pics soon

Today the swelling has set in, and it’s a bit uncomfortable. The swelling ached a bit and it has dropped so my groin area is very swollen and slightly bruised. Each day the pain gets better and better.
I’m doing pretty much normal things now, but sitting still as much as possible.
I’ve been walking lightly for 30 minutes each day and I honestly think it’s really helped with healing and reducing swelling.

I’m still slightly swollen but it’s starting to decrease now. The Pain is significantly less now too, and it’s much easier to move around.
Funnily enough I’ve been able to sleep well this whole time.
I’ve still been walking everyday and I swear it’s helping the swelling go down.
Even with the swelling I’m still slimmer than before so it’s easy to hide it under clothes. I cut off my compression garment to mud thigh length so it’s easier to hide under clothes.
The hardest thing has been finding clothes to wear that aren’t too tight on my waist.

By now a lot of the swelling has gone down , there is still some harder swollen patches on my abdomen and back but I’m sure they’ll go down over the next few weeks. Everyday the pain decreases and it’s easier to move around.
The compression garment is making me itch though! Argh!
You can really see changes in my body now and it’s so exciting!
The shape looks great, and it really hasn’t been a very hard process at all. I think if you were getting your legs done at the same time it might be more of a struggle, but for me my legs weren’t done so I was fine to walk as much as possible.
I will take photos and post before and after this week

It's been 5 months since my lipsculpture with Dr Meaghan. I couldn't be happier. I feel like a new woman, I look down at my belly and feel like I have another womans torso!
I can wear a bikini, which I haven't done in years. all my clothing looks better.
I think all in all the great results outweigh any discomfort and the recovery of the procedure my miles!!!
Seriously the pain really wasn't that bad. I wouldn't even call it pain, just discomfort and that only lasted a couple of weeks.
There were tiny nerve twinges that went on for about 2 months after the treatment if I wore clothes that were too tight or if I had a hot bath. It's the nervy twinges that are the most annoying, and the amount of time they went on for.
Now 5 months on, I feel completely normal and look great.
Looking back the treatment itself wasn't painful at all, and the recovery was nothing compared to having kids!
