I had a droopy eye lid and growth on my eye lid that was a challenge to correct. I wouldn’t trust anyone else but doctor Smith. My experience was a focused, skilled doctor, anesthetist that was very thorough and kind, a recovery room that pampered you, and a stunning attached hotel for recovery. Every step of the way the staff provided the kindest care. My results were wonderful, and the entire process was a memorable experience. I wouldn’t have anyone but Dr Smith as a surgeon.
I’m almost 56 years old, 5’7” and 125 lbs. I had implants done in 2003, (very happy), but my surgeon had retired. I had a mammogram last March 2018, thought the tech had squished one causing a leak, went for a revision consult, new surgeon was on a recommendation of my clients. (I had seen his work on them) I wanted them higher, bigger and the lost volume replaced, like they used to look. I had very bad lateral malposition, and slight asymmetry. He told me I would need a capsulorraphy and he could improve the look overall. If you need this done, make sure your guy has tons of experience doing this added procedure. I had researched everything involved including mesh and internal sutures for extra support of the larger implant. I jokingly said I wanted 800 cc, he said no, but when he called me he said he thought Natrelle cohesive gel SSX (smooth, soft extra high profile) 615 cc (gummy bears) under the muscle would give me the look I wanted. I think it’s extremely important to be firm with your expectations during your consult. Surgery and after care all great, facility phenomenal in general. (Hotel is part of the clinic\operating theatre). I was extremely nauseous on the tramidoll so I only took 2 on the day of and then only extra strength Tylenol and extra strength ibuprofen for the next 4 days. Then I needed nothing, but the recovery was very hard (pretty brutal) from the removal of the 5 inches of stretched pocket on each side and the burning of the pocket to shrink it. He was not conservative in the removal of stretched side boob skin. He told me this, so I couldn’t lift my arms or any weight for 2 weeks, but it was more like 3-4 before I could even a little bit. I had received 2 layers of sutures in a full underwire bra position internally, one layer permanent and one biodegradable, necessary to support the size of the new implants. I am almost 6 weeks post op now and am so happy to be on the other side of it all, love the new 20 something looking boobs like I used to have, in 2003, and the sutures underneath (imf) are all flat because of my using Scar Away silicone plastics to flatten and perfect the look of any residual marks. I highly recommend using this ASAP when there’s no oozing anymore...amazon has it for $ 40.00 Cdn. You ALWAYS have to get another surgery done even if your first augment is successful, btw, I didn’t have a leak, I had developed a capsular contracture (built up scar tissue) on my left side, and that had cause the change I had noticed. It took 15 years to change, so I was lucky to never have been unhappy about either of my surjuries...,so far so good! PS I wear my post op bra every night and he (my surgeon) said it’s best to “become a back sleeper” so as to not stretch your skin laterally! I’m trying, with the use of side pillows and under my knees so I don’t roll. Get a good surgeon, do your own research, don’t book on price, and do what he tells you! Overall I’m very happy, keep in mind when you’re older you heal slower and the job will never look as good as it did when you were younger and getting it done for the first time!
After an 80lb weight loss 6 years ago, (I'm 60) I decided to embark on some body repairs: 1. COMPLETED Nov 25/2018 was a breast reconstruction (due to both sag and encapsulated implant) and brachioplasty to keep me from flying off. Apologies but I have no before pictures for this. 2. Just COMPLETED Feb 12/2019 Rhytidectomy, blepharoplasty and PEARL Fractional I am still very swollen and bruised but I have had an exceptional experience and believe I will have a tremendous outcome. NOTE: We had a snowstorm the night before my surgery and I was worried it would get canceled. The nurses who lived nearby walked in and the surgeon walked SEVERAL miles in the snow to be at the clinic to get going at the appointed time! Fortunately, I had checked into a hotel across the street so as not to be the one who couldn't get there. Because this was a lengthy (5-6 hours) surgery, I had twilight anesthetic and was worried about it but it was wonderful...absolutely no issues. I apparently was talking to the team at a couple of points during my surgery to make sure they were ok, taking breaks and to excuse them to use the bathroom if they needed!! I knew the aftercare would be tremendous - this is an amazing team. I was completely attended to and looked after by everyone. I received pre and post-surgical skin care products and counseling. The items that I was least expecting: The amount of blood on Day 1 following the Pearl fractional (done at the end of my surgery). I had quite a bit and it pooled in my neck the first night. I recovered quickly over the next several days. I was also surprised at the amount of jaw/toot pain. I am still having difficulty opening my mouth wide (Day 9) and I will often get a sharp pain in my jaw when chewing. I think once the swelling goes down, this will correct itself. As of today, I am delighted with the daily improvements I see - I know I have a ways to go before I'm out in public and healed but I'm thrilled with the progress thus far. Updated on 23 Feb 2019: The first week was pretty rough - tough to sleep or eat or even watch tv. You are pretty much forced to rest which, I guess, is the plan anyway. After getting most of the stitches out I found a major corner had been turned...everything got easier although still, as expected, considerable swelling and bruising yet to heal. I feel like I am on the right track and healing well. My follow-up appointments have been very positive and I feel well enough? to ... gulp...think about my 3rd and perhaps last surgery! Updated on 28 Feb 2019: Day 15 There is a lot to be happy with. I am getting sensation back to the numb areas, my scars are generally healing well, swelling still going down and the bruising is fading. I have 2 meetings tomorrow so will have to "face" the world! Concerns: I'm not ready to bother the doctor yet as I am still just 2+ weeks post-op but my throat is still very swollen and tight. In my side photos, it looks like I have a double-chin. I have had a double chin for years but it was droopy so this tight one is better but I sure hope this area of the swelling subsides! Also, my jaw has not entirely settled down - I cannot open my mouth very far before some jaw joint pain clicks in. It is getting a bit better so I won't sound any alarms just yet. I have only one odd incision, right hand just below/behind my earlobe...again, I know it is early so I will just see how this progresses over the next few weeks.
