Wonder experience, results are better than I could have dreamed. I breathe so much better and my nose is straight. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone. Surgery, recovery were better than expected. Pain was minimal and results are perfect.
Dr. Hlavacek is a wonderful surgeon!! He went over the procedure and recovery step by step and helped me decide on the best size to go with for my breast augmentation. I couldn't be happier!! It was the easiest surgery I've ever had. Recovery was a breeze! His bedside manner is top notch. The office is clean and top of the line and all of the staff are caring and knowledgeable. I have found my forever surgery center!
Dr Hlavacek is one talented surgeon, trained in dentistry, oral and cosmetic surgery. I am a physician myself and after years of working long hours, I had developed dark circles under my eyes as well as crepy skin with fine lines. I wasn't sure about the best treatment but after consultation with Dr Hlavacek I decided to go with his advice and have a lower blepharoplasty and laser. He explained every step of the procedure and gave me multiple options to have this done in steps. In the end I decided to go for the full treatment and I am so happy I followed his advice as it was the best decision of my life. I wish I had had this treatment years ago. I look and feel ten years younger. The dark circles have all but disappeared as have the fine lines that aged me so. His follow up was so thorough. The nursing staff in his practice are very professional as well as being extremely friendly and always make me feel very welcome. I would recommend this procedure and Dr Hlavacek in particular. I would give 6 stars if I could.
For the past couple of years I've noticed my face becoming more squarish and less heart shaped. I don't have a lot of sagging or loose skin yet, but I'm not happy with the more masculine shape my face is morphing into. I'm scheduled for a mini facelift on December 1st. I will also have lipo under my chin and around my jaw line. I've considered this for a long time. I've had various fillers with various levels of satisfaction. At this point it just seems like fillers are a waste of money, especially since they have not given me te results I want. So, after multiple consultations I've decided to go for it. I'm so excited, yet unbelievably nervous. Updated on 29 Nov 2016: I got all my scripts (antibiotics, painkillers and such) and supplies today. I bought arnica gel and tablets. Hopefully that will keep me from bruising too bad. I also bought a travel pillow to help me sleep on my back. I think I'm good to go! Updated on 1 Dec 2016: Well it's all done. I had my surgery at 8:00am. Everything went smoothly and now I'm home. I'm so happy to have it over with. Now, I just need to concentrate on healing and recuperating. I had general anesthesia, so I can't really say what the process was like, as I slept through the whole procedure. Right now still feel really groggy and nauseous from the general anesthesia, but I'm not in pain, my ears do feel a bit tender, but not painful. I'll go back tomorrow to get the mummy wrap off. I can't wait to see what's going on underneath all this wrapping. Updated on 2 Dec 2016: I got my head wrap off today. Thank goodness! My ears were swelling throughout the night and by morning that head wrap felt like a vice grip. I'm really swollen and tender, but not in much pain. day 3 is suppose to be when swelling is at its worst. I can't imagine being anymore swollen than I am right now. Yikes! I can't wait for the swelling to subside so I can see the final results. So far I really like what I see. Updated on 3 Dec 2016: Well I've always heard day 3 and 4 are the worst days for swelling and I'm no exception. My head looks like a deformed potato and I'm starting to get a lovely bruise under my right eye. Most of my swelling is around my temples. I've been lucky not to have too much bruising so far. I had a rough night last night, couldn't sleep and felt really naseous. Narcotic pain meds have never agreed with my system, so I'm sticking to ibuprofen from here on out. Although, despite not sleeping well, I've felt great today, more energy and less pain. So, there's that. Good news is that I removed the chin strap today and I absolutely love my new jaw line. I'm very pleased with my results so far. Updated on 4 Dec 2016: I didn't think my face could get anymore swollen, but I woke up this morning looking like a squished marshmallow. So far I've had minimal bruising, so imagine my shock when I looked in the mirror this morning and had a big shiner under my right eye! Somehow, the left eye has no bruising or swelling. I swear, I'm a weirdo when it comes to healing. I'm hoping the swelling will start to subside tomorrow. My energy is pretty much back to normal and my incisions look great. I'm cleaning them 2-3 times a day with diluted hydrogen peroxide and slathering those bad boys down with polysporin. I've included a few more pics of my incisions all ckeanedup. The first pics of my incisions were knarly looking. I'm really pleased with the placement of the incisions. They're actually not in front of the ear, but rather along the inside edge, which will make them much less noticeable. Updated on 6 Dec 2016: I was beginning to feel like my head might actually explode. I was so swollen on day five I was miserable. My ears felt like they were swollen shut and my eyes were super puffy. And, just like that, I woke up today and the swelling is probably 70-80 gone. Yay! I can finally, somewhat, see the results. So far, I'm really pleased. I think today, day six, is my turning point in healing. I keep checking my face