Dr. Rounds worked on my nose and my sister's nose, which were both quite a mess, and did an absolutely beautiful, amazing job. He took both of us on the same day for the operation and made it as easy, comfortable and pain free as can be from beginning to end. To begin, I am an extremely anxious person to begin with and was beyond nervous for the surgery, especially once it was booked. I have always hated my crooked big bumpy hooked nose and knew from a young age it was something that would bother me that i would have to deal with. But as i got older the more and more scared I became of surgery and avoided it. Finally, the timing worked out and it was my chance to finally suck it up and do it. The amount of how distorted and inaccurate my scary perspective and expectations of the surgery were were laughable. It was a piece of cake to be completely honest (in my experience at least, keep in mind that everyone reacts differently, as i saw my own sister react quite differently than i did). My first consultation with him went very well, he was super friendly, funny, and warm, made me feel very comfortable and at ease, and was completely honest with me. He even went in to his office hours early to set up the computer imaging program for me because he knew how freaked out and particular I was, but unfortunately the system was not working that day. Anyways, he listened to me, had me point out all the things i didn't like about my nose then gave me honest and realistic answers as to what he could and could't do and explained thoroughly the reasons why. He drew pictures for me to give me an idea of what it would look like. I left feeling confident and excited for the next step. Come operation day, everything went smoothly and i surprisingly had way less anxiety than i ever expected. I was brought into the pre op room where all the nurses were extremely nice, comforting, friendly, and helpful. They put in the IV which was truly the only slightly "painful" part of the day and really, it was nothing at all. The anesthesiologist (who was wonderful by the way) gave me a type of anti-anxiety sedating medication thru the IV and next thing i know I see Dr. Rounds as enthusiastic and ready as can be and am wheeled off into the operating room, totally at ease. As soon as I was lifted onto the operating table i was out and i think that was even before they gave me the anesthesia! 3 hours later (which felt like 5 seconds) i wake up in minimal pain and am totally blown away by the ease of the whole thing. No pain, no nausea, and very little dizziness. I was up and ready to go as soon as i woke up but maybe thats just me! The next 8 days were not as bad as i expected. Very little pain just a lot of boredom, irritation, and slight burning sensations from the stents in my nose which were really the only downside but the painkillers helped a lot with that. Most of the pain came from the pressure of the stents, the stitches, swelling, and tenderness of the tip of my nose. I had some oozing and bleeding for a couple days which is normal so i wore the drip pad for those days and changed it about every 15 minutes. I was so excited and ready to get the stents out and splint off to see the results and how happy was I when the day came. For me, the stents and stitch removal was quick, easy and not very painful, actually a relief. I could finally breath since the swelling and congestion was pretty tough in the beginning especially with the stents in. When he took the cast off i was amazed. I finally had the straight, bump free, cute nose that i had dreamed of. And the best part, it looked totally natural! This is because this man is an artist at heart. He worked with my face so much so that my nose now looks like the nose i should have always had. And the changes are so discrete yet noticeable that people i have not told tell me how great i look yet cannot figure out exactly what it is about me that has changed and that natural look is what Dr. Rounds has mastered! And those that do know cannot stop complimenting my nose. My sister has been getting the same reactions as well. And not to mention, my breathing has also improved dramatically, something i had not noticed was a problem until after the surgery! Overall, Dr. Rounds fixed my basically broken nose that has been a deep insecurity all of my life, something i was bullied for as a kid, and gave me my confidence back. The whole experience was exceptional overall and i cannot stress enough how easy, tolerable, and incredible the whole process is. And i still have a ways to go as the healing can take up to a year to be complete and i cannot wait to see the improvements my nose makes over the next months. This man is a highly skilled surgeon, artist, and perfectionist and it is safe to say you are in good hands when you are with him. Trust is very important in this process. And a shoutout to his whole staff who were always very friendly, prompt, and helpful throughout the whole experience. I am more than grateful for this life changing decision and cannot thank and recommend Dr. Rounds enough. Thank you!!!!
I wish I would of read these reviews before entering into the most important surgery of my life. Dr. Rounds in person seemed to be very knowledgeable and when I told him several times I wanted to make the bridge of my nose smaller and straighten out one side of my cartilage because I couldn’t breathe he kept suggesting on what he thought would be best for me.Thinking the whole time that he was listening to my request seeing that I was the one getting the surgery and paying the money you think that he would listen. He actually made the point of my nose larger, didn’t fix the cartilage that was blocking my nostrils and left me very very unhappy. I reached out to the office several times to have a word with his receptionist Nami (Humaira Huda) and she was no help either.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DR. ROUNDS AT ALL! Stay away from this guy, this is a warning!!!! He will leave you in worst shape then when you went in. Terrible experience, I don’t know how this guy has not been sued yet or lost his license. The cost for the surgery out of pocket was more than $8,500. What a waste of time and money.
