Im looking forward to this but june just not my time. Updated on 3 Aug 2016: Im so going back and fourth about this, i had a free consultation with Dr Michael Gray he seems nice and well educated. The group beinging consult was kinda fun and interesting, he talked quick but made alot of since when he described his procedure style Hourglass tummy tuck. His prices where pretty good. I may just have him do my tummy tuck soon... But i have to wait on a couple things to confirm my procedure. Im thinking basic hourglass tuck no lipo, and ill just get lipo when i get a lift and back scuplting.
My recommendation would be to do both. Using RetinA can enhance the effects of a peel. Plus, retinoids promote collagen growth in the long term which will help to soften fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improveskin texture changes/pore size. Pore size reduction is achieved through peels (such as salicylic and retinoic acid) which attempt to reduce the amount of sebum or oil produced from the gland hiding in that pore. Swelling/healing from cosmetic procedures can also produce a reduced appearance of pore size..
Obviously a proper diagnosis is needed. Once that is established, we have many options for treating an actinic keratosis on the side of the nose: TCA peel, liquid nitrogen, home application (via prescription) of aldara/imiquimod, diclofenac or 5-FU. The most important part is ensuring its resolution without any unwanted effects!
I agree with the other responses. Acne flaring for that long of a duration does not seem to be directly related, any residual redness or disomfort from your procedure- especially this far out- is quite unusal. You should follow up with a dermatologist to ensure you are not having a reaction to the product. Hopefully this is simply a bit of chronic rosaea or perioral dermatits.
The Vbeam works wonderfully for those telangiectasias (pictured) adjacent to the nose. We use them for vascular birthmarks, the pink color left in scars and strecth marks, the diffuse redness or telangiectasias in rosacea, as well as cosmetically undeisirable facial and leg veins. Go for it! It is a simple office visit and may only requre 1-3 visits for complete resolution with little to no down time.
Depending on degree of sun damage, acne, scarring, risk of hyperpigmentation, skin sensitivity, climate..the list can go on...like all things in medicine, they ar best tailored to you specifically. The small sample photo shows some acne and hints at pigment irregularities. There is a need for treatment (acne) and prevention (sun block/protection) to ensure continued good results. You would most likely benefit from a good maintenace home regiman in conjunction with an in office peel.