every time I pass a mirror. However, now that the swelling has subsided, I can see bruising that I didn't see before. It's not bad, actually just some yellowing around the neck. My black eye is slowly getting better too. I took arnica tabs everyday and I have applied arnica gel to neck and face twice a day. I'm not sure if it made a difference, but I think it has helped minimize my bruising. I felt good enough to walk the dog today. I wore my compression garmet out and just covered it with a big scarf and hoodie. Thankfully, I didn't run into any of my neighbors :-) Updated on 8 Dec 2016: I can't believe how fast time is flying. My swelling is about 90 percent resolved and my incisions look great. I don't have any pain anymore, stopped taking pain meds about 3 days ago. I'm not even taking over the counter pain relievers. Yesterday I started feeling a weird tingly sensation on my cheeks and scalp. I guess thats nerves regenerating. So, I'm healing! Yay! Also, my cheeks don't feel quite as numb today. I can't wait for the feeling to come back 100% It's so weird to have parts of my face numb. I feel great. The bruising on my neck is barely noticeable and my black eye is starting to fade. Overall, it's been a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I've enjoyed lounging around the house all week in my pajamas watching Christmas movies. Tomorrow I get my staples out and I'm going to run a few errands. Hopefully all goes well. Updated on 9 Dec 2016: Got my staples out today, didn't hurt a bit. The incisions look really good. I'm beyond thrilled with my results so far. I still have a little swelling, but not much. It's been one week and one day since surgery. Today was the first day I've put on makeup and ventured out to see people. Next week I go back to work. I'm a little nervous to see people who know me and are accustomed to seeing my face. Updated on 15 Dec 2016: It's been two weeks today that I had my surgery. I can't believ how fast the time has gone. My incisions are healing nicely and the numbness on my cheeks/jaws gets better everyday. I went back to work this week. I was nervous that someone might notice I looked different. A couple of people told me my skin looked pretty, so I know they're seeing something different about me, they just don't know what it is. I'm still really pleased with my results. As the swelling goes down, I'm noticing how much nicer my face shape is, more heart shaped and less square, which is exactly what I wanted. Updated on 24 Dec 2016: It's been a little over three weeks now. I still have some minor swelling, but it's probably only noticeable to me. The scars behind my ears are flattening out. I was actually able to sleep on my side for a bit last night, which was nice as I'm usually a side sleeper and this sleeping in my back business has caused some restless nights. Anywho, I'm a bit nervous to see the family tomorrow for Christmas. I guess the ultimate test will be when I see my mom. She notices everything, and I mean everything. I met a friend I haven't seen in a while out for drinks a couple of days ago. She kept asking me if I'd done something to my skin/hair and whatnot. I didn't fess up right away, but eventually told her. She was fascinated, asked a million questions, lol. The little waitress, who was probably all of 22 years old, carded me. I almost fell off my seat. I haven't been carded in years, like 10+ years. I don't think I've ever been one of those people who looked young for their age. I have a thin angular face, so I've always just looked my age. It's been kind of nice having people tell me I look young for my age now. That's new for me. Updated on 8 Jan 2017: I got a facelift mainly because I wanted the squaring in my jaw and the sagging in my lower face fixed. However, I have noticed a few extra perks after my face lift that I wasn't even expecting. My mid cheek area and temple area look much fuller. The whole silloutte of my side face looks rounder and less hollow. I never even realized how aging that aspect of my face was until I compared side by side photos. Almost all my swelling has gone down now so I'm hoping this is permanent. Another thing I noticed is that my pores look much smaller. At first I figured this was just swelling, but now that 90% of the swelling has subsided I still have much much smaller pores. I know that's a silly thing to be excited about, but as I got older I felt like my pores kept getting bigger- you know the dreaded orange peel skin some older women get. I guess it makes sense though, sagging skin will make the pores look larger, so when the skin is tightened the pores will appear smaller. Not gonna lie, I'm really happy about this unexpected perk. Has anyone else noticed this after a facelift? The other thing I noticed is that my chin doesn't dimple anymore. It is smooth, almost like I have filler or Botox in it. I guess it is smoother because the skin is tighter. Before my face lift I was considering getting Botox in my chin, as it was starting to do that golf ball thing as I aged, but now I have no dimpling what so ever. Anyone else have this happen as well? Of course my under eye hollows are still just as bad. I know a face lift doesn't usually help with the under eye, but I have read a handful of reviews where people thought the under eye improved slightly after their face lift. Mine still look the same, maybe a little bit better because my cheeks are higher. I guess my only option there is fat grafting.
Exceeded all my expectations. Dr Hlavacek is an extremely talented surgeon. I would highly recommend him and this procedure. He is thorough, meticulous and a perfectionist. The staff at his clinic a e stellar.
