A review of social media memories over the weekend reminded me that it's been awhile since having cosmetic surgery. Most men are afraid to share with others – especially strangers – that they have had “work” done. I am not one of them. I met Dr. Lisa Learn through a patient/friend who had undergone a cosmetic surgery procedure. A fellow gastric bypass patient, my friend underwent an abdominoplasty – or tummy tuck – procedure. She looked great and I wanted to look great as well. In desire of ridding myself of extra skin following a 160-pound weight loss, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Learn at her Fort Lauderdale office. It was an initial consultation to determine whether my insurance company would consider such procedure medically necessary.Initial consultation went great. I met Dr. Learn and her assistant – Teresa – to discuss options. I provided medical records and photos were taken for submission to insurance. As a guy who has never “cared” for his “looks,” I took advantage of the consultation to discuss my face – especially around the eyes and jaw/cheek area. I was not happy with what I thought were droopy eyelids and sagging cheeks.Dr. Learn agreed, basically stating that the cheeks/jawline “issue” were the result of massive weight loss. As for the droopy eyelids, it was explained as part of the natural aging process. Long story short, I decided on several procedures to immediately improve my “look.” Blepharoplasty - surgery for my upper eyes; and “Profound” - a laser non-surgical procedure to tighten up my cheeks and jawline. Voluma XC and Bellafill would thereafter be considered as dermal fillers. All procedures would be performed in the office with local anesthetic. Surgery day came and went before I knew it. First the blepharoplasty, then the “Profound” laser treatment. With my eyes, I could see an immediate improvement. As for the cheeks/jawline, Dr. Learn had fully explained that an improvement would not be seen for several months.Over the next few months, I had a number of “follow-up” visits with Dr. Learn. During these visits, I received both Voluma XC and Bellafill – which I learned was a relatively new dermal treatment that not only stimulates collagen growth - but could last for five years. As for abdominoplasty, my insurance company denied benefits and I decided to “self-pay” for the procedure.Thereafter – and only hours before the scheduled procedure – I chickened out and cancelled surgery. I’m not sure if it was peer pressure not to have the procedure or the “possible” six-week healing process. My “look” has changed to the point that I cannot reuse old social media photos. I “look” that different. Thanks, Dr. Learn. Vero Beach, Florida.
Doctor Lisa Learn has changed my life I’m in sweet tears, sweet happy tears Please tell me I’m not dreaming Still swollen but their beautiful My name is Evelyne 31 years old with 4 beautiful kids and I had a breast reduction and lift at Imperial Point Hospital 2/12/20, procedure at 5:45 am done by Dr Lisa Learn , I can honestly say that this woman has transferred my entire life for the good!! I’ve been getting so many compliments from my before and after pictures from family, friends,FB Breast reduction support group. I am still in AWE of how beautiful my new breast looks. I went from possibly a 40/42 G saggy and long breast to now a 38 C perky and youthful breast. I’m in tears and cannot believe how beautiful and well constructed they are and look— this Doctor is my hero and I think she’s truly a magician. I will forget be grateful for this transformation that she has done for me. Thank you so so so much Doctor Lisa Learn. You are my hero!
So I got a breast reduction yesterday ( 7/17/18) by dr.learn And I must say little to no pain what’ so ever. Dr learn is The best, She’s very attentive, caring , and makes you feel 100% comfortable, her staff as well . Can’t wait to see the final results
I am absolutely thrilled with my results! I needed a revision to correct severe capsular contracture and asymmetry from my first surgery 17 years ago. I also wanted a more natural look and feel from my old saline implants. I had consulted with another “top” surgeon in SoFL and was so horrified by his bedside manner that I left his office in tears. I was referred to Dr. Learn after telling a friend about my bad experience. After meeting her and her wonderful team, I booked my surgery immediately. I knew I made a great decision when the hospital staff commented that all the doctors go to her for their surgery. Her pricing was extremely affordable and I loved that she was honest about what I did and did not need. She is kind, caring and absolutely meticulous about her work. She is a true artist! I was also surprised that she personally called in the evening to check in on me. I appreciated the extra touch, and felt cared for as a patient. The result is better than I could have imagined. She is a perfectionist!
I have always been slender and athletic. At 49, I was competing in Sprint Triathlons. I did weight training and I ran for years. Even when my body fat was at just under 14%, I had the inherited double chin. I am posting my experience because I wasn't able to find enough pics of women my age and their results. My skin isn't as elastic as a 25 year old, but it isn't too bad. I did have a facelift 3 years ago, which helped with some of the extra skin, but it never really addressed my jawline. My procedure was 3 days ago and not including the prepping, it only took about :10 minutes. I was so nervous beforehand, but it did not hurt at all during or even now. The most uncomfortable thing is the compression garment, which I have to take off once a day for about 5 minutes to readjust it. I am sharing the worst of the worst pics of me and added one that isn't so bad. I will add more pics as I go along...
I had a breast augmentation just over 3 years ago by Dr. Learn. I was a very small A cup at the time. I met Dr. Learn through a referral by one of my best friends. As soon as I met with her, I knew she was the right choice. I had my surgery 2 weeks later. I had the best, easiest experience. I had 0 complications. Literally 0. My breasts are absolutely beautiful. They have gotten better and better with time-which I didn't even think was possible after they had initially dropped and taken their shape. I'm a full C small D now, depending on the bra (if I choose to wear one.) She's the best. Great bedside manner, great attention to detail. I would recommend her to anyone, and I work in Plastic Surgery-so that says a lot. I went to her instead of my own Doctor.

Dr. Lisa. J. Learn changed my life. I recently had breast reduction on May 9th & I feel like I'm starting a brand new chapter in my early twenties. Her staff is amazing, Dr. Lisa is beyond amazing & so caring. She made me feel like so better about myself. For 12 years, I had low self -esteem & I was very insecure about myself but now I feel so confident & that's all thanks to Dr.Lisa Learn & her staff. If you're thinking about choosing her for any operation, trust me you'll be in great hands.
This was the best decision I've ever made and I couldn't have picked a better surgeon! Dr. Learn and her staff was amazing, sweet, kind and always helpful. That's just the icing on the cake. Aside from the exceptional care and professionalism, *MY BREAST LOOK AMAZING* ! I have always tried to hide my breast; they were large and I had large unsightly areolas as well. Dr. Learn has seemingly performed a miracle and now I can't stop staring at my own breast. I never thought I'd see the day that I'd be happy to look at my breast. My only regret is that I didn't make the choice sooner.
I have loved my experience with Dr. Learn so far. I'm currently 2 weeks post op and feel great and am healing well. Dr. Learn made me feel comfortable and confident that I was in good hands from the beginning. I had no idea that the shape of my breast were tubular/tuberous. She explained what she would do to correct it and did not pressure me to choose an implant size I was not comfortable with. On my surgery day she greeted me with a huge smile and excitement making me completely forget that I was minutes from going under the knife. And I can't forget Alex, her receptionist, he's a sweetheart and very professional. Updated on 15 Sep 2014:
Congratulations on your decision to proceed with the mommy makeover. This is a life-changing procedure and I'm sure you'll enjoy your results. In answer to your question, I feel that you could undergo liposuction at the same time as your other procedures, keeping in mind that it will increase your anesthesia time and recovery time. It would be up to your personal plastic surgeon based on the amount of time he/she will need for the other procedures and if the liposuction is a small area. I hope this is helpful and best of luck with your procedures.
