41 and Time for a Change

Tired of being the "big" girl when I eat like a bird and work like a man. My BMI hit 41 with no other complications and my pcp said I was a candidate for bariatric surgery, with insurance approval. I have blue cross blue shield and was approved. Surgery was 35 days ago and I feel great, lost about 25 pounds since having procedure done. Can't wait to see the scale numbers drop  Updated on 29 Aug 2017: So I had my surgery April 18, 2017 and today is Aug 29 so it has been 133 days. When I started this journey I weighed 278 I'm 5 ft 8 inches, my BMI was 41 proud to say today I weigh 215 and BMI is down to 32!! For anyone who say surgery is the easy was out I have news it's way harder than most think. You totally change your relationship with food. There are favorites that you can not eat anymore. My struggles lately is protein, having a real hard time getting enough daily so I went back to a protein powder daily to help. Also I have switched my multiple vitamins to one bottle of the all in one bariatric choice multi-vitamin with calcium citrate they taste good and are reasonable on amazon.com I paid $26 for a 120 cont bottle which is 30 days worth cause you chew 4 a day. Right now life is good, feel good body has changed and trying to adjust to my hair thinning but doctor says it's normal and I won't go bald ????! Updated on 29 Sep 2017: 5months down 68 ponds lost so far, feel great. I wear a size 14 shorts down from a size 24. Still struggle to get protein in daily so been drinking a shake to help make the quota. Have problems eating certain foods they just give me a weird uncomfortable feeling in the tummy. Having gastric bypass surgery has been a blessing, I have tons of energy able to keep up with my 22 month old grandson no problem. Hair loss has subsided got to make sure you take you daily vitamins and biotin. Was having skin issues where my sagging skin from overhang so doctor checked and gave me a statin cream best stuff ever. I was getting boils and they are painful. So don't hesitate to ask your doctor if your having issues it's common. .