On October 25th I had a full breast reconstruction and brachioplasty. I had friends who raved about Dr. Smith and now I know why. Between the pre-surgery experience, the surgery, the team, the follow-up and my results, I get it. I am 2 months post-op and my results are extraordinary. I am 60 years old, lost 80 lbs5 years ago and wanted to remove all the loose skin that doesn’t bounce back at my age. My previous implants from 30 years ago became encapsulated and painful and required a complete re-do. I am beyond thrilled with the results and have now booked a lowers facelift and eyelid lift for next month. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.
For the longest time I knew I wanted to get a rhinoplasty to remove the bump on the bridge of my nose. When I started looking around at plastic surgeons, I was totally out of my element and terrified- I felt like a lost puppy! As soon as I walked into Dr. Kenneth Smith’s office, Clinic 805, I was met with so much kindness and reassurance. The nurses were lovely, and the design was brilliant, and Dr. Smith blew my expectations out of the water. I was given a quote, and booked my surgery a few weeks after my consultation. His nurses held my hand the entire way- literally. Every stupid question or thought, was answered promptly and so respectfully. Surgery day was something I was really stressed about, but once again, the whole staff went above and beyond. I felt so well taken care of by them. His nurses, Pam and Kate, especially exceeded my expectations. The surgery was quick and very well explained to me. I didn’t feel left in the dark for a single second. Today I am one week post-op and had my cast removed, and splints and stitches taken out. I am glad I chose Dr. Smith as my doctor now more than ever! Although extremely swollen, I can already see breath taking results and how brilliant his work is. Dr. Smith even took the time to check over my nose himself today as my dog had slightly knocked it yesterday. He is thorough, incredibly knowledgeable and a very reputable surgeon. I couldn’t recommend him and his great staff more. Thank you Clinic 805!
I had a tummy tuck on Aug 21st 2018. My consultation was pretty straight forward, I knew what I wanted and had done lots of research before I went. Dr.Smith was super friendly, made lots of jokes was just a super comfortable person! All the ladies in his office are super sweet! Pam his nurse was definitely my favorite! I booked my surgery the day of my consultation. Surgery went super soomth, I woke up in recovery an felt amazing! My tummy is so cute now, Dr.smith made the incision nice an low so it will be easily hidden once it's all healed!
I had a Breast lift, and implants. I found Dr. Smith to be very straightforward and very professional, i felt very comfortable with him, I really like him and would recommend him to anyone. My left breast leaked and was completely deflated so i had to go back and have it redone, he also fixed my other breast , it had started to drop a little, my breasts now look perfect. Thank you Dr. Smith. The clinic itself it very nice very comfortable. The staff is amazing, especially Pam she is so kind i love her! thank you for everything
Dr.Kenneth A. Smith was the only plastic surgeon I would recommend to my friends, or anyone. Even my family doctor said that he's the best on the island and he was so nice and supportive! Before surgery he made me feel so comfortable and safe. He has been a plastic surgeon for quite some time and that's one of the reasons I chose him. He has the best staff and nicest nurses ever! 110% guaranteed that you will be pleased with him, his staff, the nurses and clinic 805 itself (it's beautiful and after you get surgery there's a hotel attached right to the building so he can wheelchair you to your hotel room and the nurses will check in on you and if there's any problems he's there).
14 years ago I had a 10 pound baby that seperated my stomach muscles and left me with terrible stretch marks and dimply loose skin. I chose Dr Ken Smith after a few of my girlfriends had breast augmentation and abdomnioplasty by him. Im not going to lie, as he said. The first few days were not easy. I am currently 7 days post op and had my drains removed today. For the first time I stood in front of a mirror with no binder on and I am blown away by the outcome. Dr Smith was very informative and friendly through the process. He was there when I woke up from surgery and told me it went better than expected and showed me the results. I am looking forward to seeing my body changeover the next year. I would highly recommend Dr Smith and his staff at clinic 805 in Victoria B.C Everyone I met there is very friendly, caring and helpful.
His entire team at Clinic805 is lovely!! His nurses are absolute gems, some of the sweetest people ever. Dr.Smith himself is extremely knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and was very easy to talk to. He is professional and personable: he makes you feel very comfortable and puts you at ease. He makes sure to go over everything in detail with you, risks, what to expect etc. Has a great sense of humour and you can tell all his staff are happy to be there. The clinic has a family feel - it was recommended to me by multiple people and I understand why. I am so thrilled to have gone to Dr.Smith and his fantastic team
