Blessed with deep under eye ditches thanks to genetics. Was always self conscious of them in photos since I was 12-13. Researched a lot about how less invasive they are and hardly any pain. A friend recommended Dr. Matthew Epstein. His nurse is very friendly and welcoming. He is very conscious of not over loading with fillers and giving that unnatural looking result. Overall great experience. I am going in for the rest of my filler. I found it interesting that they save your product. Not sure if other places do this. But I was more comfortable with small injections for my very first procedure. It wasn’t painful at all. I also got laughing gas to calm the nerves. I have had a headache since my appointment which i hear could be a side effect of laughing gas. But it was worth it. I am not a fan of needles.
Green Lake Oral and Facial Surgery is a great place. Dr. Epstein and his staff are wonderful. Everyone on the team is very knowledgeable, professional, caring, friendly, and thorough. As soon as you arrive the front desk is always very helpful and make you feel very welcome. Moreover, Dr. Epstein is terrific and provides excellent results. I felt well taken care of at this practice and I highly recommend them.
I needed orthognathic surgery to correct an underbite. Pros: -Permanent solution to bite issues! -Lost weight due to liquid diet during recovery. -Better looking profile (side view) of face, more proportional. Cons: -Week 1 of recovery was rough (literally only able to sleep and watch tv) but I was able to function normally by the end of week 2. -Needed ~1 year of braces before the surgery could be done. -Insurance may or may not cover this type of surgery, even if recommended for a clinical, medical reason.
Kybella is good for dissolving fat, but not for tightening skin. You would be a good a candidate. You would need multiple treatments, 2-4 spaced out every 6 weeks. The benefits of liposuction is that you can have your treatment complete in one session.
Most studies evaluating surgical outcomes state that greater than 2mm of boney or implant augmentation are needing to see any clinical changes. I believe you would need much more than a 1.5mm chin augmentation to improve your profile.
This is something you will discuss with your surgeon. There are some anatomic limitations, but the crease can be set, within reason, at whatever height the two of you decide. This is one of the beautiful things about eyelid lifts! It's a very rewarding surgery.
It is hard to tell from the photos you took what the submental area looks like and if you even have much fat to treat. The way that Kybella works you need at a minimum two treatments to see any effect. Most people are unable to perceive any difference after one treatment. The average patient requires 2-4 treatments of 1-2 vials per treatment.
Those bumps are quite common with upper eyelid surgery. They typically go away over the next couple months. Be patient and after a month has passed you can gently massage the incision to soften the little bumps. If they aren't resolved after 6 months a laser or radiofrequency device can smooth the incsion line. Typically sutures are removed 7-10 days, but possibly there was a clinical reason to leave longer in your case.
