Dr. Santos was referred to me by a friend who is ‘in the know’ in Houston. I wouldn’t have found her by a google search- because she has a boutique practice. I’m an athlete- but 40, nonetheless. Last year I had my breasts augmented and a little lipo to my waist and upper thighs. Last month I had just a little more lipo to my legs. My results are PERFECT. Dr. Santos is so incredibly patient, nice, and confident that I immediately trusted her. My breasts are perfect after surgery- they are well suited for my athletic frame and as she likes to say, “I can hide them or show them off!” The size is just right (270 cc). The lipo also perfect- her sculpting techniques are flawless. No lumps or bumps here!!! Even those of us who eat clean & workout have ‘problem areas’. Not anymore!!! You will love Dr. Santos and your results!!!
On May 6th, I had a mastopexy (breast reduction) with removal of my 12 year old saline implants and replacement with new silicone implants. She closed both breast pockets to bring the breasts back in (they were far apart- I nursed all 3 of my kids and when I did, my breasts got huge so the pockets were very stretched out). I also had a tummy tuck with muscle repair and fat injected into my face to restore lost volume in my checks and folds beside my nose and mouth. The procedure was long (my surgery lasted 14+ hours). I stayed 2 days in the hospital. I am PO day 17 and had my stitches removed today. Everything is looking good so far! Before getting my surgery done, I had gotten back in shape and lost all of my baby weight. I do cross fit and love to exercise. No matter how hard I worked at the gym, I always had a "pooch" despite having carved out abs along the sides of my tummy. My breasts were saggy too and, after losing my weight, you can actually feel the saline implant just under the skin along the underside. Plus, when I would lay down, they were practically in my armpits! My belly button was super stretched out too, which I just hated! Updated on 24 May 2013: My stitches are out but I'm still swollen. There is a small accumulation of fluid around my TT incision in the center but the doc seems to think it is small and will resolve itself. I can't fit into all of my clothes because of the swelling but I think that's totally normal so I'm not worried. I was worried that she made my nipples too low but she assures me that they will rise and I stand up straight and my skin stretches out. Oh, how I wish I could stand up straight!!! I'm so tired of the pulling feeling and my back hurts from hunching over. All in time, all in time... I had my saline implants removed for silicone and I love the way these feel! They are so much more natural feeling, and lighter! I also had them reduced by 50cc so they are a tad smaller. The scars around my nipples are so thin and I'm really happy with that. Other than that, I miss working out and my poor husband is getting tired of bearing the heavier weight of the household responsibilities but that too will pass. Updated on 30 May 2013: Slowly, but surely, I'm gtting back to work and getting a little straighter. I'm still tender and sore and needing Advil or Tylenol 3 every day. I'm sleeping more flat too. My tummy is swollen above my incision but the fluid that was there seems to have gone. Normalcy still seems like a million years away but I know it WILL come. :) Updated on 30 May 2013:
I have been flat chested my whole life. I breast fed both of my babies and even full of milk, was only a B cup. Even though I lost all of the baby weight, my 2nd C-section left me with deflated mosquito bites and diastasis recti (3 fingertip wide) and a pot belly that looks like I'm 3 months pregnant. I've had to buy all new loose fitting tops to hide my belly and what can I say about all of the padded bras... I interviewed 2 surgeons last year who were both referrals, and wasn't totally convinced. Waited 3 months just for a consultation with Dr. Santos, (also a referral) and glad I did. She was so friendly and down to earth, not arrogant at all. She spent over an hour with me to determine the right procedure, implant size and to discuss all the possible risks. She wasn't pushy at all, said to take the information home and call back with any questions. She is definitely not the cheapest in town, but has an excellent reputation, and her before and after photos are exactly the look that I am going for. My Mommy makeover is scheduled for Feb. 23, less than 3 weeks out, eeeeek! Getting modified tummy tuck with muscle repair and BA with 350 CC silicone implants. I don't want ginormous boobs, I just want to look natural for my body type and finally fill out a bikini top for once! Pre-op appointment is Monday, this is really getting real... will post some before pics soon.
