December 13,2016 I had a breast reduction/lift performed by Dr. Mayfield. Dr. Mayfield explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable. My recovery - to me has felt very quick and minimal pain...however....everyone is different and I DO have a high pain tolerance. I went from a DDD to C. WOW....they look AMAZING. perky, even, symmetrical, PERFECT. People warned me not to fear no ones are ever perfect.....well guess what MINE ARE. He is a perfectionist and did a PERFECT job!!!!!
I'm just over 4 weeks out for my surgery and I want to drop a couple more lbs before the big day. I'm very nervous and excited at the same time. But I feel confident about it. I have a GREAT support system at home. Great husband and my daughters a nurse. I really don't have any experience on the surgery yet because it hasn't happened, but my Dr. is awesome and has made me feel very comfortable. Updated on 11 Aug 2015: I had my final consult with my PS yesterday. He took all the before pictures and went over all that will be happening before, during and after my surgery. Surgery is next Friday. I'm so excited and nervous. I will post before pictures once I take some at home. Updated on 20 Aug 2015: Tomorrow is the big day. I'm so nervous and excited. Here's a couple before pictures. I edited them with stickers and then couldn't figure out how to remove the stickers. You can still see the apron of skin and the empty bags my boobs used to be in. Updated on 23 Aug 2015: I just realized the pictures I tried to post on Thursday didn't post ( sorry about that) I had my surgery on Friday, I was in surgery for 8 hours and everything went great. I had to spend the night in the hospital but I'm glad I didn't because I got a slight fever that they were able to get under control very quickly. The nurses in surgery and all the nurses I dealt with after complemented me on how great I looked. I'm so excited to see them on Tuesday when I have my 1st post op appointment. I'll post more pictures then. He did a full tummy tuck, breast lift with 300cc saline implants. He told me he gave me a model belly button. I'm excited about that to because I haven't seen my belly button for years. So far so good. I'm not gonna lie I'm very uncomfortable and the pain has been pretty intense a couple of time but make sure to take your pain pills and muscle relaxers as noted and it does help. I'll post another update in a day or to.. Updated on 26 Aug 2015: Here's a few pictures my husband took today when he changed my binding and dressings. Yesterday was the hardest day so far. I had A LOT of swelling everywhere and couldn't get comfortable in any position. I was finally able to go to the bathroom today, I strongly suggest taking the stool softener ASAP because I didn't take anything until today and I did the milk of magnesia and it was a absolute horrible experience. My stomach has been rolling and uncomfortable all day and I've been spending a lot of time in the bathroom. (Had I done the stool softener from the start I could of avoided all of this, lesson learned.) I go back to the PS on Friday and hopefully have the drains removed and all the staples and stitches. I'll post another update and more pictures then. So far no regrets. :) Updated on 28 Aug 2015: I was hoping to get my drains, stitches, and staples out today but my PS only removed 2 of my drains (and OMG it hurt so bad when he pulled the other 2 out) and every other other stitch and staple. I also got to take a trip to the ER because I woke up at 2:00 AM this morning and couldn't catch my breath and was having a lot of pain in my left side. They were able to rule out any big blood clots in my lungs but it was inconclusive for small ones and they found that I have pleurisy which is why it is so painful for me to breath. Another lesson learned make sure you do the breathing thing they give you in the hospital, that will help prevent you from the fluid build up in and around the lungs.....I have another follow up on Monday so I will post another update then. Updated on 29 Aug 2015: I've attached a couple pictures of me standing. My belly is swollen but I'm loving the results. Updated on 4 Sep 2015: I went for my 2 week check up today and it went pretty good. I no longer have any drains, stitches or staples. I have a little blister of seepage under my right breast but the PS said that was very normal and to keep antibiotic cream and a bandage on it. I got to take off the breast stabilizer binder a I no longer have to keep the roll in between my breasts. I get to go back to work on Monday (I have a sit down job, nothing physical) I haven't taken any pictures lately but once I do I will post them. Happy Healing to everyone. Updated on 15 Sep 2015: I know I'm a little behind posting my 3 week update but I started back to work last week and I've been really tired and haven't felt much for getting on the computer. My check up went great. My PS said everything is healing great and everything seems to be on the right track. My breast are still very very sensitive but PS said that its probably gonna take my brain a while to get used to going from not having any feeling in my breasts at all to a lot of feeling. Still dealing with abdominal swelling that of course gets worse thru the day but that's normal. I will post more pictures once all my steri-strips fall off. (Whatever glue they used on those things is amazing they have lasted thru sweat, showers, etc.) Happy Healing to everyone.......
