When I was younger I had beautiful tatas perky and round and even still OK after nursing my first child. I lost a little bit a weight and then got pregnant with my second baby, nursed him and he sucked everything out of me! My breasts totally deflated and I hate to look in the mirror even with clothes on. I knew they would never be the same. Your whole body changes during and after pregnancy but I knew I could work on everything else but unfortunately there's no help for my poor boobies besides surgery. I have a few friends that have had breast augmentations and lifts done so I started talking to them and they recommended a doctor so I set up a consultation appt not expecting to go through the surgery just yet but was curious as to what he would say. He was very nice, comforting and professional and so was his nurse. He told me I would need breast implants with mastopexy (lift). We looked at different sizes and types of implants and selected 385 ccs high profile. I scheduled my surgery for two weeks later, April 22nd. I couldn't believe I was actually going to go through with it but I was so excited! As the surgery date came closer I started getting really nervous, even more nervous than when I had my c-sections! All my friends said you can do this, it's totally worth it and the pain is tolerable and the first 3 days is the worst. The day finally came and here I am with new boobies and so glad I did it however I am in a considerable amount of pain and I'm pretty much sleeping all day. I also got sick from the anesthesia so I was dizzy and throwing after surgery for about 5 hrs! That eventually subsided and I was cleared to return home. I was given Valium for a muscle relaxer and percocet for pain. So far it's tolerable. Feeling pretty tight but still hanging in there. Can't wait to see what they look like once they're healed! Updated on 23 Apr 2015: Forgot to include pics. I hate even looking at my before pics:( so glad I went through with this! Updated on 23 Apr 2015: Pretty sore....definitely have to stay on top of pain meds but doing OK. Updated on 24 Apr 2015: The pain is getting a little better. I can lift both my arms up to wash my hair! I got to shower today and take dressings off! Also, I'm trying to get up and move around some more but all I want to do is sleep! Maybe from the pain meds? Updated on 26 Apr 2015: My right side feels fine and I can lift my right arm over my head. My left aide is higher, much more swollen and painful and I can only lift my left arm about 90 degrees.....anyone else have one side that feels this way? Is it normal?
I had my surgery on 5/24/10 and I am very pleased with my results so far. I had to have an additional scar revised on my upper abdominal area, so I have an upside down T scar, but it is worth it, I am flat and I love it. I still have some tenderness, some days worse depending on my activity. I am 50 and had a pot belly with some sagging skin from 2 c-sections and a hysterectomy. It feels so good to not have that roll of fat over my pants and I don't miss my belly sitting on my lap!! The pain was severe the first few days, lots of rest and using the prescribed pain medicine really helped. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Updated on Jul 3, 2010: Still feeling a little sore. Hoping to be able to get back on my treadmill soon. Does any one have soreness or swelling around their naval? Updated on Jul 6, 2010: 6 weeks post op pictures!!! Bought a new bikini yesterday!!! Wearing it today with sunscreen on my incision!!! So happy, still feel like I have a little bit of a bump near my belly button.....but honestly looking at my pictures I am 100% happy so far, I have lost a total of 13 pounds since my surgery, some due to staying away from snacks!! Not sure how much they removed, I forgot to ask, I will when I in this week for my 6 week check up. Updated on Jul 8, 2010: I went for my 6 week check up today. PS and staff all said I look great!!! I asked lots of questions and was very reassured that my concerns are all normal, the soreness and swelling around my naval will subside by 3 months. My PS told me that the swelling is scarring and will soften and no creme or ointment will make a difference....so buy myself a shirt instead!!!! Using sunscreen on my incision lines when I go out to the pool, and wearing a new bikini!!! I got the ok to start back up on my treadmill and bike riding, not sure I have the energy for it but I plan to hop in the treadmill and do a mile later today, I will wear my compression garment for the extra support. I still have the fear that I might pop something and end up with a big bulge!! I am going back to work on Monday, I get restless and stiff in the same position after a period of time, so my plan is to try full days and if I am uncomfortable and want more time off or to work half days let them know and they will let give me any kind of doctor note I need. They are very compassionate and flexible. Which they should be, it is not as if I didn't pay for a service!! I love them, so that makes going back to work bearable, knowing that if it is too much I have an option. This site has been so helpful in giving me reassurance during my recovery....I wish I would have discovered it prior to my surgery. Thanks all for the wonderful posts!!! Updated on Jul 8, 2010: Today it has hit me like a ton of bricks that I still feel crappy : ( I don't think I rested well for the past 6 weeks....I did too much around the house. I recommend to anyone considering a TT to rest rest rest!!! Updated on Jul 17, 2010: I went back to work last Monday....it was a long week. I have a desk job, nothing physical. It was really hard sitting all week, I got up and moved around a lot. I was very restless everyday and couldn't wait to get out. I don't know how many of you go back after 2-3 weeks. It was pretty uncomfortable having the waist band of my pants on my tummy all day....threatened every day to wear my work out pants on. I am still pretty tender around my naval area, and still feel a pulling twitch like pain along my mid line. When I sit for along time my mid line scar gets stiff, so I rub lotion on it which temporarily helps....can't wait to feel normal again so that I am not constantly aware of the fact that I recently had surgery. I am also having more hot flashes and night sweats, probably from the pain from my surgery, and the anxiety of recovery and going back to work. I still feel swollen, but all in all I am super pleased with my results so far! Updated on 13 Apr 2011: Going in for Lipo of my torso and thighs tomorrow. Also a repair of a separation near my naval from my tummy tuck last year. I have a new doctor, my original doctor did not think I had a separation....he just didn't want to admit that I do or fix it!! So excited to have the lipo that I didn't think about last year until after my tummy tuck I will update with new photos soon!!
